Dr. Aziz (speaker) addresses discomfort with being vulnerable and frames vulnerability as an individual choice. He states two core points: (1) vulnerability is a choice and (2) you don't have to be vulnerable. He warns that never choosing vulnerability can lead to loneliness, and suggests that selectively choosing to be vulnerable on your own terms can increase confidence and deepen connection.

Does being vulnerable make you cringe? You don't want to share about yourself. You don't people to know certain things about you, especially if it's maybe things that don't make you look great or you're not perfect. It's super uncomfortable. I kind of grew up and trained myself to be not vulnerable with people and yet now you see me on these videos sharing a lot about myself. What happened there? Well, I realized two things. One, vulnerability is a choice and number two, you don't have to. So there's a pressure like I have to. I'm supposed to. No, you don't. No. But you do get to choose to. And if you choose to never be vulnerable, even people close to you, it's a lonely life. And so if you want to feel more confidence, more connection, you ultimately might need to choose being vulnerable on your terms when you want. And watch how much your life can change.
