So it doesn't really matter whether or not she's doing it for marketing. It's sure working.
And the topic is T. Swift. I think that anytime Taylor Swift is in a relationship that it's going to sell. Everybody's talking about this breakup already in the middle of a romance because that's Taylor's brand is breaking up, writing a song, having another hit. So the more that we're talking about this, the more that we're voting for more of it. Welcome back to another episode of the yes and Podcast. I am your host, serial entrepreneur, former stuntwoman. This is the yes and Podcast. We are talking about all things business and lifestyle and building a business that supports the lifestyle of your dreams, that supports your family, that gives you everything that you desire from life and that works for you, not the other way around. And I'm doing an episode on a topic that I don't want to do. So that's how we're starting this episode. So normally I'm like, I can't wait to talk to you today. I can't wait to talk to the guests that we have on today. Guess what? There's no guest. It's just Guinness and I in this studio. It's about a topic that a lot of people are talking about and but I actually am doing it because I've.
Gotten a lot of questions from you.
About this particular topic on social media.
And I've been in conversations with a lot of entrepreneurs and people in corporate around this topic.
And the topic is T. Swift and her relationship with Mr. Kelsey. And whether or not I think that this is a marketing move, and here is the reality, whether or not it's a marketing move, whether or not it's real love, like true love, whether or not it's just going to be the next hit record that she has. The fact that she is prioritizing, making it to his games while still selling out stadiums all over the world, and the fact that on his bi week he's flying down to Brazil, I think in order to be at her concerts proves that when any of us say we don't have the time, it is an excuse, people. It just means this is not a priority to me. And I'm going to use that example until I no longer feel like it's going to land. But it's going to be a while that I'm going to use this example for.
Because the other thing is that I think is really cool that you apply to business, is you see how collaboration in any shape impacts and is a positive Marketing strategy. Think about how many of T. Swift's friends of Taylor Swift's friends have probably never been to a football game ever. And yet now her boyfriend is a footballer. And so football player, I guess footballer is like a soccer player, but a football player. And she's dragging all of her friends there and introducing them to this industry, and they're showing excitement and they're getting.
Into it, and there's a ton of press coverage. And then how many people that are huge NFL fans would never tune in to what Taylor Swift is doing or never contemplate buying tickets to her concert. And now they're keeping up with what Taylor Swift's doing, and they're tuning in to a completely different industry and a completely different media that they otherwise wouldn't have been exposed to. And it's just. That is the freaking power of collaboration. And it costs you nothing to collaborate with somebody else who is in a different industry and share audiences. And it builds such great relationship currency. And as long as you guys share the same values, which I'm not here to evaluate whether or not Mr. Kelce and Taylor Swift have the same values, but I'm here to say that it's good for business. Collaboration is very, very good for business. And so that is a great example of it. Do I think it's all for marketing? No, I don't think it's all for marketing. And I could be wrong. I think that anytime Taylor Swift is.
In a relationship, that it's going to sell.
And I think that what it's showing us is that we are also. The fact that we're even talking about whether or not it's good for marketing is still marketing. It's still us clicking and talking and.
Putting this out into the world, that.
We'Re putting more keywords, more Taylor Swift hype all around it.
So it doesn't really matter whether or not she's doing it for marketing. It's sure working. It's absolutely working. And I can just see on my algorithms, because I do watch NFL, how.
I'm now getting Taylor Swift con content as well. And the fact that she broke her heel at a concert. And I've seen 15 reels about this broken heel that in other ways I wouldn't care about, but that the content that's behind it is really great and creative in the aspect that, like, the hook is. Here's why Taylor Swift is selling out stadiums. Broken heel example. And I'm like, what? What is that gonna be? And like, how a broken heel is leading to a broken Heart. And I'm like, what? Okay, so I'm now a part of this whole hook, and I'm seeing how it's being fed to us and it's perpetuating the cycle. But we're also voting with our attention. We're voting with our. Our resources, which is time, energy, and money. So the more that we're talking about this, the more that we're voting for more of it. And I did a podcast interview today where they're like, oh, it's only going to last, like, two months. Well, that's really up to us. That really is up to us as we're voting with our attention. And I think that the way that.
Mr. Kelce is handling all of this, I'm saying Mr. Kelsey, because I genuinely can't remember. Here's me Googling this right now. It's Travis Kelsey, right? Like, this is. And look. Now look what I'm doing. I am literally, yeah, Travis Kelce. I'm literally Googling it. And now my algorithm's all messed up. So I'm going to get more Travis Kelce content. The way that he's handling interviews, of being supportive and yet not wanting to.
Comment on his personal life is just driving more because it's more a mystery. It's just like the hooks that I shared with you. It's like I'm sharing a little bit, but I'm not sharing all the content. You got to read the caption, and then the reel is playing in the background 10, 15, 20 times as we're reading through this caption to get to, inevitably, the last line. And that's good marketing. And also it's building that brand. And so it's the awareness around the brand. Everybody's talking about this breakup already before in the middle of a romance, because that's Taylor's brand is breaking up, writing a song, having another hit around that song. So that's the brand. And then Travis Kelsey's building this brand about being an extreme gentleman. And you're seeing everything around that where it's like people are talking about Travis Kelce's school of being a good gentleman and being a good boyfriend and holding the door open. And, you know, it's kind of funny because I did see a video where it was Taylor Swift security, and Travis Kelsey stepped in. And I'm like, yeah, you've. You've got a. You've got a football player there. I don't think you necessarily need another security guard standing there in your place. And remember what both of our professions are so I love that there's a brand awareness and I'm just tying so many marketing lessons, like back into this and so many business lessons back into this. So back to the question. Do I think that this Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship is just for show? No. Do I think it's good for business? Absolutely, of freaking lutely. And I've just outlined three separate ways between the collaboration, between the brand clarity and between, you know, voting with our attention that it is obviously good for business. So I wish them all of the best. This actually was a pretty fun episode to do, despite the fact that I went into it kicking and screaming. But hey, that's. That's. It's me.
Right?
Right.
It's me.
I'm the problem. That's how we end this episode. So let me know what you thought of this episode. I don't necessarily want to get into a Taylor Swift conversation on social media and I want to know that this was of value to you. So please comment, subscribe, leave a review, tag me on social media and I truly do look forward to meeting you wherever you have listened to this episode, whether it's in the car, it's a short episode. So take in another episode right after this. Share it with somebody that you've had a discussion with. Think of the last person that you discussed Taylor Swift with and share this episode with them. If you're walking your dog on the beach, wish I was there with you. Wherever you are Listening to the yes and podcast, I appreciate you.
I am your host, Bunny Young, and I will see you in the next episode.
