A short spoken monologue by Dr. Aziz arguing that doubt and thoughts are noise beyond full conscious control, but individuals retain control over how they show up in life — their choices, behavior, and values. The piece contrasts uncontrollable internal experiences (thoughts, feelings) with manageable external responses and personal agency.

Doubt is just thought patterns. It's just noise. You don't have control over every thought in your head. Well, I can't 100% say that for sure. Maybe you do. I've never met anybody that has 100% control of every thought in their head, 100% control of every feeling that they experience. No, you don't have control of that. What do you have control over? You have control over how you choose to show up to whatever life brings you. And that includes the external world, circumstances, event, people, fortune, good fortune, bad fortune, the vicissitudes of life, gain and loss, all that stuff that's just coming your way. And then there's your thoughts, which are responding to all the information in life around you. And sometimes they feel good, sometimes they're negative, and they're just all over the place. Right, and your emotions are all over the place. So what do you have control over? You have control over how I am going to show up today, who am I going to be today? What kind of values am I going to live by? Am I going to be direct? Am I going to be honest? Am I going to listen to what I think is true and right and real and go for it, make the best choices that I can? That's what you got, control. So how am I going to show up to those thoughts?
