You're going to want to watch this all the way to the end because here's why. You're going to learn the biggest source of power that you have. And what I mean by power is not power over, which means I can control you. Good luck trying to control anyone. And it's actually empowered. You have personal power. You have the ability to go do what you want, say what you want and be who you want in the world. To me, that's power. And I bet that's your definition as well. So let's talk about how you can do that, what that is. And really, as we know, I mean, that's a powerful source of confidence too. So what is it? Is it the ability to speak up for yourself? Is it the ability to approach someone smoothly and suavely so you can influence them? What's your greatest source of power? What do you think it is? Is it your muscles? What is it? What's your greatest source? Is your money? Is that your greatest source of power? I don't think so. I think our greatest source of power is one word. You ready? Choice. Choice. Choice. Now hear me out, because that's not very sexy. It's not as sexy as money or sex. But check this out. Here's why it's powerful. You always have choice. You are always choosing. And this is take it one step further. You're choosing everything. What does that mean? What I'm describing here is being in a place of total ownership of your life. Not being a victim, not being kicked around by life, but being in total ownership and realizing that you always have choice. There's always more choices than you realize. And you're choosing how to respond to everything that occurs. So let's break this down a little bit further. What are we choosing? Well, we're obviously choosing our behaviors, right? I can choose to lift this arm or that arm. I can choose to eat that, but not that. I can choose to go workout or not. I can choose to watch TV or not. I can choose to jump up and down or not. I can choose to approach that person or not. Now, let's just pause for a second, because some of those you're like, yeah, left arm, right arm. Sure, sure. I'm with you choosing to eat something. Yeah, technically. Although I don't. I don't know if I always do. Now go talk to that person or go speak up or go do that bold action. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I can't do that. Did your mind do that? Happens all the time with clients. They're like, no, I can't. And they forget their power. They have hypnotized themselves into thinking that they don't have that power. No, I can't do that. And the truth is, you can. You're just scared of how it's going to go because you're imagining that it's going to go badly. Right. But the truth is, you have choice. Now, you could say, listen, I don't want to experience fear. I don't want to experience an outcome that feels unpleasant to me. And then I might judge myself and feel embarrassed. I don't want to feel any of that. So I'm going to choose not to approach that person. I'm also going to choose the consequences of that action, such as loneliness, isolation, feeling down, feeling more anxious, and feeling depressed. I'm going to choose all that. Thank you very much. Now, most people, we don't say that we don't have that level of self awareness. We just say, I can't. And when you do that, you're giving up your power of choice. And this video is all about helping you reclaim your power of choice and to remember that you always have. What choice? Where else do we have choice? Check this out. You're choosing your feelings. What? Now listen. Choosing behaviors. Okay, I was with you, Aziz. But choosing feelings, that's blasphemous. These feelings just happened to me. I just get depressed. I have depression. It runs in my family. I have anxiety. My mom was anxious, and so was my dad, and so was my uncle, and so was my distant aunt Kathy. It's genetic. We're all screwed, right? That's what we have. Messed up brain chemicals. Here's the thing. Sure, anxiety might run in your family. You might have more of a propensity to feel anxious. Who knows? There's tons of modeling that we learn. You probably learned anxious behaviors and patterns and ways of thought from your parents. And still, no matter what your background, in any given moment, we are choosing what we feel. Now, here's the reason that people get upset by that, and you might be a little irritated by that is because the choice about what we feel is usually unconscious. We're not saying I'm going to feel anxious right now. That would be fantastic. No, we just feel anxious and we don't know why. It's just happening. It's because it's out of our awareness. But what is creating that? Well, what we're focusing on in the moment, the stories we have about it, those people don't like me over there. I'm anxious. I look stupid today. I'm anxious about how people are going to judge me. And some of those are not even, A lot of those are not even conscious. You don't even know you're doing it. So what we want to do is we want to remember I have choice around how I'm feeling. And we often choose things that meet our needs, you know, to feel certain or significant or to feel important or so we can feel connected to ourselves. But, and I go way deeper into that inside of my in depth program, Confidence University, that takes you step by step from no matter where you are to a life of confidence. It's the most in depth interactive confidence training program on the planet, most powerful. It's based upon 15 years of research and it's incredible. And it's accessible to everyone in the world and it's extremely affordable. Confidence.university.com youm're going to want to check that out. Confidence.university.com but it's like, think about University, but like, understand all of this stuff, your psychology and how to get into action, everything. But you're going to learn in that program and in this video, you're choosing your feelings. You always have choice, and that's what I want you to remember. And just when you're in any situation and you feel like this is just happening to me, anytime you feel like something's just happening to you or you have to do something. Now, we either tell ourselves in our heads, I have to do it, or we just feel that way, like, fine, I have to pause, say, wait a minute. I always have choice. I'm choosing to do this. I'm choosing to be here. I'm, I'm choosing to engage in this. Even if you're, let's say you're going to a job and you hate your job, and you're like, screw you, Aziz, I'm not choosing this. I gotta do this because I gotta pay the bills. Well, well, that's interesting. I'm choosing to pay My bills. Cause there's some people that don't. And you're like, yeah, yeah, very funny, Aziz. I got a mortgage. I got kids. I gotta pay my bills. Okay, well, you're choosing to live in that house. You're choosing to not move. You are choosing to go to that job to earn your money. You're choosing to not go to a different job to earn the same amount of money or more money or less money, but you enjoy it more. You're choosing all of that. And then if you notice yourself defending against that and saying, no, no, there's no other jobs out there. The economy is terrible. I'm lucky to have this one. Really? Do you really know that? Like, no other jobs ever in the whole world, right? Do you see how quick we are to give away our power of choice? Why do we do that? Why do we do that? Why do we adopt a victim stance to life? It doesn't feel good, doesn't empower us. Why do we do it to meet our needs? Because, hey, if it's not my fault and this is just life happening to me, then there's nothing wrong with me. It's just life is shitty. It's just that my job is shitty. The world out there is kicking me around, and I don't have to take on the responsibility and I don't have to face my fear. And I get a sense of certainty that it's all not going to work out. So let's break all those patterns right now and say I always have a choice. Say it with me right now. I always have a choice. Go ahead and say it again. I always have a choice. Say it again. I always have a choice. I am choosing everything. Awesome. Thanks for being with me today.
