Confidence Power Tip: Break The Hesitation-Regret Cycle | Dr. Aziz - Confidence Coach

A short coaching episode by Dr. Aziz (Art of Extraordinary Confidence) explaining the "hesitation–regret cycle": when people hesitate before bold actions they later regret not taking. Dr. Aziz argues confidence is a byproduct of taking action, not a prerequisite, and encourages viewers to choose action over plausible excuses, accept possible short-term embarrassment, and build momentum by practicing small bold moves over time.

And honestly, the most important thing you can master in your life is your confidence. And one huge piece of confidence, which you know by now is to take take action. You probably hear me banging that drum in every single one of these videos, and you already know that, so that's nothing new. But there's something I've seen. I see this even in clients, even in people that I'm working with regularly who really get how important it is to take action. They still make this mistake. So if you're doing this, I want to help you break through that right now in this video. And that mistake is what I call the hesitation regret cycle. So there's a bold action you want to take. And here's a secret. If you don't already know this, confidence, which is what you want, is a byproduct of that bold action. Confidence is a byproduct of that action. You might think you need more confidence. I need more confidence to go approach that attractive woman and start a conversation. I need more confidence to speak up and raise my hand and share my ideas. I need more confidence to be able to do X whatever it is for you. The truth is that when you do X, when you raise your hand and speak up, even though you're scared, when you go approach that attractive stranger, even if you're terrified inside, the act of doing it, you doing it is what builds confidence. So here's where the cycle, the hesitation regret cycle is so damaging for our confidence, because there's that moment I'm gonna. And then we hesitate and hesitation. Maybe it's not that dramatic. Maybe you're not like, I'm about to. Maybe it's more just like a passing. Oh, I could talk to her. Nah, she doesn't look that open to talking to people right now. No, this is not the right setting. No, this isn't a bar. So I can't approach someone. No, there's a man within 500 yards of her. Obviously that's her life partner who's going to come attack me. Whatever made up stories we have, right? So we say nah. And then we're in the meeting. And instead of being like, I'm going to speak up, I'm going to. I'm going to. We might not even be that close to action. Might be like, my ideas aren't that valuable. I don't know. Maybe I don't know enough yet. Maybe I should do some more research. We always have a very plausible excuse to hesitate, right? And we've all been there. I've done it too, right. I still do it now. And then I have to catch myself. So we hesitate, we don't take the action. And then we feel what? Regret on the way home. On the drive home, it could be immediate, like, oh, why didn't I do that? Or it could be a week later or a day later, or the worst kind of regret. Month, months and months go by and you're like, man, I really regret not doing that thing. Not taking action. So here's how you break free of the cycle. Are you ready to break free of this? You have to realize this one thing. You will never regret the actions that you take. You will never regret the actions. The regret comes from inaction. The regret comes from not doing what you want to do. Because if you take action and you don't get the result that you want, you might feel some pain. Maybe you feel embarrassed. You know, you give your idea in the meeting and people are like, that's not very good. Or you go approach that stranger and they're like, what do you want? Right? And you get some rejection, you get some embarrassment, you get some pain. That could happen. That's unfortunately probably going to happen in your journey to greater and greater confidence. But you won't regret that. Like, you will the no action now. You might beat yourself up afterwards and that might feel like regret. Oh, I shouldn't have said that. Oh, I shouldn't have done that. But you know what? That's just a toxic pattern of your critic. And you got to push all that aside. I got tons of videos on this channel, and if you want to get in my program, the confidence code, which teaches you exactly how to neutralize that voice. You can take bold action consistently without attacking yourself if it doesn't go right. So you have to get into action. And when you do, you'll start to eliminate that regret. And here's the thing. Hesitation builds on hesitation. Action builds on action. You can build momentum in either way. You can either get more and more entrenched, more and more stuck, or you can decide right now, like right now as you're watching this, that you're going to get into action starting today, starting the next moment and into action, and build it slowly over time, step by step by step, until your do muscle. You know, just doing. I'm going to do that. I take action. Your do muscle is huge, dude. And that's what you want. You want a huge do muscle. So share your comments below.
