Why Less Qualified People Get the Clients in Coaching Industry

Coach Hui Hui explains why less qualified people win clients: they assume authority and build trust through visibility, character, competence, and consistency. Experts stay invisible. Authorities become trusted by the public. Thought leaders own a unique point of view and get quoted for their ideas.

You do not need to become famous. You will never need a million followers. You can be the smartest, most qualified person in your entire field and still have nobody see you as an authority. Meanwhile, someone with half your knowledge gets the clients, the stage, the following, and the trust. It feels deeply unfair, but it's not random. There's a reason, and once you understand it, everything changes. Hey, my name is Hui Hui. I went from being told that I'm too quiet to coach to becoming the number 2 affiliate for Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi. Speaking on a stage to 800,000 people and building a multimillion-dollar business in the last 5 years, all without the biggest following or the longest list of credentials. So I've learned exactly what builds real authority and what does not. So in this video, I want to show you the difference between an expert, an authority, and a thought leader, and exactly how you climb from one to the next. So if you're tired of being the best-kept secret in your field, This is for you. So let's stay with me. Let's dive in. Let's start by killing the biggest myth about authority because it's quietly keeping you stuck. Most people believe that authority is something that you are given and that one day after enough years, enough certifications, enough permission from the right people, you will finally be allowed to call yourself an authority. And so You wait and you wait and you wait, and the permission never comes because there's no one whose job is to hand you that permission. And this was something that I had to wrestle with for a really long time when I first started my coaching business. But my friend, what happens is actually this: authority is not granted, it is first assumed. You decide to step into it first, and then you back it up with how you show up. The people that you see as authorities now, they did not wait around to feel They claim their seat first, and then they earn the right to keep that seat. So please write this down: authority is not granted, it is assumed and then earned. Nobody is coming to give you permission, you give it to yourself first. And this is not about arrogance, it's not pretending to know things that you do not. It is about refusing to hide behind and becoming that best-kept secret, saying that I'm not ready yet, while the people who need you go and follow someone who's actually louder and less capable than you. Quick thing here, my team and I take a lot of effort to make these videos every single week to show you how to grow your coaching business to 6 and 7 figures so that you can become the authority in your space. So if you are not subscribed yet, make sure you hit the subscribe button and follow us every week for these videos. Now let me give you the ladder because this is the part that nobody explains clearly. There are 3 levels and most people get stuck on the very first level forever, and I'll hate for you to get stuck there. So level 1 is the expert. The expert knows a lot. They have the knowledge, they have the skills, the information, but there is a trap. Knowing the most does not mean that people trust you the most or even know that you exist at all. The best dentist in your town, they've got steady hands, they've got top training, they've got beautiful work, but only the people already in the chair knows them. Ask a stranger 3 streets away, And they've never heard of the name. Their skill is real. It just never left the location that they are in. Let me give you another one. One of my cousins, she's a food scientist. She helps her company create brand new products, and she's very, very good at it. She's been doing it for more than 10 years. Deep knowledge, years of study, and yet you wouldn't know her. That's the trap of the expert. Knowing a lot but being known are 2 different things. The world is full of brilliant experts that nobody has ever heard of. So level 1 is the expert. Level 2 is the authority. An authority is not the person who knows the most. They may know a lot, but they are the ones who are trusted the most for what they know. So the gap between an expert and an authority is not the knowledge. It is trust and visibility. An authority takes their expertise Makes it known and then makes it trusted. For example, Dr. Oz. Have you heard of Dr. Oz? Same training as thousands of heart surgeons, but because Oprah placed him on TV, he became the doctor that people trust. Same knowledge as many doctors, way more trust and visibility. Whether people love him or not is besides the point. He's still regarded as an authority because many people know him. And I'll give you another example, Gordon Ramsay. Plenty of chefs could at his level as well, internationally across the world, but he is one whose name means top chef to regular people, whether they are in US, whether in the UK, whether they are in Asia. Many people have heard of Gordon Ramsay. Same skill as many chefs, but far more trust and fame because he's an authority. So authority is not person who knows the most. The authority is the person who's trusted the most for what they know. That's level 2. Level 3 is the thought leader. And this is the highest level and it's simpler than it sounds, although it might take you a while to get there. A thought leader has a point of view. They do not just repeat the information that everyone has. They have a clear perspective, a way of seeing the problem and a method that becomes the lens by which other people start seeing the whole problem. Problem and