How To Get More Of What You Want - Dr. Aziz, Confidence Coach

Dr. Aziz (confidence coach) uses a personal anecdote about a "bear stone" that went missing and then reappeared to illustrate the power of letting go and acceptance. He argues that releasing attachment (to objects, relationships, outcomes, jobs, clients) reduces stress, creates inner resilience, and often leads to desired results arriving naturally. He reinforces the point with a dating story and cites Pema Chodron’s idea of "unconditional confidence." The video closes with a CTA to subscribe and share experiences.

Hey, Dr. Aziz here. And I want to talk with you today about how a story about a bear stone can help you get everything that you want in life. What do I mean? Well, here is the bear stone. I have it here on my little altar that I like to go to at work. That's the bear stone. See it? It's pretty sweet. They're called token animal stones. I don't know what they're called, but these little stones that have different things on them. I got a bear stone, a wolf stone, because you got to have a wolf stone. Wolf paw stone. I have a couple of different varieties. My wife got these things for me. My kids love them. I think they're awesome. But. So what does this have to do with getting everything you want? Well, let me tell you. So maybe about a week ago or so, I brought this into the house. Probably my first mistake. Then Armand got it out of my pocket, probably my second mistake. And then it was chasing around the house, and we put it somewhere, and I put it here, and then I got. Brought it there. And then all of a sudden, like an hour or two later, I was like, where's that bear stone? And if you're a parent of young kids, you know that she's probably gone or underneath the. It could be in the most random place, right? Hide stuff under the couch, you know, whatever. Anyway, so I looked around for it that night. Couldn't find it. Over the next few days, I kind of looked around here and there. I asked Candace, hey, let me know if you see it. Have you seen it? Blah, blah, blah. And I was kind of frustrated and disappointed. I was like, ah, man, I like that. I shouldn't have brought it in. And then about after four or five days, I was just like, you know what? It's okay. I liked it. You know what this stone represents? Supposedly, according to the card, you can have whatever meaning you want for it, but what it represented, according to the creator of these, is physical strength and mobility, which was really cool because I was working through some health stuff at the time and feeling stronger and healthier in my body. So I was like, oh, the bear stone. And then I was like, oh, maybe the bear stone came into my life and gave me what I needed, my strength. And then it went away, and I just, like, totally, 100% let go. I was like, oh, that was awesome. I really like that stone. I don't need it. It's fine. And then the very next morning, guess what turned up. The bear stone. Right. So this is a powerful lesson. It's the lesson of letting go. It's the lesson of acceptance. And you probably have seen this in your life. Whether it's a dating situation. You're all hung up like, oh, God, are they going to text me back? Is she gonna text me back? Did he like what I said there? Did I do, ah, what should I say? And you're kind of stressing. You're stressing. You know, you text them a couple times, they haven't responded. And maybe you had a great first date, but you're like, but do they not like me anymore? Was it not great for them? And you're really obsessed about it. The solution there is to let go. And I know that's easier said than done, but when you do, powerful things happen. First and foremost in your own psychology. You relax, you realize that you're okay. And that's the secret. Letting go and acceptance is not resignation. It's not, I don't care. That's just a front. I don't care anyway. No, you do. But the key here, this is the key around acceptance. I'm okay either way. I'm okay if I find that stone or not. I'm okay if this client says yes or no. I'm okay if people want to buy this program or not. I'm okay if this person wants to date me or not. I'm okay if this work deal goes through or not. And at the highest level, if you can get to, like, I'm okay if I keep my job or not, you know, I'm okay if, you know, people in my family are healthy or not. Now, obviously, we don't want these, you know, unpleasant things to occur to us. You know, job loss, family health issues. We don't want those things. But to realize, like, I'll be okay is the true source of acceptance. And there's a tremendous power in that because you're tapping into something greater, like you're trusting in something greater than yourself. And then when you do and you really let go, you feel better, but stuff just happens. Stuff just comes your way. People say yes to you all of a sudden. If you really let go, you'll be amazed. Most likely you will get that text in the moment you let go. I've seen this happen again and again. And comment below if you've seen this happen in your life, because it's really interesting stories. I'm gonna share one more real quick with you. I remember this was a number of years ago when I was dating, and it was that scenario where had been a number of back and Forths. Maybe we'd even had a couple of dates. And I was. And I wanted to see her again. And I reached out and she didn't respond. And then I waited a couple of days and then I reached out again and didn't respond. I was like, this is weird. Like, we were kind of. It was going well and I was really like, obsessed and like, what did I do? And really hung up on it. And I'll never forget, like, the specific moment where I let go. I was like, you know what I'm saying? I'm going to take a shower. I'm just going to kind of relax. And I start in the shower. I was just like, look, I was okay. I mean, I'd only been seeing this woman for like a month, right? I was like, look, before she existed in my world, I was okay. A month ago, I didn't even know that she was alive. And I'll be okay. I'll be fine. I don't need anything from her. Just like letting it go. And then I got out of the shower and guess who had left a voicemail. Oh, sorry. I was this and my phone that and I didn't get back to you. Let's hang out. What can you let go of? What can you just accept and release and know that you'll be okay either way? And that is a deep source of confidence. That's what Pema Chodron, a meditation teacher, calls unconditional confidence. Not confidence of, like, things are going my way, so I feel great. Oh, they're not going my way. I suck. Confidence, unconditionally, I'm okay, I can handle, I trust, I let go. And whatever happens in life, I'll be okay. So use that.
