A short coaching segment by Dr. Aziz introducing the "When Life Works" exercise: recall a time when life felt upbeat and identify the actions, routines, and daily habits you were doing during that period. The segment guides listeners to make a list of at least five behaviors (a "when life works" list) to use as a buffet of options for building a better routine rather than a strict checklist.

Think back to a time when life was going well. Could be recently, could be a long time ago. But you were feeling upbeat, enthusiastic, energetic, inspired, powerful, courageous, confident, lucky, light, engaged. Some. Are all those right? Think back to a time. Maybe you're on a roll. Maybe things were going your way. Okay, so what you want to do is you want to pick that time in your life and say what? When life works. Sean called this the when life works list. So when life works, I'm doing what? So we tend to focus on the situation. Like, oh, I just got into a new relationship. I just got this thing. Like, actually look at you. What were you doing when your life works, what are you doing? What kinds of things do you do each day or regularly? Like, when life works, do you hit snooze five times, roll out of bed, look at the news on your cell phone, check your email, skip breakfast? You know, go sit at work without working out or using your body at all? Probably not, right? Right. You probably do different things when life is going really well. Probably have a whole different morning, a different routine. So what do you do when life is working? Make a list. Come up with at least five things on that list. You can add more to it. It doesn't mean you have to do these things, every single one of them, every day. That's overwhelming, but it gives you, like a. A buffet of options.
