A short YouTube talk by Dr. Aziz giving three concrete strategies to manage impatience and neediness when awaiting an outcome (e.g., a job or a date). He opens with a mastermind call anecdote about someone obsessively checking email, then recommends: (1) physically step back and breathe to break physiological tension; (2) remind yourself you don't need the outcome — happiness isn't outcome-dependent and something better may come; (3) redirect energy into creative or productive work. He closes by noting letting go both improves wellbeing and can increase the chance of getting what you want.

Is it possible to feel way more patience, way more at ease about getting something you want and not needing to feel that neediness or grasping or impatience? Whether it's a date you want that person to respond to you, or a job offer, Is it really possible to feel totally solid in ourselves? That's a question that came up in my, one of my mastermind calls. I was just running recently and the person in the group had a job opportunity and they were very excited about the job. They applied for the job, they got a second interview for the job and they were waiting to hear back and they were frantically clicking their email all day long. And you know, they didn't hear back in two days. And they're like, it's over and it's torment. Right? I'm sure you've experienced that. We all have. And how do we come to that place of patience, that place of being solid and centered in ourselves? I want to share three tips with you today that will help you do the just that. The first one is to take a step back and breathe. And I mean literally, like take a step back, like stand up from your computer or wherever you are when you're stressing about it and literally change your physical body position and location. So you're sitting at your computer, you're refreshing the, you know, the messages, seeing if they responded to you. You're all stressed out, you're all grasping. Stand up, walk around your room, take some full breaths. And that will cause you have to do that to start to break the pattern. Otherwise, if you try to apply these other tips while clenched and tight, your physiology is not going to allow for a shift in your psychology. So tip two, then once you're moving around and breathing is to remind yourself of the truth. And here is the truth, my friend. You want to tell yourself, I don't need this. I might want it, but I don't need it. My happiness is not dependent upon this particular outcome. And it might have a part in your mind that's like, are you crazy? Of course I need this. I need this because of this. And there's going to be tons of stories that are frantically going in your mind that are going to want you to go right back to your computer and keep checking. But actually you want to remind yourself of the truth, that you don't need this, that your happiness, I mean, how many times have you stressed about an outcome like crazy and, and then gotten it and maybe it felt good, maybe you felt some relief, but then a day later or a week later or whatever you're back to the same, like now I need this next thing. So that's an illusion that this one thing, this one job, this one date, this one person is going to make you feel totally at peace forever. You know where the happiness comes from, where the confidence comes from, where that feeling full inside comes from. It actually comes from letting go and from knowing I don't need anything to happen out there for me to feel okay in here. And when you really get that, when you really let go, you can feel some relief inside. So just keep reminding yourself of that. I don't need this, I'll be okay. And remind yourself that if you don't get it, something better is coming. If I don't get this job, if I don't get this date, something better is coming. So it helps you really see that the universe has got your back. You don't need to grasp at this. It's gonna happen in some way or another. Just keep reminding yourself of that as you move and as you breathe. And then the third tip is refocus your energy on something else. So if you go back to your computer, you go back to work or whatever, don't just go right back into checking the email because there's no way to repeatedly check your email and feel at peace, feel relaxed. You're gonna start to feel desperate and needy. So work on a project, do something creative like focus your energy on what? What am I going to create? What am I going to do? What am I going to do now? Because that's what I have control over. And if you absorb yourself in that after doing this letting go process, you'll feel way more relaxed. And here's the final beautiful tip. The more you do this, the more you let go, the more relaxed you become. Guess what? Not only do you feel better, but you actually release some of the grasping desire energy which ends up often blocking what, what we really want anyway. So you increase your chances of getting the outcome that you want. So it's a win win. Awesome. So where are you using this? How have you used this in your life? Share below in the comments what you're getting most out of this video and I can't wait to speak with you again in the future. Until we do, may you know on a deep level that you're awesome.
