In order to have a healthy, peaceful business, you need to have a healthy, peaceful entrepreneur. How you build your business is so much more important than the results. We're operating from the survival system. We are trying to get our prefrontal cortex online. Take it from somebody with two heart conditions and a brain injury. Your health is a resource you cannot afford to risk and deplete. It doesn't take three to five days. It takes habit and consistency and cadence. Welcome back to another episode of the yes and Podcast. This is going to be a very special episode and I feel like I say that every single time. However, my producer has asked me to put together my 2023 takeaways and what I'm looking forward to in 2024. And then he came back and said, hey, that was such a good idea of mine that I'm going to actually ask you to take it to the we're doing a part two of my episode on my 2023 takeaways and my what I'm looking forward to in 2024, which there is something special that I shared in that episode. So if you haven't already, I would strongly encourage you to go back and listen to that episode. I'd strongly encourage you to go listen to all the episodes because I am here in the studio recording this for you and for your value and to move the needle on your business. Yes. And your life. You see what I did there? So. So I have some notes and responses from you, the audience on social media. This is another reason why it's always a good idea to connect on social media, whether That's Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, because I love to involve you in not just the content of this podcast, because let's be honest, I'm recording this for your value, but I also, that's where I go to to be able to ask questions and be able to have a conversation with you. And so the question that I had posed was that with 2023 wrapping up, as I'm recording this, what are some of the key takeaways and what are you bringing with you or looking forward to in 2024? And so here are some of the things that I got as a response. So this is from John and I'm gonna have him on actually next year on the yes and podcast. But he said, you got me thinking. There are so many. Here are some that hit me recently, though. Distractions and when to not do anything. I deleted everything from my phone. The only thing left is the ability to call, text and email and chess less about saving Time and energy and more about having a healthy break from it all. I'm three weeks in and I think I likely need another few weeks to truly be okay with it. I need to learn more about when to not do anything. I'm terrible at this, but I work so hard this year. I keep telling myself that I need and deserve a break. Not a three to five day thing, but a substantial break. And this is a theme people like. This is a huge theme. I just finished recording an episode with one of my coaches, Jackie, and she was talking about the thing that she's taking away from 2023 is. And this is something that I created a reel on on Instagram is. I'm gonna paraphrase it, but she was saying that in order to have a healthy, peaceful business, you need to have a healthy, peaceful entrepreneur. And what I shared the real on was your business can only grow as much as you're willing to. And so this is a huge theme for 2023. And I think it's because it's a coming out of the pandemic as well as people getting caught up in what a lot of my clients are coaches and this boom in growth in the coaching industry and trying to get on this wave and trying to do online organic social media and be on all these channels and be everything to everyone. And people are burning out right and left. It's also happening in corporate and I'm doing a lot of corporate trainings on psychological safety, which is probably not something that a lot of entrepreneurs think about. And it's something that is a huge buzzword right now in podcast episodes that I'm guesting on and keynotes that I'm doing and in content that I'm creating for corporations because there's a lot of people who are thinking that, oh, I need to shift jobs or if I get more money, I'll feel better or I'll be happier. And at the end of the day, it comes down to psychological safety because people's people in society right now, the majority of us are operating from our amygdala. And if we go back to it wasn't Happy Gilmore, what's the movie, right. Water Boy, right. The Abdullah Oblongata that the alligator is angry because it's operating from its amygdala. And we're not necessarily angry. There's some people in society that are angry. But what we're doing is we're operating from this survival system and that can be very difficult for some of us. And so we are trying to get our prefrontal Cortex online. And in order to do that, like John said, it's not. It's. It doesn't take three to five days. It takes a habit and consistency and cadence. It's one of the things that I love about our Defy program is that we're holding those individuals in that container while they're growing their business in a support system. And it's something that I don't love about courses and programs that are just throwing information at you. Because to me, how you accomplish the results in your business is as important, if not more important, than the results that you achieve in your business. Because if you work your butt off and burn yourself out and get the results, what you've taught yourself is in order to get the results in your business, you have to sacrifice your health. And your health is a resource that take it from somebody with two heart conditions and a brain injury and is about to give birth to her third child, your health is a resource you cannot afford to risk and deplete. And so this whole idea of hustle and grind and all of that, it's just not something that needs to be glorified in business. And so a lot of the posts that I saw and a lot of the responses that I saw to my question on your key takeaways for 2023 have to do a lot with rest and recovery. And so I hope that's something that you're also taking into 2024, is that how you build your business is so much more important than the results. Because even if you have your health, you have your sanity, and your business doesn't work out, you are not your business. So you can find something else to do in this world in order to make an impact, in order to make an income, in order to make the world a better place. I did not think that this episode was going to hit this deep or be this golden. However, I'm just on a roll. So I cannot wait to see how this tiny little episode impacted your life. Do me a favor and pop in, write a review, just hit the stars. It takes a millisecond to do. And the second thing that you could do that would just mean the absolute world to me is share this with somebody that you care about. Because I think the in this episode really needs to be heard by a lot of people in the entrepreneurial space and outside of the entrepreneurial space. And so there's somebody that you care about that you are wanting to know that it's okay to prioritize their health over the results that they're getting from their career and their business. Please click Share and give them the link to this episode that would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for joining me for this episode of the yes and Podcast.
