Imagine if I never recorded any videos or wrote any books or put any podcasts out there or did anything. Think of some of your favorite musicians or sports stars or authors or anyone that you really look up to and have benefited from their creations. Does someone come to mind? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe somebody who's handsome standing in his office right now talking to you. Somebody, Right. Imagine that person had never done that. Are you watching this video? Maybe this is the first video of mine, but probably not. You know, have you benefited from these videos or my books or anything I put out there? And have you benefited from these. This music or the work of somebody that you admire that's helped you, that's inspired you, that's moved you, that's brought emotion to your life through music, through art, through something? Imagine that person never did that, because that person and me and everyone who's putting something out there in the world has that same voice that you do that says, who do you think you are? Your stuff's not good enough. Stupid. Don't do it. People aren't gonna like you. That same voice, you hear it all the time. You hear, like, these big, mega celebrities, they're like, you know, secretly inside, I'm still insecure. Right? Everyone's got that. Everyone's got that voice. The difference is. What? What do you think the difference is? That's right. That voice didn't control them. It didn't drive the bus. It didn't dictate how they were gonna live their life. There was another part inside of them that said, I am the captain of my ship. I'm gonna determine my destiny, and I'm gonna go do this thing. Now, when they went and did the thing, whether it's that movie star went to go be in Hollywood or that sports athlete or that handsome confidence coach guy put out videos, what did they do? They took that action. They didn't listen to that voice. They took the action. And then. And then it was like one success after another. It was just like, whoa, you want to be in Hollywood? Yeah, you got the goods. Let's put you in a blockbuster. And then that athlete, he, like, you know, practiced a little bit, and you're like, yeah, you got the goods. We're drafting you. The NFL. Or I put out a video. And it was like. Just like so many people watched it, and everyone's like, yeah, this guy's got the goods. Let's make him a mega YouTube celebrity. Is that how it worked? No, no. We all know this. They took action, and it didn't work. And then the voice in their head said, you see? Who are you to do this? You're a nothing. You're a nobody. Bad and stupid. The difference is they did not listen to that voice. I did not listen to that voice. You are not listening to that voice. That's the voice of doubt. The voice of doubt will continually compress you in your life to where you get smaller and smaller. And this. Imagine this screen is your whole life. You're living your life down here. You're like, can I come out now? Doubt. No. Okay, go further. Further down. But then I'm not even in my own life. And that's how we live. Not in our own lives. That's why the number one regret of the dying is I lived a life that was not my own. I did what other people wanted me to do. And I never discovered what I really wanted. And I never lived it. I didn't have the courage to live it. I was afraid. And I let doubt control my life. But fortunately, you're not on your deathbed now. You might be. I don't know. And there's still time. There's still time. Most likely you're not. I'm hopefully not. We never know when that's coming, though, do we? So how do you want to show up? If that voice of doubt had no power to stop you, what would you do? That's one of my mantras. Do what scares you in the service. Do what scares you until fear has no power to stop you. That's level one of it. Level two is do what scares you in the service of something greater. Right? Because what's it gonna bring to your life? What's it gonna bring to the life of others if you don't listen to that voice of doubt? I talk to people all the time who have amazing contributions to their company, to their families, to the world, to the marketplace, to business, to everything. To their friends, to their kids, to their parents, to their relatives. The more you're fully in your life and you come alive, the more you benefit everybody. And you coming fully alive doesn't mean you succeed at everything you try. It doesn't mean that every swing you take hits. It doesn't mean that everyone likes everything you do. That's all about you being obsessed with, am I good enough? And do people like me? And you can live in that cage forever, or you could choose right now to be the captain of your own fucking ship. Then decide, I am gonna live. I am gonna choose. I decide. Just try that with me right now. Say, I am the captain of my ship. Go ahead. I'll wait. Alright, one more time. I am the captain of my ship. Who's the captain of your ship? You are my friend. So let's decide right now to not let doubt define you. You defy the doubt. You do the impossible. And you create an extraordinary life of confidence. I know you can, until we speak again, may have the courage to be who you are and to know on a deep level that you're awesome.
