Owning Your Power w. Shoshanna Raven
27 Mar 2025 · 40 min
In this episode of the Yes And Podcast, host Bunny Young interviews Shoshanna Raven, a visionary entrepreneur and creator of the Micro Movement Method and Jedi Mania Method. The conversation weaves through Shoshanna’s personal journey of vulnerability—publicly sharing her HSV status—and how that honesty fuels her business philosophy. They explore the concept of "boutique‑ify"—building high‑cash‑flow, low‑maintenance businesses that retain intimate, personalized client experiences. Shoshanna explains her frameworks: the seven‑step Micro Movement Method for scaling a "micro movement" and the Jedi Mania Method for aligning energy, strategy, and tactics. The dialogue delves into the power of identifying the "gap in the conversation," using shame‑slaying as a catalyst for authentic connection, and reframing haters as mirrors for hidden wounds. They also outline concrete plans for 2025, including a VIP day, a Costa Rica retreat, and a mastermind for six women, emphasizing an artistic, play‑first approach to business and life. Throughout, the tone remains conversational, enthusiastic, and deeply vulnerable, highlighting the interplay between personal healing and entrepreneurial growth.

If I'm good with who I am, if I love myself, if I have the energy of joy and vitality and peace running through my body because it's not sticking all that crap inside that we shove down when things happen in the past, then what happens when I set a big goal and I tell everybody and I don't make it? Well, I set a big goal and I didn't make it, so I get back up. Welcome back.
My name is Bunny Young, serial entrepreneur, entrepreneur, retired stuntwoman, mother of 3 beautiful kids, and a builder of life I don't need to escape from. And welcome back to the Yes And Podcast. If you were wondering where you landed this morning, this afternoon, this evening, wherever you're listening to this, let me orient you to this being season 2, and we're diving even deeper with some incredible women who are breaking barriers, building empires, and designing lives and companies their way. Which is why this morning, very early for me, I have brought you a woman that basically took me from to 6 figures in our relationship in less than 30 days. And I first am going to have her explain that to you. And I don't mean me making 6 figures. I mean the investment in our relationship. And just in a way that there's like very little social media as far as the curated launches. And her whole thing is around doing it with ease and this chill rocket ship. So, Shosh, Welcome to the podcast.
I'm so happy to be here and I'm so happy to start our journey together. And I'm, you know, I love that you shared, hey, we're talking about codes around ease and having it all without doing it all. And just your experience being on the other side of like coming into my world and my ecosystem and my business, like, oh, this wasn't during this like highly curated launch or like the super perfect social media page. And when we actually got on right before we press record on the podcast, you were like, actually, it was just a recommendation from a really close friend of mine. And Mel is someone that I've been working with, you know, almost 2 years now. And actually, uh, I have known over here for how God knows how many years. I remember when someone shared her social media page with me because I was going through a heartbreak and they were like, hey, you should check this chick out. Like, so many people had told me that I was finally like, okay, I'll Google her, you know, I'll look her up on Instagram. And I think it really comes down to The fact that most truths— this was a quote from a book, Transurfing Reality, that I just read. I love it. Said, you know, the most powerful truths are unfathomably simple, and they require so much honesty with ourselves. And we don't sometimes want things to be so simple. We like to make them more complicated. It doesn't mean they're easy, right? It's really brave, it's really vulnerable, it's really honest. And sometimes it takes more effort and like showing up with our full selves to the table. But so much of business is really about the art of relationship, you know, and the relationship that starts with ourself first. And how do we become more open, loving, joyous, more porous, you know? Like there's more just pathways for people to connect with us. There's less of a film, there's less of a filter, there's more of a lightness. We're not holding so many stories and attachments and shame. Like, that's really where it all begins. Because when you become someone like that, first of all, you're more creative, you're more open, you're more magnetic, right? And it's just, you naturally lift up those around you. And it's kind of subconscious, subtle sales, a feminine energetic, which is like, I can't explain you, but I want to learn more, right? Like, there's something about you. I don't know, I didn't even read the page, but I'm here. And it's like this experience of this feeling that we don't even really like to intellectualize, you know, and that's, that's a world that I love to play in and live inside of.
