Can't leave your house right now. You stuck inside getting a little stir crazy. Here are three ways to thrive during social lockdown. During this coronavirus outbreak. So many people, when they first start happening, are like, oh, okay, don't go out as much. Alright, alright. You mean like at all? Oh, less, less, less. And it gets more and more and more restrictive and people start to feel really limited and lonely and isolated. So let's shift that. Let's help you really not only get through this, but actually find a way to thrive with this. Because I believe in the principle of utilization, which means no matter what happens to us in circumstances, in our lives, circumstances in a global community, I mean, whatever it is, no matter what happens, I'm going to use this to grow, to benefit, to contribute. The principle of utilization. So let's take that mindset and find three ways to thrive during social lockdown. So number one is gsd. Get shit done. I mean, come on, you know, you got something around your house that you like been putting off forever. It could be a physical task like organizing mail, or that filing cabinet that you have, or that closet that you need to go through and gather all the stuff you're gonna get rid of and you know, put it in your trunk and be ready to take it to a drop spot if that's still happening, or wait till things have calmed down and then go put it away. Get rid of it. Right? Just do something. You know, there's something sitting around for me. I have not finalized, like, basic stuff regarding estate planning. So we have a will, but it's like, I don't know, I think there's a few other steps to make it official and there's a few other things I need to do, like prepare some basic documents that I've been putting forever. It's like, all right, well, now's the time to do that, right? So gsd. Get stuff done. Get shit done. Whether you want the PG or PG 13 region. Okay, so number two is reconnect and contribute. Reconnect and contribute. This is actually. I mean, we live in an incredible time with technology that you can actually really profoundly connect with people quite easily. And that doesn't necessarily mean like posting something on their Facebook page that could feel connecting. I'm talking about real deep connecting, like a phone call or a video call where you actually talk to them for an extended period of time. Not just texting with them, but really connecting with someone. When's the last, like, who in your life would you like to have a more extended conversation? I'm talking 20, 30 minutes maybe. Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you talk for like an hour or maybe even two hours and just keeps going and going and going and they say something, you say something. Next day, okay, I gotta go, I gotta go do this thing in a few minutes. And then another 45 minutes goes by, you're like, or, I really have to go now. But the conversation is so engaging. Have you ever had one of those? You can have one of those right now, today. Create the space, create the time. I mean, in our lives we can be so go, go, go, go, go. So busy, so focused on other things that we're like, I'll get to the relationships later. I'll talk to my parents later, I'll talk to my brother or sister later. I'll talk to my good friend later. I'll slow down and really connect with that team member or that colleague later. Why not now? Why not today? And it's reconnect and contribute. Because in that reconnection, you have something to contribute. What can you add? If you go into connection with this question of how can I contribute? How can I add value? How can I give something? Then it makes it so much better for you and for them. So what can you offer? Maybe someone you can support in your life is struggling, they're anxious or they're concerned about something, or they're down about something, or you want to just like, hey, what's going well in your life right now? What are you excited about? You know, you can steer the conversation any way that you want, but you are contributing something in that conversation. And maybe you can even go beyond reconnecting with just family members and friends and other people in your industry or business. But who can you really contribute to? Who needs your help right now? What gifts do you have? And contribution doesn't have to be dramatic. Maybe it's sending a message to somebody. Maybe it's recording a little audio or a little video and sending it to someone that you know is really going to warm their heart. It's about how much you love them or how much you appreciate them. Maybe it's sending a message to someone that you know needs to hear a certain message. Who can you contribute to? How can you contribute? What gifts do you have right now? Maybe there's something that you can teach that you've been holding off of. You've been scared to put your book out there or your videos out there. I don't know if I'm good enough, right? Well, now is the time. People need you Maybe you have something to offer. Maybe you can teach them something. And it could be literally about what's happening now in the world, but it could also be like, maybe you're an amazing guitar teacher and you've been wanting to teach guitar for years. You have these videos you started doing, but you haven't put them out there very much. People need to learn that. Right now, they're trapped in their houses. That's the perfect time to start learning the guitar. In fact, that brings me to the third point, which is the third way to thrive during social lockdown is to master something. Because if you're just filling the time with mindless entertainment, with Netflix show after Netflix show or movie after movie, that's gonna get old. That's when people start to go stir crazy. Because at first you're like, wow, I could watch five hours or seven hours or something. And then you do, and then you're restless, then you're bored, then you're agitated because you're not filling yourself. You're not nourishing yourself. So the way that we do that is through mastering something. What's something that you want to get better at? What's something that you want to learn? What's something you want to put some time into? Maybe there's a book you want to read or listen to. Maybe there's a program you want to go through, perhaps Confidence University. This might be a fantastic time to go through Confidence University and adapt some of the exercises that involve going out there and doing stuff in the world. Adapt them, get creative. And I have a ton of creative ideas I'm gonna be sharing on this channel, too, about how to practice social confidence while social distancing is occurring. But if you're unstoppable, if you're creative, if you're not looking for an excuse to not do this stuff and you actually want to grow in these ways, you'll find a way, you know, study something, master something. Because if you invest in yourself now, then when this thing lifts, you're gonna be more capable, more creative, more powerful, more to contribute, more, to give more value. That's gonna bring more into your life and others, too. So those three things are how to thrive during a social lockdown. One is to GSD get stuff done. Number two is to reconnect and contribute. And number three is to master something or put your energy into mastering something. Develop that process right now. Beautiful. Share down below. What are you doing to thrive during this time of social lockdown? Let's all support each other and connect until we speak again. We have the courage to be who you are and to know on a deep level that you're awesome.
