Dr. Aziz explains three signs that someone is "way too nice": (1) avoiding conflict and suppressing feelings, (2) overextending by saying yes to every request to avoid disappointing others, and (3) withholding opinions in conversations for fear of judgment. He frames these patterns as harmful to relationships and promises follow-up videos showing how to change them.

If you're doing one or all three of these, then you're being way too nice. The first thing, when you're too nice, you don't want to upset anybody. You don't want to have conflict, you don't want to have disagreement. And so you keep everything inside. You suppress. You smile, you're the nice guy, and your relationships suffer. You suffer as a result because you're suppressing and hiding. The second sign that you're way too nice is you overextend yourself. You'll say yes to every request because you're terrified of disappointing people. If I disappoint you, then I'm not safe, then I'm bad. And so you're walking on edge. And you have to hop to try to make sure everybody is fulfilled and happy around you all the time. The third sign that you're way too nice is in conversations, you don't directly share your opinion. You don't have a strong opinion. You don't say, this is what I think, because what if you don't think that? What if I step on your toes? What if you judge me because my opinion is different than yours? And so when you're living your life from these niceness patterns, you're not really living your life. You're being who you think you're supposed to be for other people. So stay tuned, watch my upcoming videos. I'm going to show you how to break every single one of these patterns.