Yeah, I mean, that's, that's— you just described my experience. I was like, this doesn't make sense. I haven't read your sales page. Um, there's no sales page as far as some of the stuff that we've been talking about, uh, and I just described how I wanted to feel, and you put together something that is like a bespoke offer to support what I wanted to feel, which is counterintuitive to business, to like have a DM, voice note conversation with somebody and not try to just put them in one of your programs and put them in one of your offers or sell them a masterclass like you really. And I know that obviously there's thousands of women that are in your community and so not every single one of them gets a bespoke offer, but I feel like they feel like they do, right? And so like, what is your approach to business? What is your thoughts around business? And was it when you started out, was it like, I'm going to build— this year you're doing $7 mil, right? Like, I'm going to build a $7 million empire. Was this the plan?
Oh my God, no. So I love that you bring this up actually, because I have, um, something that I developed called the Micro Movement Method, right? And I kind of looked at, okay, for so long this was just working, and it took me really sitting down being like, okay, what do I really do that makes this most different? And how does this all work? You know, kind of reverse Engineering the Process. And there's an aspect of it, there's 7 kind of quote steps, different aspects of growing the micro movement, growing the business, the high cash flow, low maintenance business. And one of them is boutique-ify because I love the experience that I have when I walk into a boutique and it feels like there's this atmosphere, there's this kind of culture, it's homey. Even if I'm not going to— look, I only have one earring in, this is me. Even if I'm not going to buy anything, I just love to stop in, chat with my friends. Sometimes I leave and I have no idea. I'm like, did I just— how did that happened. Like, we were just talking about, you know, our partners and our kids and our dog, and like, all of a sudden I walk out with a new wardrobe. And then sometimes I go in there and I'm not really like feeling the vibe, but I still check in and I don't feel pressured. And, you know, like, I might get a text that's like, hey, we thought of you, you know, we think you'd love this. And it's not weird. Like, no one's being a weirdo, right? It's like, yeah, of course you want to buy this, we want to sell this. Like, everybody wins. And so there's that aspect of no matter how big the business gets, there's always an opportunity for investing in like that intimacy and that relationship and that customization, especially at the highest level. If there's someone who comes to me who is like, is someone that I'm like, I know that my work is for a lot of people, but my work is really powerful for women who have a big why, a big mission, who have, you know, created success so far. And in that, when you have a vehicle that works, you know, when you have a mentor and you have a guide that can shift a couple of dials, it's like they are like million-dollar nuggets. You know, you can go off. And I know the work that I'm doing with someone like you is going to go and like ripple off in a big way. So it's like, of course, this is so worth it to me. And I think a lot of people operate as if they're a big mall or like this big box brand where they're just like, if I post a bunch of story slides, you know, and like I make these big broadcasts, then that's how I'm going to grow my business. But even from the very beginning, you know, and as more people, you could say like random people, which nothing is random, nothing is coincidence, find me on social media. A lot of the times, like in the Highest Level space, it's like, oh yeah, I met you when we were in Bali together. Oh, so-and-so told me about you and she had a great experience with you. You know, and at that point it's like, yeah, I am— I love what I do. I love connecting with people. And that kind of boutique energy is something that a lot of people find hard to scale. And when they're maybe not in love with the work or aligned with the work, it feels like, oh, let's just optimize and automate everything. But that's also an energetic that at a certain point I'm like, less ManyChat, more people. Not that I don't use ManyChat, right? But like reinvesting in that is something that I I really enjoy doing.
Yeah. You— in our chat, you woke up my many chat, which I always think it's cute. Like he's sitting in a cave or she's sitting in a cave somewhere and then we wake her up in the middle of our conversation.
Yeah, don't worry, it happens to me all the time. I'm like, oh my God. And this one was from like 2 months ago. You know what? We need to turn this one off. I'm like, oh, there we go. I love—
I want to go somewhere like total 90-degree from this, but it's about as a projector and as somebody who has a high sensitivity to energy. You put yourself out there on social media, you put yourself out there on the podcast. You had mentioned, you know, basically stepping out and showing the world and telling the world that you have this STI that's highly stigmatized against in society. And that comes with a lot of connection and a lot of vulnerability and a lot of people that come to you and are like, thank you. That also comes with a lot of people who say, "STFU." Yeah. Like, and this is specifically from me. Like, I had come at this from a biased opinion, and I got into a business relationship that resulted in her posting death threats against my kids on social media.
