Dr. Aziz argues that waiting for the perfect moment is pointless: it will never be easier than now. He also says you're stronger than you think, and the only way to find out is to push past what feels comfortable.
Chapters
Hey, Dr. Aziz here. And I want to remind you of two things that will help you to build more confidence so that you can steer your life. I think that's an important thing to start with, that building your confidence allows you to steer your life. It allows you to create what you want to create, date who you want to date, be in a relationship with who you want to be in a relationship with, where you feel like the selector, make something meaningful with the work that you do in the world, feel more comfortable and confident in your own skin so you can create better connections, better relationship. Like, all of that comes from confidence. So that's fantastic, right? Well, there's two things I want to share that creating that confidence, it's never going to be easier than it is now. It's not going to be easier in the future. I think that's a delusion that a lot of people tell themselves to avoid getting outside their comfort zone and doing the things that are uncomfortable that they know will grow them. It's like, well, it's going to be easier later. It's too hard now. I don't know. Later. It's not going to be easier later. There is no later that's better than right now. So that conversation that you're avoiding, you know, the way you want to approach people you're attracted to, the way you want to speak up at work, the kinds of tasks you want to do at work, starting your own business, whatever the confident move is, the bold move in your life, it's not going to be easier later. I think it's a very important thing to just state very clearly. Which leads to the second point, though, which is the good news. You are stronger than you think. You are capable of way more than you think. And if you don't feel strong, if you don't feel capable, if you don't feel like you can handle it, that doesn't mean that you aren't strong, capable, and able to handle whatever comes your way. The problem is that you might not be stressing the system in a positive way. Right. Think about how do you build strength physically? Do you do, like one block lap around your apartment complex and then call it a day? Well, maybe if you're extremely out of shape, that's where you'd start. But no, you. You have to go beyond what you are comfortable with. You have to get a little bit out of breath. You have to maybe lift something that's heavy to get stronger. You got to push that edge. And until we push the edge, we don't get stronger. We don't see our strength. Our strength isn't like, called out of us. But when you do that, when you push that edge, then all of a sudden your strength emerges, it comes and it allows you to face whatever you need to face, to step up and do whatever you need to do. So it's not going to get easier. Whatever it is that you want to do, whatever comes to your mind, whatever you're putting off, it's not going to get easier. So when's the best time to do it? Well, when would now be a good time? And the second thing, though, that helps us is you're stronger than you think. Yes, you can handle it. Yes, you will. And that will be proven to you as you step into the unknown, as you take that risk, as you move forward. So with that in mind, what are you going to do? Share down below in the comments until we speak again. May have the courage to be who you are and to know on a deep level that you're awesome. We'll talk to you soon.