a method that becomes the lens by which other people start to see the whole topic through. So when people quote your ideas, they start to use your phrases, and they start to treat your framework as a way to understand the problem, you have become a thought leader. For example, Russell Brunson, who talks about the value ladder, he talks about the epiphany bridge, he talks about telling stories, he has become a thought leader when he published his book, The Expert Secrets, and many experts now use the principles inside his book, whether it is Expert Secrets, whether it is Traffic Secrets, to be able to grow their business. Marie Kondo is another example. If you— even if you don't know what her name is, you have probably seen her videos, or you have heard of someone who is now a lot neater in the way they tidy up their house, has influenced millions of people in the way they tidy up their closet or make their house neater. So people are now KonMari-ing their way in their house. Her way of seeing the house and how to keep it organized has become the way for millions of people. His words start with why. People repeat these 3 words in meetings without even knowing that it is his. That's the top of the ladder. Your idea travels without your name attached. Mel Robbins is another example. She wrote her book, The 5 Second Rule, and then the Let Them Theory, which has sold a million copies worldwide. And now they have become ideas that people talk about and quote from very regularly. So I would like you to say this out loud: when people quote your ideas, they use your phrases, and they treat your framework as the way to understand the problem, you have become the thought leader. So write this down. Experts inform, authorities are trusted, and thought leaders are followed and quoted. So most coaches, they stay stuck as experts because all they ever do is share information. And information in the age of AI is now free and infinite, which means that being an expert is worth less than it has ever been. And becoming a thought leader and an authority is worth more than ever and is something that you need to focus on right now. So how do you climb from being an expert to becoming an authority? So you build trust, because the simplest truth in this whole game is this: without trust, there is no authority. Without authority, there's no business. So trust is the bridge between knowing something and being followed and paid for it. So trust is built on 3 things. Character, people feeling who you actually are as a person, your heart, your values, your why. The second one is competence. You genuinely know your stuff and you help people get results. Number 3 is consistency, showing up over and over and over again so that people learn that they can count on you. So character, competence, and consistency. If you miss any one, and the trust never fully forms. If you are here for just a couple of months and you step away from social media and you stop posting, then consistency breaks and trust breaks as well. This matters more now than ever because trust is at an all-time low. People have been burned, they've been oversold, and they've been buried under the AI sameness. So they trust slowly and they choose carefully now. The expert who only shows competence and are always polished They get ignored. Nobody wants the expert who's always the most polished. They want someone who's real and authentic. So the person who shows character and competency as well, if you show them who you are as a person behind the scenes, steadily over time, you become the trusted authority. And if you do this over and over and over and over, and if you continue to show up, not just for a month, for 3 months, 6 months, for a year. And in my conversation with Amy Porterfield, field. She stayed with the niche of digital courses for 16 years, and which is why whenever people talk about digital courses, her name always comes up. So can you stay there long enough, become the trusted name, and become known for this one thing? That is consistency. We are about halfway through. Let me know in the comments below, of the 3 C's, which one do you need to work on more right now? Is it character? Is it competence? Or is it consistency? I read every single comment. Now let's get back to how you build this authority. Now the most freeing thing I can teach you about authority is this: you do not need to become famous. You will never need a million followers. What you do need is becoming a micro authority, famous to a tiny group of people and absolutely necessary to them. So think about it: a thousand. people who trust you completely, who feel like you are speaking directly to their soul, who would follow you anywhere you go, they are worth more than a million strangers who just scroll past you and forget you in a second. So reach is vanity. Depth is authority. You become the necessary one to this specific group of people, not by reaching everyone, but by mattering deeply to the right few people. And this is exactly why quiet, thoughtful, experts can win this game completely. You do not need to become the authority by being the loudest in the game. You become the micro authority by being the most trusted, being the most consistent, and being the most genuinely useful to your specific group of people. So narrow your focus, be more specific about what you help people with, become known for one thing, for one specific group of people. This more important than ever. If you have heard me talk about this before, right, this is more important than ever right now. Be known for one thing, for one specific group of people. The smaller and clearer you get, the bigger your authority grows. So trying to be the authority for everyone is the fastest way to become the authority for no one, and that's when your income will drop. Okay, if you have made it so far and you're enjoying this video, share this video with them and help them to step up. All right, let's bring it home because this last part is what separates a thought leader from everyone else. So how do you reach that top level, the thought leader? 