That's tough.
And like, our location and all of this stuff. And so my cells remember what it felt like to put myself out there and be not, not just me attacked— I'm a grown-ass woman— but like the consequences that that had for my kids. And so I think there's a couple avenues here as a mom, like your thought process around that, as well as just as a business owner dealing with the haters.
Yeah. Oh my gosh, this is a great, great conversation. So when it comes to launching Living Brave, and you said like, did you set out to have a $7 million business? You know what I love is that I actually set out just to express myself and like liberate my voice and, you know, have great conversations with other people that also had overcome something. And maybe we could help one person feel less alone. And so the selfish reason was like, if I don't share this, I'm literally gonna pop because I feel like I love, I love connecting with people. I love expressing myself, you know, whether it's like with an Uber driver or my, someone at the nail salon. Like, I just felt like my story had some, I could just feel that like this— your shame is a source of your deepest power. And, you know, there's nothing about your life that you can't turn into gold. You know, there's always an opportunity for a 180 shift. Like, I felt like that was my message. I felt like life tapped me on the shoulder and was like, liberate women through the power of truth-telling and authentic expression. And so that was it. I didn't have a coaching offer. I didn't have any offers for 6 months. I felt like investing $100 in this podcast recording studio was like such a badass thing. I was like, oh my God, am I really doing this? You know? And it wasn't. Wasn't set out to make money, you know. It was set out to express myself, to serve, to connect with my, my dharma, my soul path. And that organically turned into something. And so I think it's different when we have a business and we're told like, you know, you should be vulnerable to grow your personal brand to make more money, versus— and there's nothing I want to say inherently wrong about that, but there's there's the beginning of my business, which was founded on like liberate your own truth for yourself and for others detached from a business. Like it was more your calling here is really to share your story and to help other people share their stories. And so, you know, when you said like STFU kind of thing, like when people hear what you have to say and some people are inspired, you know, my very first clients, some of them were like, STFU. And also, fuck, I want to learn from you, right? Like, I have been living in a cage. I've been living in this, like, paradigm where I didn't see another choice point. And I think that's what's so scary about showing up in our brand. It's like you're showing people, especially when you are really not just copying what works, but you're really finding a gap in the conversation and you're going, no, there is another way to do this. There is another way to live. That can be like the truth is kind of like looked at as a weapon in a world where people are lying to themselves that there's only a couple of ways that are okay, a couple of ways that will people work and you go, you're embodying, you're living another way. And you're like, STFU, I really don't want to look at that because I don't want to have to look at my shadow, my shame, my story. I don't want to have to take ownership of my life and say like, maybe when I— my first, um, my first article and episode is all about how HSV was the best thing that ever happened to me. Can you imagine? Like, STFU, like, are you kidding me? Like, it was the best thing that ever happened to you? But I had people read that and go, I'm so mad that I need to read this. Like, right? And at the end of reading it, I wasn't just preaching to people. I was telling a story that was real and vulnerable and authentic. So at the end of it, it was like, okay, damn. Like, she's not just telling me your shame is a source of your power, go off and be brave, because people have heard that, right? But she's like actually sharing her story and her experience where I come to that conclusion myself because this story gave me a feeling that is undeniable. And I went through this experience of as if it were my own, right? Because this person like put themselves out there and was honest and real. So I would say that while we would think being vulnerable about HSV on the internet is like going to cause a big stir, honestly, being a woman who's like fully in her joy, fully expressed, um, around wealth, around play, around joy, that has created more of a backlash than being honest about my HSV status. I think it's also the way in which you share about it, right? Like, it was always about about the underlying message. I think sometimes people come out and they're like, I'm being brave, I have HSV, and people are like, ah, you know, there's very rarely is a big story about the big thing. A big story is usually around the underlying message and theme and the small moments in the story. Yeah, right. And that's why it doesn't really land sometimes just disclosing an HSV status. When you tell a story that helps people understand the power of human connection, of vulnerability, of self-acceptance, of self-love, of like Understanding those pockets of shame, those things that we think make us less than, like, that's what the story is really about. So that's why I think it impacted people so much rather than just coming out and saying something really big that sometimes isn't always received when people are going off and being vulnerable. But again, less of a backlash from sharing about our wounds and our pain sometimes, you know, than actually just being in our radical joy celebration without having to reach to a sad story. I think that has been something that's been more challenging.
