Dr. Aziz argues that confidence directly increases income, but not the shallow kind. The confidence that matters is believing you can earn money in any situation: after a layoff, a failed business, a career change. It lets you set clearer goals, take bigger risks, speak up at work, and deliver more value to employers and customers.

Does more confidence equal more money? Hmm. It's a good question to ask, right? Well, it's worth exploring. So the question I'm asking is, as your confidence goes up, does your income go up? Does your ability to earn more money in the world go up? Now, we talked about money confidence in the last video. And while earning more money is not the solution, just if you have more money, you're automatically going to become more confident with money. But increasing your capability, your sense of, I can earn money in the world, I know how to do it, I can do it repeatedly. If this business fails or I get laid off here, this job goes down, you know what? I can earn money somewhere else in the world that I take with me no matter where I go. That. That kind of confidence in your ability to earn money in the world, your capability that is going to skyrocket your money confidence. And does confidence lead to that? Does confidence lead to you being able to generate more money in the world and know that you can do it? I would say yes. And I've seen this again and again with clients. Even clients that come to me because they want to work on social confidence or dating and relationship confidence or something else. When they apply those principles to their work life, when they start to want to focus on work, all of a sudden, boom, things shift in their career and in their work life, and they start to be able to have more opportunities, more income, more increases, more promotions. All these things occur as our confidence grows up. Now, here's the thing. Why would that be the case? Well, pretty much everything that you want to be able to do to increase income, in fact, let me ask you this. How could you, if you wanted to earn more money in the world right now, what would the pathway for you be? It's different for everyone, right? Maybe you're in a particular job, so maybe it would look like a promotion, or maybe you run a business so it'll be expanding the business or growing it in some ways. But what would it be for you? Now, whatever's coming to your mind, maybe the first things that pop into your head, the main reason that we don't do them is a lack of confidence. So confidence leads to things like speaking up in your company so that you're seen more as a leader, and they're more likely to be promoted or behaving more like a leader. Making decisions, holding people, accountability, having direct, real conversations, crucial conversations with people. All of these things require confidence. And those are the kind of things that make people promote you in a company. Same thing. If you run your own business. I mean, that man. Confidence is the name of the game, right? So starting the business in the first place. There are so many people that I've talked to who have a great business idea, and they're like, yeah, I could totally do this or I could totally do that. But they're still working in their company and they're not doing those things. Why? Because of a lack of confidence. They might tell you it's a lack of time. I just don't have the time. I'm too busy. I'm too burnt out after work. But the truth is that there's a fear there of putting themselves out there, a fear of saying, you know what? I'm going to offer value directly to the marketplace, not through a company, but through my own creations, which eventually could turn into a company. But right now, it's just me offering this to the world. That's freaky. I'm scared of rejection. I'm scared of failure. I'm scared of people judging me, so I'm not going to do it. So confidence plays a role in not starting the business, or if you have a business, not making it thrive, not growing it out of. Again, fear and a lack of confidence. I don't want to promote myself more. I don't want to put myself out there more. Same stuff, right? What if someone judges me? What I. If. What if it's not good enough? So all of these things come together to block us from making the steps that we want, and confidence is what allows us to do that. And then even within a business that's going well. And that's one of the first things I look at with a business owner, someone who wants to grow their business. And they're looking at, we're doing confidence coaching around that. What we look at is what is it that you know or think would grow the business but scares you is uncomfortable. Because that's the name of the game when it comes to growth in business is doing things that are outside your comfort zone, doing things where. Where the outcome is uncertain, doing things where you could fail, and being able to get out there and do them again and again and again. And guess what that takes. That's right. Confidence. So as your confidence grows up, your ability to earn more money grows up. And there's four things that I want to point to that I think really make this the case. So the first thing is, as your confidence goes up, so does your clarity. This is something a lot of people don't realize, but that's one of the main Things when I or someone on my team does confidence, coaching with someone, we're looking at, what do you want? What do you want to steer? Because here's the thing. Confidence is a currency. Confidence is the thing that allows you to be able to go do something in the world. It's great to have a lot of confidence, but confidence for what? Confidence to date. Confidence to put yourself out there. Confidence to connect. Confidence to not take on the judgment