Dr. Aziz addresses how excessive self-doubt holds people back and offers a practical, embodied technique to shift out of doubt: a Tony Robbins–style incantation. The video explains how doubt manifests (fear, hesitation, rumination), leads participants through standing, gesturing, breathing, and loudly repeating 'I will believe, not doubt,' and finishes with a call-to-action to take decisive steps from that empowered state.

Is doubt stopping you in your tracks? Or maybe not so completely stopping you, but perhaps just being a pretty annoying headwind or like a big ball and chain that you're dragging with you, so it's slowing you down significantly. That's what I want to talk about in today's video. And, you know, doubt's present for everybody. Excessive doubt. A lot of self doubt is a hallmark of low confidence or social anxiety where we just don't believe that we can. Or, you know, I can't pull it off. I can't complete that project. I can't get that job. They wouldn't hire me. That person wouldn't date me. It's not gonna.
You know, you can all sum it.
Up to, like, it's not gonna work out.
It's not gonna go the way that I want.
That's the essence of doubt.
And then there's all the results.
You know, maybe we feel afraid and we feel hesitant to try, and then.
We feel stuck and we feel frustrated, then we feel angry, then we feel resentful, then we blame other people, and then we blame ourselves, and then. And then.
And then we feel joyful and great in our lives, right?
No, no. Doubt is linked with a lot of suffering.
And there's many ways to work with doubt. But I want to share one today that I love, which is there's a incantation that Tony Robbins leads at his live events. And there's different. It's just an incantation is just an affirmation that you say with power and vigor in your voice and your body tone, you know, with full emotional intensity. And one of the first lines of this incantation is, I will believe not doubt. I will believe not doubt.
And I wanted to highlight that line.
For a moment because sometimes one of the best ways to deal with doubt is just to, like, claim fucking more. And not just, you know, there's a way, like, okay, there's the doubt. Let me, like, tend to the doubt. Like, look at my body language.
Like, let me worry about the doubt isn't right.
You know, and the doubt's like, oh.
Yeah, you better listen to me.
I mean, I'm. I'm probably right. You're like, yeah, you probably are right. You know, and the doubt's like, ooh, we're getting him. Or we're getting her. Let's throw in some. Be reasonable. And what would other people think? You know? Oh, yeah, that isn't very reasonable.
Yeah, what would other people think?
Oh, that's embarrassing.
Oh, man.
And then it's. Now it's got you. And it's like, but what if it doesn't?
What if it doesn't work out? You're like, yeah, what if it didn't work out? That would be pretty terrible, wouldn't it?
Yeah, it might be like a calamity. It might be like the end of life as we know it.
Yeah.
Oh, I hadn't even thought about that.
Ooh, my stomach hurts. And now doubt's like, you know, nothing's changing now. No action's happening now. And sometimes what we gotta do is just activate some other part of you.
So you want to do that with me right now?
Let's stand up for a second.
You got to stand up.
Hey, this is a Tony Robbins thing. So of course you're standing up, right?
And then you want to make some big gesture with your arms, with your hands. When you hit your chest, breathe a little bit and say, I will believe, not doubt. Just go ahead and say that with me. I don't know, maybe you're listening to this in your car. Say it out loud. I will believe, not doubt.
Good.
Say it again with more. With more force, with more vigor. Just tripping over my shoes. I will believe, not doubt. And just stand tall. Breathe. Feel that? I will believe, not doubt. I choose to believe. I choose to believe, like, no. Why? Why would you choose to believe? Because. Look at doubt. Is doubt something that moves you forward in your life? Does doubt amplify the quality of your life? Does doubt bring a positive impact to others? Does doubt bring more joy to you? Does doubt serve you? And you can make a case that doubt serves you in a small dose. Right. You know, before you're going to make a decision, maybe you want to look at the downside. Maybe you want to make some assessments. Sure. Right.
A little bit of that.
But I don't even know if that's a lot of doubt. That's just assessing and discerning before you make a decision. And then once you've made the decision, you just go like, so much doubt before, so much doubt after. That's not useful. That's just like a bad habit. That's like saying, no smoking is pretty useful. It's like, no, it's just a bad habit, man. You're just addicted to it. You know, you can keep doing it if you want, but we all know it's not optimal. Same thing with doubt. So what's the simplest way? Get up, move around like we just did. Take a full breath in, use your body, Make a sound like, yes. And then say, I will believe. Not doubt. One more time I will believe. Not doubt. Can you feel that? Now from that place.
Go take action.
From that place.
Make a decision.
From that place. Grab the fucking wheel and steer. Because you are the captain of your ship. Fantastic. Thanks for being with me today.
Until we speak again. May have the courage to be who you are and to know on a deep level that you're awesome.