Well, I want to like go back to something that you said that just hit, which is— and I'm sure there's so many things that are hitting for our listeners— but the gap in the conversation. And I think like that there's this divine pause that's missing out of so many business strategies, at least for me, and life strategies as well, because there's so much out, there's so much for me you know, in growing my business, I will say I hit multiple 7 figures in a very over-masculine way because that's what I had been around. And so the idea of slowing it down, the idea of this visual and this model of finding the gap in the conversation.
Yeah.
Like, that's amazing.
Yeah, I love, I love that you almost feel it also. Is that like spaciousness? Because when I think about like that gap in the conversation, the thing that no one is saying, you know, whereas I feel like there's a lot of business blueprints of like, hey, here's messaging that works, here is positioning that works. And when you come into a space, and it's usually not something that you intellectualize, right? It's something that your life is really the gap in the conversation. Your story has never been shared before, and you're going, no one's saying this thing. Hold on. You know, and it almost does create this pause because people are going so fast, scrolling on social media. You know, it just feels like everything is getting kind of blurred together. Together, that, um, it does create this like, wait, hold on, a hook for people, right? Marketing terms, your hook, right? What is that difference where someone's like, I haven't heard that before? Oh, that's just a unique energetic signature. That's like the thing that no one is saying. So when I was starting my podcast, the gap was that I saw no one who was talking about HSV, who was talking about shame in the way that I wanted to. I saw There are some people who— and this is honestly why I keep sharing my greatest truths, my greatest joy and celebrations, because I was inspired by other people going online, sharing their stories, sharing their heart, sharing, you know, whether it's empowerment around wealth, around money, around sex positivity. I was like, this is so cool, right? And like, wow, there is a gap though with someone that looks like me, that talks like me, that has my experience and my perspective, being honest and open around something like an STI and especially HSV, which 1 in 4 people have HSV-2, and then like 2 in 3 people have HSV-1. So I'm like, if I feel like this, like, I can't even imagine how many people I can touch. And again, if I tell a story that makes it so much more than a story around HSV, like, people would come out of the woodwork. So, my gosh, I have this story that I thought made me less than, and your story around HSV liberated me around my adoption, it liberated me around my abortion, It liberated me around, you know, this old story having a relationship. It liberated me around all kinds of things, you know. But yeah, really daring to say the thing that no one else is saying because it's the story that was given to you so you could share it. You know, it's your unique story.
I love that. I love that. So we talked about story. We talked about the gap in the conversation. We talked about haters.
Oh yes. I mean, there's so much we could talk about haters. But I could say like, you know, having— the whole reason that shame slaying is really the foundation of this work. And when I say shame slaying, I'm saying what in life are we avoiding? And can we get really curious about that? Because we're only limited by what we're unwilling to feel, right? And so if I have shame, that maybe I'm not really all that great. I have some fear around being rejected because I don't want to feel that thing inside. I don't want to feel that wound inside, that rejection wound. I have fear that maybe they won't like me because why do I need you to like me, right? To compensate for something inside. If I'm good with who I am, if I love myself, if I have the energy of joy and vitality and peace running through my body because it's not sticking all that crap inside that we shove down when things happen in the past, then what happens when I set a big goal and I tell everybody and I don't make it? Well, I set a big goal and I didn't make it, so I get back up, right? If I have shame, if I have fear, if I have, "I don't want you to really know that if I failed, I'm actually a failure," right? Then we're going to walk around compensating all the time for our wounds. And this is why, like, becoming really curious and doing the healing work around like, "What am I afraid of? What am I ashamed of? How can I liberate myself?" And vulnerability is just one of those tools, right? Authentic connection is just one of those tools to see ourselves reflected in mirrors of other people, to get things unstuck through the power of approaching the things that scare us the most, bravery. On the other side of shame is bravery because I can't be brave, I can't approach the things that scare me if I'm always protecting my wounds, right? There's like we either approach what we want or we avoid what we don't want. Want. And so in the haters conversation, we're always going to be afraid of people not liking us. We're always going to be afraid of