Dr. Aziz gives you a small dare to test your social confidence in public, like asking a barista to surprise you in a funny voice. Most people won't try it. The point is to learn you can handle the awkwardness and come out more confident.

I dare you to do this in public. Honestly, 99% of people won't do this. And that's what I've found is the people that I work with who start with social anxiety, who are more worried about other people, think if they really learn from me and practice what I'm teaching, they become more confident than more than 99% of people. Do you want to try it? Test it out, see what happens? Here's the invitation. Go into a coffee shop or a counter restaurant where you order at the counter and order something unusual, or order it in a way that's unusual. So the person's like, what would you like to drink? And instead of saying, I'll take this drink and walking out with your head down, you say, surprise me personally. Like what? Surprise me. And you say kind of a fun, playful way, like you're a 18th century noble person or something. Like, surprise me. Right? That's just the first thing that comes to my mind. There's a thousand ways you can be playful with this, but the key is to do something a little unusual on purpose and realize that you'll survive and that nobody cares and you're free.
