How To Defeat Doubt? #selfdoubt #draziz #confidencecoach

Dr. Aziz presents a short motivational lesson on overcoming self-doubt. He argues that doubt itself is not the root problem; the real issue is how we relate to and give authority to doubt. Doubt often speaks with false certainty and an agenda to shrink our choices ("downsizing"). His practical prescription is to actively defy doubt—take small acts of courageous contradiction ("Watch me")—which, if repeated, can redirect your life within days, months, and a year. So if doubt's not the problem, what is? Because doesn't doubt seem like the problem? That voice in your head that says you can't do it, it's not going to work out. They're not going to like you, don't try. Oh, but what if it doesn't work? Right? We all know doubt. I don't need to sit here and tell you about it for a long time. You know it. We all know it inside and out, right? So if that's not the problem, what is? Well, here's the thing. The problem is you're relating to the doubt, the way in which you communicate with and relate to the doubt. Now, that might sound a little strange, but let me lay it out for you. Doubt will be a thought. It'll be a perception. It'll be prediction of the future. And your mind is generating those things all the time. But for some reason, when doubt comes a knocking, here's what most of us do. What was that? What was that, Oracle? What did you tell me about my future? Let me sit down at your wise feet and listen to my future. Please continue. Never going to work out. I'm a nobody. I'm a nothing. I'm a loser. It's too late for me. Well, thank you. Thank you, Doubt, for these wise words of wisdom. And I shall follow your counsel and now shut down all my future dreams and plans. So what's the problem here? The problem is that you buy into the doubt. You immediately give it authority. And I think this comes from a mistake, that the doubt is one accurate or two guiding you somewhere. And let's address both of those, because either One can hook you that it's accurate. Why do we think our doubt is accurate? Well, here's a fascinating thing about doubt. A lot of people think doubt is like a questioning or an uncertainty. Like, I don't. I just don't have. I don't have certainty. I don't have faith. I have doubt. Right? No, not in this case. The way that doubt works for you and just observe this in yourself. I've seen this myself and clients, that the doubt is actually very certain, but in the negative direction. Isn't this so. So it doesn't say, I don't know how those people are going to respond to you. Hmm. I'm uncertain. No, doubt says those people aren't going to like you. Your presentation is going to go poorly. You're going to mess this up. You're going to make a fool of yourself. That person that you love is really. Don't tell them you love them. Oh, my gosh, that's going to repel them. You're going to destroy your relationship. Don't ask for help here. Don't put yourself out there. Don't share. Oh, no, something bad's going to happen. And when that voice of doubt kicks in, we lock up and we believe it because it's so certain. But how does that voice know that? How do you really know the future? And if you're with someone who's totally certain about the future, like, dude, this is how it's going to go, and you really, really believe them, then go to Vegas. I just take a road trip. Go to Vegas. They're certain. What's it going to be? Red or black? What should I put all my money on? Right? So we know. And most people wouldn't. They'd be like, I don't know. I don't want to waste. I don't want to lose my money. Right? Because we know that even though the doubt is certain, it doesn't mean it's accurate. So you have to start to question that. Like, how is it so certain? Because this leads to the second purpose of doubt, which is doubt is not about predicting the future accurately. Doubt has an agenda. And the agenda is to. Let's have you find out. If you were to believe the voice of doubt that says you're nobody. You can't make it. They aren't going to like you. Your business is going to fail. You can't achieve what you want. Right. That's generally what it's saying. Here's the question I want you to ask yourself. Where is that doubt leading you? Where is it leading you? If it was true and you were to follow its projections, its predictions for the future, you were kind of to succumb to it. Where's it leading you? And the answer, my friend, is always down. It's downsizing, downsizing, downsizing. Don't put yourself out there for that new work opportunity. You're going to fail. What does that mean? Stay small, go smaller. Don't put yourself out there romantically. It's going to fail. Smaller, smaller. Don't do this, don't do that, don't do that. And it's always leading you down. Smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller. So when doubt comes a knocking, then you hear it, certainty. And you say, where are you leading me? Okay, I was just talking about this with a client recently. She's like, I've missed, you know, the first 40 years of my life. I didn't speak up enough. I didn't put myself out there. I didn't build relationships because doubt had her under its thumb. Now she's in her 40s. Now she's in my mastermind program for a year and growing. You know what doubt's saying? It's too late. It's too late. You never were, you never will be, never can be. And I said, well, that's a really depressing narrative. What's the way out? Is it just like your life's a kind of a wash already? Is there any possibility of something else? And of course, according to doubt, the answer is no. But we don't believe the doubt, we don't listen to the doubt, we don't feed the doubt, and we certainly don't succumb to the doubt. Say, oh, yeah, this is okay. No, we defy the doubt. In fact, take a breath in with me and say that out loud. I defy doubt. You ready? I defy doubt. Try it again. I defy doubt. What does that mean? When the doubt says, don't go talk to that person, what do you do? Watch me go talk to the person. Doubt says, don't take that risk. Don't send that email, don't speak up, don't do whatever, Say, oh, yeah, watch me. And if you defy doubt consistently enough, in days, your life will start to change direction. And in months, you could have a whole new set of life circumstances. And in a year, you could be a radically different person, probably ultimately the person that you're really meant to be on this planet. So thanks for being with me today.