people getting our message backwards. We're always going to be afraid of, oh my God, what if that person thinks— and it just shows us exactly where our shadows are. Because if you think about it, if someone comes up to me and they're like, you are just disgusting, I can't believe the way you share about HSV, like you're gross, you're dirty, or whatever they could say, I would feel absolutely nothing, right? I would feel only compassion for this person because I don't have a wound match. I've really healed that within myself. There's nothing inside of me that feels maybe unsettled or unintegrated in my experience with that. But if I have something, say, around money, and someone comes up to me and they're like, "All you care about is money. You're robbing people. You know, you are greedy. You're gross." And I have a wound around money and I just— I need you to know that I'm a good person. Why? Yeah, you know, if I know I'm not a good person— good for what, right? Like, good person, bad person— I am a person. I'm an imperfect person, but I'm cool with who I am. I love who I am. And I know that, you know, I'm always continuing to grow and get better. I don't need you to know I'm a good person. I'm good with myself, right? So if I'm like, I need them to know I'm in it for the right reasons, that shows me maybe I'm I'm not quite sure that I'm in it for the right reasons. Maybe I still need people to know these things about me because I'm not solid in myself. So the things that stick that the, quote, "haters say" just shows us those areas where we still are a little unintegrated. There's still a shadow. There's still stuff to work through. And so I think one of the greatest blessings is, you know, haters keeping you honest. Like, if I can read every single hate comment, the meanest things about me, you know, can I say, all right. Am I cool with this? Like, whatever they're saying, am I at peace with myself? Am I at peace with how I've operated? It keeps you honest. You know, and is there a thread of truth? Can I be like a multidimensional person? Can I integrate my shadow? Can I say there can be multiple truths at once? Can I really not put excess importance on the way other people see me? Because at the end of the day, you know, things like that will happen. You'll have hate threads about you. You'll have— people have all kinds of relationships with you without you even knowing, right? And just saying, does this actually matter? Because when we put excess importance on something, it becomes like this big energy leak. And then we think we're stressed, there's so much on our plates, but really so much of it is an energy game. You know, it's when we put too much importance on things in life that don't actually matter. Like, you know, this sucks for a second. Your human might feel like, ah, I really want people to like me. I'm really disappointed that, you know, these people don't that there are, quote, haters, and they have taken a play from my playbook and built a diehard tribe, right? Like, is that— but does that actually matter? No. Like, is it really going to affect your business? No. Does it really mean anything about you? No.
And so hold on, there's a diehard tribe of people that just swarm around negativity directed towards Shoshana Raven?
Oh yes, yeah, always. And honestly, I'm embarrassed it didn't happen. I'm just kidding. I'm very— it shouldn't happen sooner. No, but truly, like, the more and more that I work with these credible women, the more that people come to me. And it's not that people don't know how to grow a business. It's not that— there's so many ways to grow a business, so many ways to grow an 8, 9-figure business. It is the journey of leadership, of power, of being able to hold your power through the inevitable ebbs and flows of business, through, you know, tests and initiations, through being met with your greatest fears head-on, holding your power, holding your power, holding your power, knowing that every single thing is being delivered to you so you can see yourself, so you can become more of yourself. If you are truly saying something that is, as we said, a gap in the conversation and you are modeling something that is different than the status quo, people will hold on to their story for dear life. And also, it's, you know, it's a very, like, very common thing that happens that people don't talk about so much. Well, okay.
Okay, so I'm going to shake off that energy for a second because I want my attention. And we talked about this for like 2 seconds prior to coming into this. So I'm hitting you with a little bit of new energy in the aspect that I want to give some people in my audience the opportunity to get a little behind the scenes on what 2025 is going to look like. Yes. So you and I are going to do a VIP day together. Next month. And then I'm working with you kind of at the highest level, one-to-one, as well as in this intimate mastermind that is, um, I think there's only 6 women in it.
Yeah.
Is that— yeah. So just give us a little bit of— however you want, babe, give us a little sneak peek on what this journey is going to look like and what you see for our work together. And like, this also is going to be a documented historic moment that we get to go back to in December 2025. So let's look at this.
