A short motivational YouTube monologue by Dr. Aziz (video titled 'But, I'm Scared...') advising that confidence is built through action and risk-taking. The speaker reframes fear as universal, rejects self-criticism, and recommends 'titrating' risk into very small, tolerable steps—admit fear, then take incremental action. This is the biggest obstacle to building lasting confidence. Because as you probably know, confidence is a byproduct of action, of risk. That's the only way to build confidence. And if that's new information for you, I'm so glad that you're here watching these videos now. The biggest obstacle to that is I hear it all the time, but I'm scared. I'm scared to take the action. And you know what? People get critical of themselves. They feel like they shouldn't be. They call themselves names, they try to beat themselves into taking actions. You can never beat yourself into confidence. The most powerful way to shift this is to just admit and everybody's scared. And it's not about getting to a point where you're not scared. It's about leaning into the level of fear that you can tolerate. So break it down. I call it titrating it back. Make it as small and simple of a step as possible where you can handle the fear and then take that action. What if everybody's scared and we get to take action anyway?
