A short advice video by Dr. Aziz arguing that people often withhold their opinions not out of politeness but from fear of conflict, judgment, or social rejection. He advises viewers to decide that they won't please everyone, accept being allowed to hold differing views, and to practice sharing opinions boldly to build confidence and resilience.

There is one major reason that you hold back and don't share your opinion freely. And it might seem like you're doing something polite or good, but actually this can really be harming your confidence and your relationships. Because the reason that you're holding back is not that you're so good or polite. It's because you're afraid of someone getting upset with you. You're afraid of the conflict. You're afraid of the disagreement. You're afraid of them judging you and saying, I don't want to be your friend anymore. I think less of you because you like this group or you think this philosophy. And so holding back just perpetuates it and keeps you stuck. Here's what to do instead. You need to make a decision. Decision that I am not for everybody, not everyone is going to agree with everything that I think, and it's safe. And I'm allowed to have a different opinion. And guess what? You're allowed to have a different opinion. Your opinion could be in stark contrast to mine. And I'm okay, and you're okay. And the only way that you're going to get this is not from watching me in a short. It's from going and practicing it right now, today. Take the risk. Be more bold. Put your opinion out there and watch that you can handle whatever comes back your way.