Well, I love this because we're having really a conversation around duality and holding more and more and more and more. And when I think about like touching, touching a life beyond your vision board, right? Beyond anything that your mind can even fathom right now, which is really the way that I love to approach things. It's like, gosh, My greatest intention is that the now moment becomes so fun and like so infinite and so creative that we don't even want to think about where we're going because we don't want to mess it up. It's like, gosh, my life now is so far beyond what I could have ever imagined years ago. And if we just focus on who we're being every single moment, the actions that we're taking today, what is the highest, fullest expression of me in my business, in my love, in my life today, then life will roll out the red carpet and take me somewhere so far beyond what I'm trying trying to manipulate and control and create in my mind. You know, my most beautiful, quote, manifestations— I always say life is manifesting you, right? It's manifested me. It's been something that's like, I don't even want to know what's out there, what miracles are trying to find me today. And so my job is to become a match to them. And so that's really what I see in, in our work together, is like, okay, no matter what life throws at us, how can we maintain the consciousness to be artists of our own reality, to be artists of our life, to say, bring it on, okay, what raw material do you have for me today? You know, like What raw material do you have for me today? And how can I make my life a moving prayer? How can I make my life, my business, the answer to someone's question, the answer to someone's prayer, to be like, I've been looking for— I didn't— I've been looking for you, you know? And for you to really feel like every day when you're met with challenges, when you're met with opportunities, it feels like a gift, you know, whether it's a blessing in disguise or whether it is like, oh my gosh, I said yes to myself. It made no sense. But now looking back, it's the only thing that made made sense. Because if I really wanted to play full out and I really knew where I was going and I really knew who I was, then this makes the most sense, right? And the only way to create the future is from the rules of the future, right? And so if I can feel and sense the kind of power that I'm about to hold, you know, and then, oh my gosh, what kind of counsel do I want around me? What kind of women do I want around me? What kind of support do I want? What kind of energy do I want to be in? Who do I want to be calibrated to? Like, this conversation, then it makes the most sense. And so what I see is like a year beyond our dreams, right? Because we can say, here's what would feel so good. And also I am open to looking back on this and like laughing at how small my mind was and what I thought I even wanted, because we changed and we evolved so much. I'm like, gosh, who am I going to be tomorrow? You know, like, I hope that's— that's my wish, is that instead of like, here's who I'm trying— here's who I'm trying to become and here's what I'm creating, it's more of let's playful out. Let's see when we like release, we drop every last fucks given, you know, and we really like go out and play big game. Like, what parts of yourself want to come out to play? Like, what is this evolution that is unfolding of you and your expression, you know? And this like bigness of you, this ability for you to also expand your capacity to hold more. And what I like to think about is like attract more and then understand that it's holding itself and be okay within chaos and growth and multiple things happening at once. And just focus on what's right in front of you and be present with that. Um, and almost look at this process like there's a deep why. We want to serve and support our community and our clients. But I also feel like that path of mastery of your own life, of yourself, is such an exciting journey to be one. And that really is what I'm here as a co-pilot. It's like, let's be life artists together. Let's see what a masterpiece, you know, we can create in like becoming an ascended master, like in our own life. Like, okay, can you touch like Martha Stewart documentary where she's like the first female billionaire, you know, in the world, and then she gets thrown in jail for 6 months for something that like she was made an example of, you know, something she didn't even do. And it's like, can we touch all of it and then walk out of jail and be like, "That was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Can we like touch?" You know, like, do we think she started off as like, "I'm gonna be the first female billionaire." Maybe, but probably not, right? And so that's the journey I want to go on with women is like, can we touch everything and let it all refine us and let it all be this living, breathing masterpiece?
That's so beautiful. That's so beautiful. And then like, on a macro level— and this will be my, my second to last question because I know, I know we got to leave time for going potty before our next rendezvous— like, then how do you bring it into the day-to-day and the, the actual strategy? So like, a real-life example is I have one spot left for our Costa Rica retreat, January 2nd to the 7th. My biased opinion as a mom of 3 is like, it's too late. Like, and I'm, I've been sitting with that energy because there's only a part of me that believes that. A part of me also knows that there's this like woman out there that is waiting to figure out what she's going to do to put herself in the energy for her business the first week of January. So if we give this audience a little behind the scenes, if this is our mini 1-minute coaching session and I come to you and I'm like, I'm like, babe, this is what's going on in my business.
