Dr. Aziz introduces a short on-location vlog-style social experiment filmed in downtown Portland. He explains he'll be appearing on the Portland Today TV show to discuss workplace anxiety and confidence, and plans to spend ~20 minutes before the show asking people to tie his necktie (he admits he doesn't know how) as a test of bold asking and handling rejection.

Hey, Dr. Aziz here. And I am out and about in downtown Portland on a beautiful spring day, and I'm carrying a tie for a social experiment. Let me explain what I mean. I'm just out front of the studio where they shoot Portland Today. It's a TV show here in Portland, Oregon, that I'm gonna be appearing on. They're gonna be interviewing me about anxiety at work and how we can show up with more confidence. And you'll notice I'm wearing my spiffy duds suit and the beautiful shirt that my wife just got me. Fantastic. Here's the thing, and here's the social experiment. I don't know how to tie a tie. I'm 34 years old. I made it this far in my life, and I still don't know how to tie a tie. Now, this suit would look a lot sharper with a tie, wouldn't it? So here's a social experiment. I'm gonna go into that studio. I got about 20 minutes before the show starts, and my mission is to find someone there who can tie my tie for me. Do you think I could do it? Well, it's going to require a lot of bold asking, probably some rejections, but I'm pretty sure I can. So I'll keep you posted to see how it goes. And check out Portland Today to see about how to crush your anxiety at work and show it more powerfully. Talk to you soon.
