AgentKit turns an LLM into an API that handles natural-language requests and returns blockchain transactions. The demo shows it generating hackathon ideas, building a Gasless Crypto Gift Sender for USDC transfers on Base, and minting a custom ERC-20 token called Boge with a 666 supply.

Basically at Compass Labs, we made AgentKit into an API endpoint, where an LLM API endpoint where users can send natural language to the endpoint and the LLM replies to them. When we ask it to make a transaction on the blockchain, it returns an unsigned transaction. But in this demo, we made it return signed transactions just to demonstrate it. But what's the advantage of unsigned transactions? This is non-custodial.
How's it going, folks? Um, we built a front end first, but the front end is still a little bit buggy, but it works rather well in Python in the terminal at this moment in time. Now it's built on top of AgentKit, but we're able to ingest an arbitrary OpenAPI JSON schema and add all the API endpoints as agent tools to the agent too. So let's do something in the front end quickly.
Um, what's my Coinbase wallet?
and it works on 3 different networks: Arbitrum, Ethereum, and Base. Okay, so let's now switch to the terminal, and where there's a more stable experience for now, we're going to try and fix the frontend ASAP. So we're ingesting the CoinGecko OpenAPI JSON schema, the Compass API OpenAPI JSON schema, and it has all the agent tools provided by AgentKit by Coinbase. Okay, so please list all your Coinbase operations. And it's able to do 24 different actions using AgentKit. Now please list all your CoinGecko operations. Yeah, so here's all the CoinGecko operations. Compass API tools.
So here's some fun prompts we came up with to play, to use all these tools. So the first prompt is, I'm competing in a hackathon at the final hour. There is 1 hour left. You're a senior expert at hackathons. Please help me think step by step. Here's a description of the most innovative use of Coinbase AgentKit bounty at the ETH Denver hackathon. So I just copy and pasted the description of the hackathon from the website. You are the world's greatest hacker, Lukas Scheuker. Please read this description and come up with a use of your Coinbase tools from AgentKit to win this bounty. Only tell me your best idea. Make it extremely simple and elegant such that can be done in 1 hour. The era of autonomous on-chain intelligence is here. Use AgentKit to create an agent with access to crypto to do something incredible. Bounty category: feature usage. Prize amount: $8K. Yada yada yada yada yada yada yada. Requirements: use AgentKit to facilitate wood commerce and free payments, creating the best crypto UX using LLMs that abstract away complexities of natural language, or pushing autonomous agent boundaries by hosting them decentralized, paying for their own inference and financial rails. Doesn't have to be useful, just innovative. Bonus points for creating a Replit template, pushing a PR, or creating composable building blocks. Successful projects meet stated requirements. No specific requirement, but easier to— yada yada yada. So it came up with a charity bot that donates money on Base. The cool thing about Base is you can do transaction-free payments with USDC, gasless payments with USDC. Um, now we said, um, we're capitalists, try again, don't make it a charity. And it then, it suggested an autonomous crypto shopping assistant, which is actually a good idea. And, um, but this is still too, too big for me to implement in one hour. So let's make it even simpler. Give me something even simpler. Just use your Coinbase tools. Here's a straightforward idea using only the Coinbase tools to create an innovative solution for the hackathon. Project Gasless Crypto Gift Sender. Implement an agent that allows users to send crypto gifts to friends and family without worrying about transaction fees. This is actually a rather good idea. We can actually do this with— so let's go to our UI and see if we can actually do this. Okay, please use your Coinbase tools. Well, maybe please list your Coinbase tools first. Let's move this over here. Okay. Now where is this? Transfer. Yes, transfer. Send some of the wallet's assets to another address or ENS base name. So we can actually use transfer. Okay, um, can you please— now what's my personal wallet? Can you please transfer me, um, 10 cents worth of on Base transfer me indicates— how do I paste in PyCharm?
Can I do this?
Yeah, so we can actually set up a gasless payment interface for friends and family that requires no programming knowledge on Base. Which is a good idea. Yay! Okay, so let's check me wallet. Okay, um, BaseScan, here we go. Hmm, we got some ETH 36 seconds ago. Okay, well that's a cool use case. And I came up with another one here. So this prompt is: I want to become a millionaire by selling ERC-20 tokens. Please mint me an ERC-20 token called Boge with symbol BOGE and total supply 666. Okay, let's go. Okay, so let's just see if we can find this on our thing. 38 seconds ago, we created a Boge contract. Boge? Let's see. 666 Boge. Woohoo! On base! Okay.