What's your response? Yeah, well, I love this. So I have this process I call it the Jedi Mania Method. And really it's like, okay, how do we strategize in business? And a lot of people call tactics strategy. So a tactic is like, what do I do today? But a tactic really doesn't matter unless we know what our strategy is. And the strategy is like, where am I going and why does it matter? So when people follow other people's tactics, but they don't really have an understanding of where do I want to go, how do I want it to feel, Why does this matter? What direction am I taking in my business? What is my long-term plan and strategy? And then what tactics can I do to move the needle today? What is the highest return on my attention today? But how I start is in the energy, right? So when I start with a client and they're like, I don't know, like, I don't really know if my messaging is making sense and no one's really signing up for this thing. And I'm like, okay, we can talk. We can start with what do I do today? Or we can start with, wait, wait, hold on. Let's get in the energy of this. What is true? True, right? And that's always where I start. Like, what is true? What is alive and true and real? Like, and if there's shame, if there's stickiness, if there's shame, slay it. If there's fear, and what's true, you know, and that's usually what we're resisting, and that's like the first thing before tactics. If there's fear, approach it. Like, if I don't do something in my business or my life that makes me feel like, oh my God, I can't believe I'm doing this today, right? Like, I can't believe I'm sharing this. I can't believe I'm posting this. Like, see what's alive and true and real like get to the truth. And often things that are happening in our lives behind the scenes, you know, if there's a lack of truth, if there's like, like what is real for you, you know? And then let's, let's clear the muck around it. So there's fear, there's resistance, there's, ah, like, okay, let's get to a space now where we're tapped back into the truth, which is like anything is fucking possible today. Yes. Right. Which like the sky's the limit, which there's millions of people at your fingertips, which anyone can find you today, which this retreat is going to be fucking amazing. And it's a gift already whether or not this person finds you. Like, this is going to be a smashing success. The truth is, like, I've had retreats that are, you know, I break even or lost leaders. You could— I've lost money on them and ended up being a huge asset. You have an amazing time. The women there sign up for your next offers. Like, that literally in hindsight everything makes sense. And that right now the only reason we're feeling disappointed, the only reason that we're feeling disappointed, is because we're trying to hedge against the potential disappointment that might feel. But truly, if we want this to be a smashing success, the best thing we can do for ourselves today is act like it's already a smashing success, you know, and get into that energy. Because whether or not, like, whatever happens, like, this is the only place that we're going to find out. Like, the most magnificent launch and retreat that we can have is going to be from this all-in energy and this optimistic, empowered space. So we get in the energy for We hang out with people who make us more us, right? And so that's the first thing. And the next is a strategy. Okay, cool. Where are we going? Okay, we want one more person coming to this retreat. Okay, what do we want the retreat to feel like? What are we going to be selling off the back of it? What is the energy of it? What is the transformation? Who are we calling in? Okay, how do we really get— so now, now that we understand that, okay, a tactic is how do we speak to her today? Okay, where is maybe the gap in the business? Is it a lead gen thing? Do we want to look at maybe how we can make something that gets seen by more people, or we want to do a strategic collaboration, right? Is it really about the conversion? This person is seeing it, but they're not really feeling hooked. They're not really getting the big idea. They're not like, "Oh, this retreat is the thing that I need to get me from here to here," and it's different. You know, is it the sales? Are people— they just need that little push off the fence. They need a reason to join now. They need a new touchpoint with you. We need to look at follow-up, you know, or is it that really— and, and we can look at— I have this like micro movement method. We can look at, um, you know, how we can take someone through the through line of feeling interested and then feeling like, oh my God, this woman's in my freaking head, right? And maybe we want to do like reach out and we want to invite a couple people, and we're like, there is one spot left and you have someone in mind, and it's that easy. Maybe it is like consciously following up. Maybe it is a visibility thing today. Maybe it is a you getting in the energy and speaking directly to her. And again, there's like an energetic energetic of how do I get people to sign up who are maybe on the fence versus there are so many women who are like really looking for this opportunity. They've got their card out, they want it already. They just don't even know that you exist yet. They're about to find you today. And that's the energetic of someone like you finding me. It's like I could speak to all those women who maybe were on the fence. They wanted to join Infiniti. They, you know, they're kind of ghosting and flaking. And I could talk about the power of investing in yourself and I could talk about like, you know, being on the fence and being flaky. And I could try to get people to do something, or I can really come back to this. There is a woman who is about to find me today. She wants to join something. She's ready for her next level. What is the version of me on and off screen that she is manifesting as her next mentor? Like, you know, where she is like, oh my God, she's going to find me today. And exactly what I posted about the retreat, she's like, oh, that is so sexy. That is so juicy. Yes, that's what I want, right? And so it's not coming from that convincing energy, from that magnetic energy of pouring into yourself, of like inviting, of showing visuals and photos of the retreat, and really like speaking about the retreat from different angles, speaking to that woman where she's at, what she's thinking, what she's trying, maybe her hesitation, and then even in a flirtatious way overcoming that, right? And I would workshop that with you today to, to treat for your retreat.
