A short motivational talk by Dr. Aziz advising listeners to overcome the fear of rejection by intentionally seeking rejection experiences to build resilience. He argues fear of rejection limits expression and offers practical, provocative exercises (e.g., asking strangers for money, lying down in public) to habituate oneself to being rejected and judged.

Ultimately, there is only one way to free yourself from the fear of rejection. And right now, that fear, whether you know it or not, is holding you back in significant ways. It's stopping you from speaking up, from sharing, from asking for what you want, from approaching people, from even just being spontaneously yourself and laughing freely or sharing freely. That's all being restricted by the fear of rejection. And there is only one way to liberate yourself permanently from that fear, which is to get rejected. Yay. I mean, no one likes to hear that one, but it is the way. And there are hundreds of ways to do it and practice it on purpose. One is to just walk down the street and say to 20 people, some of them are going to reject you by ignoring you. You can go up to people and ask them for $100. Pretty much everyone's gonna reject you for that one. You can go find a busy sidewalk area and lie down for three minutes just like you're taking a little siesta. Make sure you don't get stepped on, and people will give you strange looks. They will reject you, perhaps by judging you, and you'll realize you're just fine.
