In this instructional video, Emily Williams explains why many ambitious women entrepreneurs miss their income targets despite setting lofty financial goals. She argues that the failure is usually not a lack of desire but a misalignment between the desired revenue and three critical dimensions: (1) the business structure – the math of pricing, audience size, and sales volume needed to hit the target; (2) personal and operational capacity – whether the entrepreneur’s schedule, team, systems, and energy reserves can sustain the workload; and (3) the body’s nervous‑system readiness – the internal feeling of safety and expansiveness when imagining holding that amount of money. Emily walks viewers through a journal exercise that asks concrete questions for each check, provides concrete examples (e.g., $100 K months vs $99 sales, $20 K months with $500 offers), and highlights the importance of honest answers about willingness to invest in support or sacrifice personal time. She shares her own experience of burnout from trying to serve 27 one‑to‑one clients and two group programs while working 80–100 hours a week, illustrating the cost of ignoring these checks. By aligning structure, capacity, and receiving, she claims the desired income becomes not just possible but inevitable.

Now we're going to zoom out and look at whether your life and business are actually set up to receive the amount of money that you're saying that you want, both practically and energetically. So why does this matter? So, so many ambitious women who I've worked with over the years tell me their incredible, beautiful financial goals and desire to increase their income, take on more clients, do all the things. And then we literally look at their calendar and realize they don't have time to do that, or they don't have the team and the infrastructure set up to be able to handle that. Okay. They never actually look to see if their business model, career path, or schedule could actually support those numbers. And although it technically is possible for them to make that amount of money, they never check in with whether their nervous system is prepared to hold that level of wealth without burning out, self-sabotaging, or shutting down. And then this is where the frustration and self-blame come in because they set these goals, but they're not reaching them. Okay. And they end up thinking, why can't I hit my goals? When in actuality they just weren't set up to receive that amount of money and their capacity just needed adjusting. And so that's what we're talking about here today. So I want you to do a bit of a journal here and we're going to do some math together and go through and figure out your current capacity. So step 1, we're going to do a structure check. So essentially you're going to ask yourself again, what is that baseline number? What is my desired monthly income? How much do I currently earn per sale, per client, or per hour? How many clients, sales, or hours would it take to hit this number? And is that number realistic, sustainable, and in alignment with my energy? So again, if you're telling me that you want to have $100K months, but right now the only thing you sell is $99 and you have a very small list or very small audience, it's going to be more challenging than somebody who say sells $5,000 packages And is able to you know sell twenty of those, right? And so we want to be clear on what your current business model is and if you're set up for success to reach those numbers. Another example: if you want twenty K months and your signature offer is five hundred, you're going to need forty people, forty sales each month, which might not be sustainable depending on your current audience and systems. Or if you're aiming for a bigger number, maybe you want to hit ten million. But right now, number one, you don't know how to do that. Number two, you don't have the audience. Number three, you don't have the team. Then you're going to self-sabotage because internally your body and your mind don't feel ready. So next step, capacity check. So the energy of this. So could I sustain this level of income energetically without burning out? Would I need to invest in more team systems, childcare to hold this level? Am I willing to invest in that support to expand my capacity? That's such a beautiful question that most people don't ask. They're not essentially playing the whole tape through to To see what it's really going to take to reach that next level and then ask themselves, am I actually willing to do that? Like if that means less time with my kids or if that means I have to manage a team or bring somebody on to manage a team, am I willing to do that? Is that the business model that I want? Is that the life that I want? Because subconsciously, if the answer is no, then you're going to self-sabotage and you're not actually going to get there. And then step 3, receiving checks. So the body, ask yourself, when I imagine receiving this, receiving this amount monthly, What do I feel? Does it feel expansive and exciting or tense and scary? Where do I feel that in my body? What would make my body feel safe holding this amount of money? And again, this is where you might pair the number with nervous system regulation tools, but these are the 3 areas where you want to check in. So structure check, so the math, capacity check, the energy, and receiving check, which is the body. This is super, super powerful, but most people never do this and then they wonder why they're not hitting their goals. Okay. So if you do this, everything will shift. Again, I do this all the time for myself. I did it from the very beginning because I realized that I was working 80 to 100 hours a week. At one point I had 27 one-to-one clients and I was running 2 group programs and I was like, this is not sustainable. I'm saying I want to go to the next level, but if the next level is like this, I'm going to be completely burnt out. And so something has to change here. This is about setting yourself up for success. And when you align your structure and your capacity with your desires, you create a reality, reality where hitting your number is not just possible, it's inevitable, which is what I really want for you.
