Do you want to know the biggest secret to being less nice and more boldly authentically you? I'm going to share it in this video. It's very fitting timing. I've been doing a lot of videos about being less nice and more you recently building up to our online virtual event called Not Nice Live. It's coming up really soon. You have a last chance to get the early bird ticket if you click down below in the description. Trust me, you're not going to want to miss this event, especially if you like my videos on this channel. If you've read my book Not Nice and it resonated for you, this is going to be where you take a lot of theoretical ideas and turn them into transformation over a three day immersion with me. And you can join from anywhere in the world as long as you have the Internet, which you obviously do if you're watching this. But I want to share in this video the biggest secret to breaking free from that niceness, to be more boldly yourself. Do you want to know what it is? Well, to tell you what it is, I have to describe what's stopping you and what you're doing. And here's what it is. The unfortunate truth is that if you are still being nicer than you want and you haven't become the most free, bold version of you, it's because part of you is addicted to that certainty, familiarity and comfort that you get from being the nice person. And like with any addiction, we don't want to let it go until life like rips it out of your hand and you're like, all right, fine, fine, fine, I'll give it up. But maybe up until this point, you know, life's like, hey, stop being that way and be more you. And you're like, no, I don't know. That's scary and uncomfortable. And so we're waiting. Oh, it's so hard. I can't. I want to speak up, but I just don't know how. Or I would do that, but she wouldn't let me, or they didn't like that, or we're blaming and we're unfortunately in a victim stance and something's going to change and then maybe I can do this. And that's very different than the secret that it really takes to make this change is for you to get out of victim and to take total ownership, total responsibility and say, this ends now. Why? Not because them, not because of she, not because of the government, not because of my boss, not because of anything. Because I claim more. I decide I Enough of this. Enough of this BS of living as this overly nice person for the last 10, 15, 20, 30, 50 years. It sucked. And I'm ready to do something different. I'm ready to be me. And then there's that voice that's going to come up in your head that's going to say, oh, no, but what if you do and nobody likes you? What if you get fired? What if you get left? And if you say, oh, shoot, your right. Yeah, I got a little crazy there. Let's go back to where we were. That's you going back. That's choosing the addiction of comfort again. But if you really want to break free, the real secret is to listen to that voice and say no. And I've listened to you for the last 30 years. And today is today. Today I'm drawing a line in the sand. And I claim more. And I'm going to have a different life. And I'm going to be more bold. I'm going to be more direct. I'm going to be more real. Here I go now. I claim this. I'm going to make this happen. Not when it's easier, not when so and so gives me permission, but today. And then you act on it. And guess how that day is going to go. You think it's going to be more certainty or less certainty in that day? You think it's going to be comfortable or maybe a little uncomfortable? Maybe a little scary? Maybe a lot scary. Guess what, my friend, that's a good thing. And you watch this video, you might be nodding and saying, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's all in theory. We got to get out into the world. And you might get out in the world. I did this for many years. I'd be like, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go talk to that person. I'm gonna go ask that woman out. Yeah. And then I'd get out there and I'd be like, I don't know who that guy was. He was saying he was gonna do it, but he's gone. He just slipped out the back door. This is old Nice disease. I'm not gonna go talk to that person. So what we need decision, and then we need some sort of support. We need some sort of energy. We need some sort of community to help us raise that standard, be accountable and actually make the changes. And that's why I'm so excited about the virtual event.