That's amazing. I love— I— that was such a gift to take everybody on this little behind the scenes, like inside the Chill Rocketship, and just kind of show them all the controls and how you get there. So what is one thing I should have asked you that I didn't, that we should have talked about?
I know this is the answer that like no one wants, but honestly, I feel like it's perfect. I'm like, honestly, I feel I feel like it always is. Like, you— you— one thing I always talk about is like, you can't fuck it up. Like, you can't fuck up your art ever.
You can't miss.
Yeah, you can get better. Like, it's not that— and I think when people hear this, they might be like, oh well, fuck that, because of course I can get better, of course I want to grow, of course like there are more people I could attract, there is more money I can make. Of course, right? But it's from a space of refinement and like, what can we add, what can we shift, what What can we improve next time? It's not from you messed up, you're missing something. It's from an artist's lens of like, look at this masterpiece. Oh my God, but you can do this and this and this and this. And next time, like the work gets better and better and better, right? But it's not because there's something wrong or something missing or a should. It's like, ah, what's possible from here?
Is that your definition of yes and? Yeah. Like just this, yes, we're gonna live life and we can't miss.
I love this. Like, yes, we are human and we are healing and we are like— it's, it's limitless, you know, in what we get to create. And there are roadblocks and there are challenges, and that's why we're here. We're here to experience it all, you know. I'm here to have fun. I'm here to, um, I'm absolutely here to celebrate. But at the end of the day, you know, I'm also here to live the full human experience. I think that one when we accept that and we acknowledge that, that we're not just here to feel good. My client, Shayna, will say, "I didn't get here by feeling good. I got here by getting good at feeling." She does somatic work. And, it's like, yeah, that's it. I want to feel it all. I want to experience it all. We want to touch it all and see, can every single thing be here for our constant refinement and evolution, the good, the bad, it's all copy, right? Nora Ephron would say it's all copy.
Well, I want to just thank you so much for being here and for your support of me already, your support of the women and the entrepreneurs that are listening to the Yes And podcast. And I know that you have this open invitation for anybody to voice note you in your DMs and get into your DMs. But if people do want to connect further with you, what's the best way to do that?
Yeah, Instagram is great. Like, I feel like I hang out there a lot. I share a lot. A lot, @shoshana_raven. I have my Living Brave podcast.
I'm gonna crawl onto that podcast and we're gonna continue this conversation because this was so good.
Yeah, yeah, I would love this. And so, um, yeah, we would love to hear if this supported you, if it resonated. You know, Bunny Young does this podcast, it's a free podcast, and so give her some love, let her know you're listening. Um, means the world, like screenshot, tag us, and, and we'd love to hear what landed so we can support more people.
And I can't wait to read all of those. I can't wait to get started. I love you so much. I appreciate you being here. Thank you for being in support of all of the women and coaches and entrepreneurs that are a part of my community, as well as just so many others, um, that are a part of your community. So thank you for, for coming and saying yes before I even signed up for anything. I just said, do you want to do this? And you said yes. So thank you.
Yes, of course.
And thank you to everybody at home, on the beach, wherever you took us to go, uh, listen. I always imagine that there's at least one or two people that are listening to us from the shower. So like Shoshana said, if you find the show helpful, it means the world to me if you would hit that follow or subscribe button. It does wonders for the show, especially as we're starting season 2, for people to find us organically. That is my mission. I'm Bunny Young, and I'll see you on the next episode.
