My First Vlog: I Didn’t Expect Bali to Do This to Me!

In this travel vlog, Hui Hui Lek and friends explore a boutique villa in Ubud, Bali, sharing a sensory tour of local beverages (avocado coffee, ginseng coffee, lemongrass tea, mangosteen tea) and reflecting on a marketing insight that offering samples creates a pre‑selling environment. They describe the villa’s beachfront pool, private cook, koi pond, and the surrounding rice fields, while highlighting activities such as dolphin watching, multiple massages, and ceremonial cacao sessions. The vlog also shows how they maintain remote work (Zoom coaching calls) with high‑speed internet, and interweaves personal healing reflections, citing the book When You’re Ready, This Is How You Heal and Buddhist philosophy as guides for rest and mindfulness. Overall, the content blends travel, hospitality review, wellness practices, and a subtle lesson on experiential marketing, all delivered in an enthusiastic, conversational tone.

I'm really, really glad that I took this trip.
I'm just Also had the experience feeding a real luwak banana. And so the entire experience is built to give you the pre-selling before they sell you. So the experience is there to give you the environment to create the experience for you. Oh wow, smells good! We're here in Bali and having a sample of the different types of coffee.
Can you taste the ginseng? Can smell it already, especially the aftertaste. I think, I think you, you, you like this.
Yeah, strong lemon.
You like?
In Hong Kong, they call this leng cha.
Ginger tea.
Okay, ginger tea.
I think you will like ginger tea.
Pretty similar. To lemon.
Lemongrass is a like it or hate it kind of thing.
Yeah, definitely more sour.
But it's nice. Yeah, but lemongrass is good for health.
Mangosteen tea.
Wow, mangosteen.
Heard of mangosteen, never ate mangosteen before. But nice color.
We always eat mangosteen after eating durians.
I never had mangosteen.
Very sweet. Smells sweet, like syrup.
But it's it's funny that the mangosteen is this color. Oh, it's nice.
It's actually very nice.
Oh, it's it's very fruity. Very very fruity.
Yeah, it's a very nice syrup taste.
Oh yeah.
Natural syrup. Oh, salad tea.
Tea.
Best food. First choice is avocado coffee and then ginseng coffee. The biggest surprise is mangosteen tea.
And so what's the lesson here? The lesson here is if you give them a sample of what you have first, then they are very likely to buy.
You need to create the buying environment as well.
The entire experience is built to give you the pre-selling before they sell you, so the experience is there.
This is where we'll be staying for the next 3 days. I'm just coming here, I'm just so happy.
This is really, really amazing.
So there's a pool here and it's beachfront. So basically we are right—
there's a beach that we can access right outside here. So you can see what it looks like. And tomorrow morning we're gonna go dolphin watching. Yay!
How do you find the place so far?
Oh, this is like paradise. Yep, we'll be watching the sunrise.
Yeah, it's crazy. The moment we came, they, they already gave us this garland of flowers, and so warm. The reception is so warm. We got welcome drink, and we're gonna have breakfast— uh, no, we're gonna have dinner as well with them. So, so cool. Yay!
More high-fiving awaits. Today is the 3rd day of our vacation. Yesterday we spent the whole day here and we had— the Airbnb was able to provide a private cook so that our 3 meals are all taken care of. I didn't want to go out at all. We were too lazy to go out. And so we were at— we were here the whole day and And then we had a massage as well. Then 2 massages is crazy. So basically we spent about 3 and a half hours doing different types of massage and spa. And so it was really nice. Then the rest of the time, for the longest time, I was able to sleep more than 9 hours straight. It's been a very long time since I was able to sleep that much. And so I was really, really relaxed. It's really amazing. On average, I've been sleeping about 5 to 6 hours every day for this whole year. So it is why I guess I needed this rest. So well then, today it was very much about enjoying the rest of the place. So they have a very nice pool here, and I love it when the water is not too cold because I absolutely don't like cold water. And so we were able to just go for a nice swim and to be able to just enjoy, um, the water here. And they even have like a nice little cute koi pond, um, as well. You can't really see the koi here inside, but, um, there's a little nice koi pond. And last night I was trying to secretly feed the fish, but they were all not responding. I think all the fishes were asleep because it was way too late.
They're not nocturnal like me.
And so anyway, it was really fun. And today I just want to spend a lot more time just relaxing and reading. So one of the books that I'm reading now, which I really enjoy, is this book. What's the name of the book? that I had on my bookshelf for a very long time. It's called, um, When You're Ready, This Is How You Heal. I find that, uh, it's been this, this journey. Um, I need to start my healing journey as well because we've got so much, so much, um, happening this year that, uh, I really needed to take a break, take the rest and organize my thoughts and prepare for future on how— what are the next steps. So I'm really, really glad that I took this trip. And if you guys don't know yet, I am a very pro-Buddhist philosophy person. I love the way of the Buddhist philosophy, not not the Buddhist religion, but how Buddhist philosophy teaches us to live life. To me, one of the best things is to be able to listen to the waves and just listen listening to the water. Here there's a lot of water. It is from the fountain, and there are 3 different fountains here in this place that really is able to give you the kind of relaxing mood. So overall, this has been amazing. And this is—
She's helping us!
She helped us to cook. Cook our meals and make our stay so comfortable.
Thank you.
And so I hope you guys one day get to experience this as well.
This is our place in Ubud Valley, the place that we are staying for the last— so on the second floor, you can actually see a very nice rooftop. And the villa next to us, we're in a very central location in Ubud center, so it is walking distance to a lot of places. In the last few days, I've visited lots of different cafes, tried out the ceremonial cacao, and went to a few healing sessions as well. Feeling a lot more rejuvenated and rested. The staircase here is really, really steep. So I try to avoid going up to the 2nd floor whenever I can. Luckily, there's a master bedroom just on level 1, and so which is why I stay here. It's just easier for me, and I'm lazy to walk up and down the stairs. So basically this is what it looks like over here. It's a very nice quaint place, very, very, very Balinese as well. And so it's been nice to just relax over here in Ubud. I know, I wish I should be doing this a lot. More often. It makes me realize that just a two-hour flight away, I should be coming to Bali a lot more often if I can. And I love all the you know the furniture here. It's really cool. You can see, and that's our working table. That's where we do our Zoom calls. Yes, we are still doing our coaching calls and our Zoom calls even though we're traveling here. So it's really important for me to find high-speed internet, which is still okay.
It's so surreal that we are staying right in the middle of a rice plantation. You can see all the houses and where everyone else is staying. And right now it's very early in the morning, it's about 9 AM.
And I guess that's why today is a Saturday, maybe that's why they're not working yet.
But yesterday they were tilling all the soil here, you can see. Um, these are probably the parts that we need to continue today.
