Have you lost confidence in yourself? Has something maybe knocked you off your game? You had a setback, a challenge, a sickness, financial problem, a relationship issue, a breakup, a divorce, something that knocked you off your game. And now it feels really hard to get your confidence back. If so, you're going to want to watch this video all the way to the end, because I'm going to give you the three key strategies to help you shift this forever so you can regain your confidence and actually make it stronger than it was before, so you can look back at the problem, the calamity, the situation, and really see how it actually served you in becoming a more confident, more free, more bold version of you. Okay, let's get into this. So first things first. Whatever caused you to lose your confidence, the biggest issue is not the event, it's what you're doing with the event. And I can make a pretty solid bet here, even if you and I haven't met personally, that I know one key thing you're doing, because I've seen it happen with hundreds of clients that have helped with this, is that you are holding a grudge against yourself for what happened. And the way I like to think about it is, I mean, you had something hard happen to you, and maybe it kind of came out of nowhere. Maybe you did play a part in it. Maybe you made a mistake. Maybe you dropped a ball. I've seen it all. And regardless, what I see people doing is they're just raking themselves over the coals. And maybe an even better metaphor is it's. It's like they're suffering. And then there's a part of them inside, this critical, angry part that's almost like holding them underwater. You. Did you get your lesson now? Is that what you get? How could you have done that? And it's just, be ready. Maybe you're replaying it in your mind. Maybe you're thinking about it all the time, maybe you're talking about it. But I'll guarantee one thing, you're living in the past. And it might be from a week ago, it might be from five days ago, it might be from five years ago or more. And so the question is, how long is this punishment going to go on? And does the punishment actually serve you? And what I've seen in every situation is it's under the guise maybe, of like, this is going to make you better. You. This is how I'm going to improve. This is I'm going to make sure it never happens again. No, what it does is that actually closes you up. To life makes you too afraid to try again and either guarantees that you'll never get what you want, or unfortunately guarantees that you'll repeat the same damn experience because you didn't actually learn anything. So the first step is you have to forgive yourself. And if there's this hard nugget inside of you that is unwilling to do that, then, then slow down, maybe go for a long walk outside and have a deep conversation with yourself and be like, what is going on here? Why am I doing this to myself? And guess what I found after working with people for all these years, this didn't start with this one issue. This is a pattern of the way that you've related to yourself for years or decades. And it's part of maybe what caused the mistake in the first place, part of what caused the person to leave you in the first place, part of whatever. And you gotta change this pattern. And this is the gift coming to your life right now to tell you now is the time. And if you need more support with this, definitely check out my book. On My Own side. On My Own side is going to help you learn how to shift the way you treat yourself so you truly become on your own side. Okay, that's number one. Then number two is even if you've forgiven yourself, softened your heart a little bit, there's going to be a part of you that is really scared and wary of trying again, opening up again, going for something again, because geez, I don't know what's going to happen. I mean, it's going to be painful. You might have linked pain to something you once wanted, linked pain to opening up in a relationship. Maybe you linked pain to trying a business because you failed and you lost money or people were mad at you or you felt like a failure. So how do we open again? How do we go for it again? Well, we have to realize that we learned something. Because if we don't think that we learned anything, then we feel doomed to just repeat the same damn thing. And no one wants to do that. So we have to see, wait a minute, I actually learned something from this experience. And sit down, maybe with a sheet of paper, maybe just on that long walk, it's going to turn into a very valuable soul searching walk for you after this video and think about what did I really learn? What were the lessons? And look, when I talk to people and ask them these questions, they already know it's the damn critic that's beating them down. And they let that part go. They say, you know what? Well, I learned you know, maybe there's a red flag in that relationship and I overlooked it. Okay, why did I do that? Well, I want to say I was desperate. Okay, I'll write that down. Well, I was trying to do business this certain way so I could prove I was enough to my dad. And I knew it was not the right thing, but I still kept going. I took these risks that were maybe too much. Okay, what did I learn? What did I learn? Write down, all it takes is just one lesson. One lesson is going to make you realize, wait a minute, I can do this differently. And as part of that lesson, that's the. We lead into the third step where we say, you know what? I not only can do this differently, but the third step is to make the decision that I am going to do this differently. I can do this differently. I am going to do this differently because the longer you go in life avoiding the thing that caused you the pain, the thing that you think made you lose your confidence, it's just gonna stay there. So I've talked to people who had a bad breakup. They got a divorce. They don't want to open their hearts. I don't know about love and relationships. I don't just have the time. I don't like it, and I don't. You know, marriage is a construct and doesn't work for me and this and that and. And we get to underneath it all, and they're just so freaking scared. They're like, honestly, if I open up again, you know how much pain I went through? I barely survived that breakup. I think I want to do that again. And what they have done is they've armored off and guess when the breakup was 10 years ago, five years ago. Their life, the decade of their life is going by. And when is that going to change? It's not. Time doesn't heal all wounds. The wound is just covered over with the scab. And if anyone tries to get near you, you want to punch them in the throat, right? Because you're defending yourself. You're protected. What I see people do is they adopt a defended life, and then they live out that life trying to minimize pain. And that, my friend, is no life at all. So we have get back on the horse, to use the expression, we have to take the action sooner rather than later and show to yourself, hey, I can do this differently. And look, I know it's a risk. I know I might get hurt. But guess what? Extraordinary things happen, too. And the past doesn't equal the future unless I live there. And if I keep telling myself that's going to happen again. That's not about a real prediction. That's about trying to live that defended life of certainty and control. And I don't want to do that anymore. And you take that next step and you go out into your life and you build your confidence and faster and bigger and better than ever before. So if you're finding this valuable, please, in the comments, share down below what you're learning. Give this video a like and a thumbs up and I look forward to sharing more with you in this new year. Until we speak again. May have the courage to be who you are and to know on a deep level that you're awesome.