of others and feel more secure in yourself. Confidence to earn more money. What do you want to do with that confidence? So clarity is a big part of confidence. People who are confident, they have an idea of what they want now, it might change, they might be wrong, but then they steer and they course correct and say, you know what? I guess I didn't want that. Now I want to go this way. Much, much, much better to be the kind of person who says, you know what? I'm going to go after that. Okay, now I want that. Okay, now I want that. As opposed to the person who sits there on the sidelines never doing anything. I live this way for a long time, so I know what that's like. Just waiting, saying, maybe I want that. I don't know. I'm not going to take any action. Maybe it's that. Nah, I just don't know. That doesn't serve you getting in the game. So confidence helps you get clarity. Clarity helps you go after what you want. Especially if you're like, you know what? I want to earn more money. There's a client that I worked with, one of my mastermind programs, and he brought this up in the call multiple times. He was a professional. He's like, I want to earn more money than I do, and I want to do it doing work that I enjoy more than the work that I'm doing now. And so he focused on that. On every call, he'd be talking about it, we'd be looking at it, we'd be exploring ideas. And sure enough, lots of ideas came up from me, from him, from other group members. And guess what? Every single idea that came up, that was a possibility to be able to go earn money or network or create connections. Guess what his initial reaction was? Ugh. Ugh. Fear, right? That's true for all of us. So he needed the confidence to go after it. So confidence leads to clarity, leads to taking, to be able to go after what you want to earn the money. The next thing, which I almost just said reflexively there, leads to taking what? Confidence leads to bold action. Confidence leads to bold action. In fact, the confidence is the byproduct of bold action. So people who are building confidence are taking bold actions and building confidence so they have more confidence to take more bold actions and you get this virtuous cycle going. So the more confidence you have, the more bold action you're going to take. And guess what? Bold action leads to money. Yeah, sometimes. And sometimes not, right? Bold action leads to results. And the results might be more money. If that's what you're going for. The results might be a better job, the results might be a promotion, the results might be more sales. And they might not be. But then you'll find out and you'll learn something. You say, you know what, that didn't lead to more sales. Let's try something else. So bold action is going to be what's going to get you into the path that you need to find and create the wealth that you want. So more confidence equals more money. Things get you into bold action. The third way that confidence leads to more money. The connection that I see is internal. It's self esteem. Because oftentimes we don't. All the stuff I was talking about, not putting yourself out there, not speaking up, not being a leader in your own life, in your own business, in another company that you work for, it's not that you're not capable, it's not that you're not smart enough, it's not that you don't have things to offer. It's not any of that stuff. It's purely self esteem. Oftentimes I've seen this and we'll have a future video about this. It's what I would call professional confidence. And a lot of people can have self esteem in their social life or they're married and they have a great family life and then they come to work and their professional self esteem, their professional confidence is lower and they're just like, I don't know, who am I? Meh on some level. And that just puts a dead weight on your ability to serve more in the world and as a result earn more in the world. And so as your confidence goes up, your sense of self esteem goes up. You start to know that what you bring is valuable, that who you are, your presence contributes in the world, your skill set is of value to the world. And then when you show up in that way, guess what? Well, that was reflected back to you. And so you feel worthy of being able to take on that leadership role. You feel worthy of earning money, putting a service out there and getting paid for it. Does that make sense. Okay, so the fourth way that confidence leads to money is value to the world. You add more value to the world. Because here's the thing, if you get clarity and you start going after what you want, you're taking a lot of bold action. Some's going well, you're getting successes, some's going poorly, you're getting failures, you're getting lessons. And then you start to increase your self esteem. Guess what you're going to do as you do those three things? You, my friend, are you going to keep adding more and more and more value to the world? Value to your company, value to your employers, value to your customers, value to the marketplace. Value. Because you're getting better and better. You're putting yourself out there more. You're getting better. You make mistakes and you learn. You educate yourself and you can do it better and you can deliver your service even better. You can solve problems in your company even better. And as a result, you're delivering more value. And that is where money comes from. Money is a reflection of the value that you add in the world, especially if you're willing to do it consistently over time. So if you add that value, you will get more. And the more value that you add, the more money that you can get paid. So that is another way that money confidence leads to money. How else? What do you think? What have you seen?
