How To Find The Courage To Put Yourself Out There

A short motivational YouTube talk by Dr. Aziz about finding the courage to "put yourself out there." He asks listeners to imagine having unlimited confidence, enumerates domains for self-expression (art, career, relationships), names common fears (judgment, failure, loss of respect or love), and reframes risk with a physical "leap" metaphor. He emphasizes that courage is willingness to act despite fear, that the action matters, and invites viewers to share how they will put themselves out there.

How do you boost your courage so you can put yourself out there in a bigger way? What does putting yourself out there mean? Well, it means something to you, right? Is there. If I were to ask you that, if you had a hundred percent confidence, unlimited, unstoppable confidence to put yourself out there into the world in any way, shape or form right now, what would you do? What would that look like? When I ask the question to people that way, there's always an answer, even if you're kind of scared to say it, but there's something inside of you. Like your heart is like, I can do that. Well. Well, I would do this and forget about that. It's got to make a lot of money or that it's got to be impressive or it's got to be the best. Just like what gifts do you have to give? What form of expression would you want to give more space to right now, right in this moment of your life? You know, would you create something? What would your creations be? Is it music? Is it art? Is it singing? Is it pictures? Photography? Is it you saying your ideas more freely? Is it some sort of expression that you could capture in video or audio or pictures and then share with the broader world online? Is it writing that you could post somewhere in blogs or in a book? Or is it something in your career that you could be more expressive, putting your ideas, your thoughts, your work, your projects out there in the company or even in the broader industry that you're in? It's you putting yourself out. And of course, you could. You can put yourself out there in love and dating, right? Like, here I am, here I am on a dating site. Here I am at a dating app. Here I am, you know, telling my friends, you know, hey, I'm. I'm looking for somebody, and here's who I'm interested in. Or this is the kind of person I'm interested in, right? Like, really open up your mind to think about all the ways you could put yourself out there and pick one right now that just excites you that if you were to imagine not, oh, my gosh, that's scary to do it, but imagine you're on the other side of it. You've already put yourself out there and just how great it would feel. And heck, just for this thought experiment, imagine you get the greatest feedback in the world, and people are like, oh, we're so glad you put this out here in the world. And we love it, and we love you and you're the best. So what that does is that calms that safety police, that's like, no one's gonna like it. I can't do it. And it helps you connect with the true voice of your essence of you about how you are meant to express and share and be and do and all that you're meant to become in this world. So now that you have access to that, question I have is, do you have the courage to do it? I'm not asking whether you're scared. I'm not asking what your critic or your self doubting voice thinks, what they are going to think of it, that it's not good enough and it's not going to work and why should you do it and people are going to judge it and blah blah, blah. I'm not asking any of that. I'm asking do you have the courage to do it? And it's a yes or no. I'm not talking about comfort here either. Might be very uncomfortable. And you might say, well, that's why I'm watching this video. I got to have the courage to do it. Okay, how can you find the courage to do it? I can't give you the courage. I can't, like, you know, here, take, take courage. Courage is a willingness to do what scares you. So if you're scared to put yourself out there, join the club. That's part of being human. What are you scared of? Face that right now, here with me. What are you afraid of? Someone judging you, calling you stupid, saying your work is awful, saying you're an amateur, you're a loser, you're a beginner. How dare you? How dare you put yourself out there. I don't like you. I don't want to date you, I don't want to hire you. I think your project's stupid. Your business idea is awful. You're going to lose money, you're going to lose respect, you're going to lose love. What are you afraid of? And face it right now, because courage is not, oh, I've overcome those fears and now they're all gone. No, it's, those are the fears. I see them, I name them, I face them. Let's go. So how do you find that courage? Well, one thing is on the other side of the fears, the fears are like, you know, this putting yourself out there is almost like a leap, right? It's like a leap into the unknown. And think of like as a physical leap. Like if you were going to leap across a, a ditch or a chasm or something that goes down here's level ground. The ground drops down and then it gets level here and you're going to jump from here to there. You know, when you're focusing down on the. In the ditch. Oh, those are the doubts. I'm going to fall in the mud. I'm probably going to break an ankle. It's going to be terrible. What if you focus on the other side of that? So, yes, there's a risk of putting yourself out there. People won't like it. It's not good enough. You get judged. But what's the positive benefit? What could you experience? How could you positively impact others with whatever you want to share? Is it possible that someone could listen to your music and laugh and cry with joy and love? Is it possible that someone could see your art and feel inspired and open? Is it possible you could put something out there for business or your career and people would want to hire you or pay you or support you? Is it possible you put yourself out there in a dating relationship context and you find an amazing human to spend the rest of your life with? Look, if you want to create something extraordinary, you gotta leap. You gotta jump. And the courage comes from you claiming it right now and saying, this is what I'm moving towards. Yes, I could fall, but it's worth it because I want to create that because it matters. And that's another key piece of finding that courage is acknowledging that it matters. Because so much of our courage is lost because you say, ah, who cares if I put my stuff out there? It doesn't matter. It's not very good anyway. It's not going to make that big of a difference in the world. I mean, there's a million artists out there, there's a million musicians out there, there's a million authors out there, there's a million businesses out there. What do I have? Well, yes, there's a million of all those things, probably more than a million of all those things, but there's going to be a million more and then a million more after that. This year, next year, the next year, the next year. So are you going to be one of those or not? Are you going to be on the sidelines? How long have you been on the sidelines? How long are you willing to stay on the sidelines? Does it bother you that your life is passing you by? And if it does and you're agitated right now, maybe, just maybe, that would be the grain of sand in your shoe that finally irritates you to say, you know what? I'm going to do something about this, I'm going to do something about it. Today I'm going to put myself out there. So share down below in the comments how you're going to put yourself out there and until we speak again, may have the courage to be who you are and to know on a deep level that you're awesome. Talk to you soon.
