The speaker emphasizes normalizing brief absences (e.g., short walks or hourly breaks) and owning that choice without apology.

Have you ever experienced a sense of overwhelm in social situations? Maybe you want to retreat, you want to withdraw. You're very anxious inside. You might even just feel like you don't kind of checked out. Like you're almost not even really there. What people don't realize is this can sometimes be social burnout. And that doesn't mean that you've been socializing for 24, seven for weeks and weeks and weeks. Some people have a bit of a lower battery. I'm actually one of those people. If you're going to be around people like all day, like, oh, we're going somewhere for this weekend or at this wedding, and there's going to be people everywhere for three days and we're all hanging out nonstop. Uh, oh, you need to bake in some time to take care of yourself, some alone time. I was just helping a client with this earlier this week where literally choosing, okay, after three or four hours of hanging out, I'm gonna go take an hour to myself. And I might do that multiple times a day. And instead of being apologetic about it, you just casually let people know, okay, I'll meet up with you guys in a little bit. I'm just gonna take a little time, go for a little walk. You own it. Usually people give you no issue. You take care of yourself, you recharge your battery, you're ready to go.
