Dr. Aziz (speaker) gives brief personal-development advice about overcoming embarrassment and insecurity. He identifies the common impulse to hide perceived flaws (teeth, dark circles, hair loss) and prescribes a single remedy: own and openly share those traits rather than conceal them, which he says dissolves chronic shame and fear.

If you feel embarrassed or insecure about something about yourself, there is only one way to truly, radically change that and free yourself so you're not chronically living in fear and shame. And here's the most common impulse. It's to hide it. I don't want people to see this about me. I don't want people to know this about me. And so it's either a secret or something you don't share. But you could live your whole life embarrassed about something that everyone can see. And people are embarrassed about their teeth or their appearance. I've talked about dark circles around my eyes, or people are losing their hair, like, oh, my God, I'm so embarrassed. And it's like, you can hide it. And so now your whole life, you're just walking around feeling less than and feel. And there is only one way to break free of that, and that is to own it and share it and not hide it. And so you don't wear baseball hats because you're balding. You don't hide your arms if you don't think they look good. You don't hide that information about yourself. You share it. You own it, and the embarrassment evaporates.
