Dr. Aziz delivers a short motivational video on the idea of "win blindness" — the tendency to overlook or dismiss small personal wins due to overly high success criteria and an excessive inner critic. He defines what counts as a win (any positive step or action), explains how discounting wins erodes motivation and confidence, and gives a concrete practice: notice and track daily wins (e.g., write at least one down, share wins in group settings) to build confidence and momentum.

Because when you master confidence, you master your life. It's the master skill. So when blindness, what is it? Well, basically, when you're blind to something, you cannot see it. And most people that I talk to that are struggling with confidence have an excessive inner critic that's telling them they suck. And they, they have win blindness. They don't see their wins, they don't see their greatness. They don't see what they're doing and creating and achieving already in the world. So, couple quick terms. What's a win? Well, a win is defined however you want a win to be. Most people, when I ask them what a win is, they're like, you mean like when I beat someone at chess or something? Like, it doesn't have to be a formalized game that you won. A win is anything that's going well. A win is how you show up. A win maybe is you taking a bold action, taking a risk, going for it, speaking up, doing something you never did before, doing something that you've avoided before. You know, taking a positive step for your fitness, for your health, for your relationships, for your work, for your career, sitting down and doing a project you've been avoiding, working for two hours in a focused way and moving the ball down the court. Those are all examples of wins. You get to decide what your wins are. But here's the problem. Most people don't decide what their wins are. And they tend to assume that nothing is a win because their criteria for winning is crazy high. It's unrealistic. Super expectations. Well, in order to win, here's what I need to do. I need to get the promotion of the year and be the fastest one to have gotten it in the company and first, and it's got to be more than the last time. And, and, and, and that's in Say, the career realm. Or like, well, I gotta meet that great person and we gotta go on that date and it's gotta be flowing and I gotta be funny and charming and they gotta like it. And then we gotta, you know, of course, have a second date and it's gotta go really well. And then this and that and then that and, and, and, and, and, and, and what happens is people feel like they win once a year. Cause they got so many criteria on their wins. And then when they do experience one of the million other things that could be considered a win, smaller things, little things, they say, eh, get out of here with that. That's not a win. That's lame. You know, making a healthy breakfast. What am I, five years old? Come on. That doesn't count as a win. You know, doing a healthy workout. That doesn't matter. I didn't break any records today. I'm not ripped yet. We just discount everything along the way. And we think somehow it's going to motivate us to go further. Here's the secret. Wins are the motivation. Wins are the fuel. Because when you feel like you're winning, what do you want to do? Play again when you feel like you're losing? Have you ever been on a sports team and, like, just been losing and losing badly? Like, I used to play a lot of soccer when I was young. And you're on a game and it's not like 1 to 1 or 2 to 1. It's like 6 to 3, 6 to 2 or 6 to 1 or 6 to 0. And you got like 30 minutes left on the clock. And you're like, okay, we should probably try really hard to catch up. But I mean, they're just crushing us. How long until this game is over? You just kind of wait out the clock, right? At least that's how I played soccer. And I mean, is that how you want to play your life, waiting at the clock? I don't think so. So stop discounting the wins. That win blindness is. You just. You say, uh, doesn't account, doesn't exist. You dismiss it. Stop dismissing it. Start acknowledging it. And the way you acknowledge it is you. You track it. You say, what's a win from today? And you write it down. What's something that went well? What's something that went my way? I do this in all the group calls that I run for my Mastermind programs. We start the call with let's hear some wins. And it's to ingrain us. It's to train us to focus ourselves on that. Because it's always available if you focus on it, so you might want to start writing down your wins. Maybe one a day, maybe more. Beautiful.
