Because sometimes I let people know of flash sales or promos or different things about my books or programs or live events or whatever and it's a great way to stay connected. So let's talk about step two. I'm just gonna assume you saw step one and you can do that on your own time. Step two. Now you've started to question the stories. Is it really possible that I can't do something? Maybe I can right now. What do you got to do now? You have to surround yourself with the right people. You have to surround yourself with the right people. Now you might have heard this before. You might have heard some statistic about the average of our income. Our income is the average of the five people we spend the most time around. I don't know if that's a true stat or one of those personal development stats. Like 93% of what's said is or communicated is not the words that we use. I've never actually found the study that demonstrates that, but it's one of the most or that we only use 10% of our brain. There's lots of stuff. So it might be one of those studies, those, you know, research says or it might be true, I don't know. But I do know that who you surround yourself with determines everything. And here is the secret about that. Here is the best possible thing to do. That and something I am so grateful for, which is the era that we live in right now. You can surround yourself with people without actually knowing them personally. It's amazing. So back 100 years ago, whatever, to surround yourself with those people, you have to move to a different city or break into some super secret club like the Freemasons or something. But now YouTube is incredible. Audible is incredible. Podcasts are incredible. You can get access to people who have the exact mindsets, the exact strategies, the exact people that you need to learn from. You can learn from the best in the world on whatever thing that you want to have that breakthrough in. So in the last lesson, I was talking about how I've been using and doing the impossible in the realm of physical health. So I listened. I immersed myself first and foremost, when I had to get out of, like, I'm broken into. I'm physically powerful, I have an autoimmune condition to. There's nothing wrong with me. I immersed myself in authors and teachers who taught all about mind, body medicine, spontaneous healing, the psychophysiological, like the way that our mind and our body are connected and how we can actually heal ourselves and. And how in a lot of ways, there's actually nothing. The source of our pain is not some broken physiology. It's actually a mental emotional pattern that creates constriction and problems in our body. So I immersed myself in those books. I listened to them all the time. I'd be driving somewhere, I'd listen to it, I'd be walking somewhere, I'd listen to it, I'd be running somewhere, I'd be listening to it. And at first the writing was very painful, but I would do it and I would listen to it and then I would stop. So immersing myself in that. But as I. As I became more and more healthy and realized, wow, there is really nothing wrong with me, I was less drawn to those books. And you know what I started listening to? I started listening to a book you might have heard of. It got a lot of publicity a while back called born to run. McDougall. That the author's name? I don't know. Born to Run it up. Christopher something or other wrote it. Phenomenal book, but. But in it, it's just story after story of these people who do crazy shit with their bodies. I'm gonna go run 140 miles in death Valley in the summer. You're like, what? You can do that that's possible? So when you surround yourself with the right people, what's possible starts to just become very fluid, right? And so then I started immersing myself. Scott Jurek was one of the ultra athletes from these books. I Listened to, both of his books are on audible. I probably listen to Dean Karnassis who runs like 100 miles and then 200 miles and then I don't know, a million miles runs to the moon and back or something. But it's just, you're surrounded by that and all of a sudden what might sound crazy and extreme all of a sudden becomes very, oh well, that's nothing. So this guy's Talking about running 150 miles and all of a sudden I'm like, I could do a marathon. Why not? Why not just do the Portland Marathon? It's 26 miles. That's just a warm up. Nevermind that I've actually never run that distance myself, but I'm immersed in these guys worlds, right? So you've seen this problem in other areas of life and if you haven't, then you might want to start doing that. So maybe you're immersing yourself in my world here with this YouTube channel. Fantastic. That's what I did as well. When I was transitioning to a whole foods plant based diet. I immersed myself in different YouTube people and watch them cooking stuff and watched how they worked out and watched what they did and watch their activity levels and how they ate. And you just surround yourself with those people and maybe you know, some of those people in real life too. I remember I got invited to this high level online coaching business summit through one of my mentors and there's about 50 to 60 business owners there. They meet once a year. I've been to it three years in a row now and I am the smallest fish in that pond. I, my business is like, it's a fledgling little like at first, the first year I went there, I was like, I did everything myself basically almost. And then each year progressively I've had a bigger team and more people that I subcontract and work with. And each year you go there and you just, you hear the way they talk, you hear the way they think. It's just totally different. You know, instead of like, yeah, I did it all myself on the computer. It was so hard. They're like, well, we had a team meeting and this is how we discussed how the sales team was going to go, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, sales team, eh? Write that down. And then blah, blah, blah. So I had the tech team build out the website. I was like, you didn't build it yourself. Tech team. I don't know why I lick my finger before I write with a pen. Why? I don't know. Anyway, that's what I did. So all of a sudden, it just shifts your reality. So you got to surround yourself with the people who are doing what is totally impossible for you. They're doing the quote impossible. And you don't just hear it once. You don't just dabble in it. I was talking about this in the mastermind level, the higher mastermind level that I have, and a guy was talking about having gotten a book and read through a little bit of it, and I was like, no, no, no, this isn't dabbling. Like I say surround yourself. I mean, immersion. Immerse yourself in the world of these people. And here's the thing. If whatever you're pursuing, that's the impossible is truly what you're meant to do, what you're called to do. Your heart is inspired by it. You don't have to force yourself to sit there and be like, I'm gonna listen to this stuff for three hours a day. This is so boring. Ugh. No, it's not like a class that you don't want to take. It is your calling. It's your heart pulling. I didn't have to force myself to listen to these stories of these crazy runners. I wanted to. There was something in my heart that would sing at the idea of imagining, wow, is that possible? Would that be possible for me? No. No. Until it is. And that's what we're going to talk about is in the next episode of this show, which is gonna be all about how to really start to put this into practice and step three of doing the impossible.
