Dr. Aziz (founder of the Center for Social Confidence and author of five best-selling books) delivers a short YouTube talk arguing that confidence is not something one is owed but a skill/muscle that must be earned through sustained effort. He identifies a common pitfall—feeling entitled to confidence and seeking quick fixes—and contrasts instant-gratification habits with the long-term work required to build confidence. The video closes with a call-to-action to visit his website (drazeez.com) for free resources including a mini-course titled "Five Steps to Unleash Your Inner Confidence," plus paid virtual events and a year-long group program.

You are not entitled to confidence. You have to earn it. In this short video, you're going to discover why most people fall way short of creating the confidence that they want, honestly creating the life that they want. And so if you want to discover how to really take charge of this process and feel like not only can you build whatever confidence you need, you can use that confidence to create the relationship, the career, the life that you truly want. I'm Dr. Aziz. I'm the founder of the center for Social Confidence. I've written five best selling books on confidence and I've worked with thousands of clients over the years on confidence. And there's one pattern I see all the time, not only in people who don't even work with me, but even in clients who are investing in the process and spending money and coming to virtual events or in person events, or joining one of my group programs who are really there to make a change. And they still fall prey to this one pitfall that I want to share with you, which is they feel entitled to confidence. Let me explain what that means for a second. So entitlement is a sense that you're owed something, right? You can feel entitled to special treatment. You can feel entitled to someone following your agreement. And sometimes in life, maybe someone did make an agreement with you, maybe someone did promise you something. And so if they don't do it, sure, you, you might feel upset, you might need to have an assertive conversation with them. But you're not guaranteed confidence in this life. You're not entitled to confidence. Where does it come from? You know, I see a lot of people have this subtle expectation of life, and they might not even be religious and they're demanding God give it to them, or life give it to them, or they give it to them. Now they're not walking around saying, God, give me confidence, life should give me confidence. But you can just hear it in their voice, tone. There's a sense of what does it take to really get confidence? Oh man, that sounds like a lot of work. I don't know about that. And they might not even say that. They just hear what it takes. And they say, oh, but but I'm too messed up, but my parents, but my past, but this, but that. And they're looking for reasons why they cannot. And really what it is is they want it with little or no effort, or they want it with less effort than it's actually going to take. Because what it actually takes to create a life of confidence is more, more than you think. Honestly, it's probably More than you want to give. Because as humans, we want it quick and easy. I don't know if that's always been the case, but it certainly has been the case my entire lifetime. Probably growing up in a rapid, you know, instant gratification culture, right? We all want it. We want it fast. I want to press the button, I want the item shipped to me by drone in seven seconds, or I'm bored, restless, or impatient. And so we expect that confidence is the same thing, but confidence is a muscle. It's a skill. You want to get really good at the guitar, you're not going to buy that and get it shipped to you overnight. You want to create an extraordinary level of belief in yourself and assertiveness and confidence to go talk to people or speak in front of a camera or share your music or disagree with somebody. It's not going to come overnight, easily. You're going to have to build that. You build the confidence over time. You're not entitled to anything when it comes to confidence or the quality of your life. And so you, my friend, have to decide right now to claim it. No one else is going to do it for you. They might support you, they might love you, they might wish it for you. But until you say, I am the captain of my ship, I create my destiny, and I can create a life of confidence, or I can create a life of self hatred and suffering. And at the end of the day, honestly, honestly, most people are choosing the latter. Self hatred, suffering, stuckness, I wish. But I can't. I'm not enough to do that. And then another year ticks by, and another year ticks by after that. And then it's finally another decade has gone by. First decade, they said I'm too young. And then as soon as they reach 30 or 40 or 50 or whatever, they say I'm too old. And the excuse train keeps on going until. Until it stops. And there's only one person who's going to decide that it stops and one person who makes it stop and makes the change. So if you're excited about this and you're ready to actually do something, I invite you to go further with me. Go over to my Website Right now, drazeez.com there's free resources.
