Dr. Aziz delivers a short motivational message encouraging viewers to intentionally make mistakes as a path to growth. He argues that successful people have made many mistakes, recounts an early anecdote about a teacher who said "there is no shame in... falling flat on your face," and issues a direct call to take risks in career, relationships, and projects. The talk closes by asking viewers to share what mistakes they're making to grow.

You don't make mistakes, do you? You're not one of those people tries things, experiments and then messes things up, fails, you know, you're not one of them, are you? Well, guess what, I am. And I hope you are too. I invite you to be one of those people who makes mistakes because if you are trying to not be one of those people because you don't want to, oh, it's shameful. How embarrassing. How shameful for me to make mistakes, I better not be one of those people. And I'm playing with you here because it's ridiculous. But we can default to want to be that way, want to be mistake free, you know, want to be the success story, you know, everyone likes to put out the, you know, I tried this and then I got these amazing results. You know, every, every world I step into, there's always people that are sort of, you know, puffing up their successes, right? You know, whether it's in the business world, I've done a lot of training there and people will be like, oh, I did this and I created that and I did that and we hear about that, we're like, oh wow, they're so smart, they're so good, you know, and then whether it's the physical health world, like oh, I've achieved this and I've been able to accomplish that physically, this and that, like, oh wow, they're so strong, you know, or investing, right? You know, I turned this amount of money into that. Haha. And people like put forward their victories, their successes, right? And only the people that are being really honest will say, yeah, I created that. But along the way I had made a ton of mistakes, a ton of mistakes. And in fact that's how I was able to create whatever it is that impresses you that I created. Another way to say that is anyone that you look at that operates the way that you want or has the things that you want to have or, or acts like the kind of person that you want to be able to be like. They have made a large number of mistakes in order to get there. And they might just not lead with those. They might not tell everyone about those, but they have them. And the most successful people are the least ashamed of their mistakes. I remember I had a teacher a long time ago, his name, his pen name was David d' Angelo and he had created a program called Double youe Dating. That was the first self development program I'd ever purchased. It was $197. They sent me a packet of CDs, DVDs I think no CDs. It was audio and came in a binder. And I remember that was the most I'd ever spent on myself. I remember when I. When I. When I put in the credit card information, like, I was, like, kind of shaky, like, oh, what's gonna happen now? And it wasn't instant access. Back in the day, you kids, I had to wait. I had to wait, you know, five days for that to come in the mail. But any case, I remember early on in the training, it was all about, you know, how to double your. It's about how to get out there and meet women and basically be a more confident man. Even though that's not what the name of the program was, but that's what it triggered in me. It's like, wait a minute. I can learn how to be more confident. What? And then the obsession began. And here we are 18 years later. How about that? But in the beginning of the course, very early on, he said something that I remember to this day, and he said, there is no shame in trying something, you know, giving your. Giving, going for something in your life and falling flat on your face. There is no shame in that. And he said it just like that, with total certainty. And it was probably the first time I'd heard, you know, like an adult male say that, you know, because I sort of got the message when I was young, you know, I got criticized for mistakes or yelled at for mistakes or other things. So I kind of learned, like, oh, you don't make mistakes. But that was someone saying to me, like, hey, yes, yes, there's no shame in that. So I want to pass that on to you. There is no shame in going for it. And, you know, if you're looking around to see, like, what do other people think? And is this okay? I don't know, like, stop that, stop that.