2 things. First, own your point of view. Stop repeating what every other coach in the niche is saying. And because the world— and stop using AI to help you create your ideas. The world does not need one more voice echoing the same advice. It needs is your take. So what is your take? What do you firmly believe about your topic that others do not? What is the thing that you would put your name on and defend? What is the one topic that you have so much conviction on? What is that one perspective that you have that is the seed of your thought leadership? And I want to give you this piece of homework. Every day, practice articulating an opinion on something, whether it's the food you eat, whether it's the places you visit, whether it's an idea that you can help your clients with, practice articulating it, practice making it very specific and very clear. Number 2, give your ideas a name. This is the secret that a lot of people are missing out on. So when you take what you know and you wrap it in your own simple named framework, your own method with your own language, something powerful happens. You stop being one of many teaching a topic, you become the person who owns a way of seeing things. So people remember ideas, they share them, they credit you, and your framework becomes the lens and you become the leader. Let me give you an example. Micro authority. When I created this concept of being the micro authority, which means that you do not need to be famous, you just need to be necessary to a specific group of people. And when you become the micro authority, you create your own economy and you are no longer dependent on the macroeconomic out there. Okay. And that is a very simple way of creating your own framework and your definition around it. And if you watch this channel, you're gonna see that I've created many different frameworks, frameworks on how do you get your client better results, framework on how do you create a raving fan engine, framework on how do you get to your 6 figures in your coaching business. If you go to the playlist inside this channel, you're going to be able to see many of my frameworks. And there's another one that I just created very recently recently. How do you impact from stage? How do you impact one-to-many on stage with the lost art? I call this transperience, creating a live experience where a real transformation happens. So it is a transformation, is an experience woven into one. The moment I named it, it stopped becoming a vague idea and became something that people can hold on to, remember, and desire. Our clients who have gone through our 4-day Transference Certification Program, now the events that they have created, the book that they have written, their coaching becomes even more powerful, and they now know exactly how to create experiences for their clients and in their events that they can confidently step into. So do not let the idea of becoming a micro authority scare you. We do not need to become the number one expert your field. You do not need to become the number one expert on the planet to be able to do this. You just need to be a few steps ahead of the people that you serve and be brave enough to put your own stamp on what you teach. So document your own growth, share your perspective, name your method. This is how an expert quietly becomes an authority, and in time you become A thought leader. And the last thing, the thing that ties it all together is this: authority is not built on your best polished days. It's built in the moments when you most want to hide, when you show up anyway. The video that you are scared to post, the opinion that you are afraid might cause rejection, the polarizing stand that you're nervous to take, the offer that you're afraid to make. Every time you choose courage instead of comfort, in those moments, you are choosing authority with your audience and even more with yourself. So which is why assume the authority first. And once you start to lead yourself, then others will start to follow you. And the deepest authority that you can build is build live in a room, whether it's virtual or whether it is in person, where you create a real transformation for people. Life. This is what I call the lost art of transference for a whole room all at once. And this lost art is very quickly becoming the rarest skill and the most valuable skill in the industry. The thought leaders who can do this well will not only build an audience, they will be able to build a real movement. One of my clients, Crystal, she spent 36 years as an ER nurse Who's tired of sending people home with more pills instead of real answers? So she did not wait for permission to become the authority. She claimed it. She built the trust. She showed up very constantly, and she now helps people prevent and even reverse chronic illnesses. So she has watched a man in his 70s reverse his type 2 diabetes. She never needed fame. She became necessary to a specific group of people. She became the micro authority to her. Avatar, and she built it inside our programs. Watch her story in our channel to see how she became an expert authority in her space. So stop waiting for permission that's never coming. Assume your authority, build your trust, the character, and the competency, and have that consistency to show up. Go deep with the few instead of chasing many people. Own your point of view and put your name on your method. And in the moments that you want to hide, show up anyway. This is the whole path from expert to authority to thought leader. If you want help building the authority that your expertise deserves, I run a 5-day challenge to help you grow your business to 6 and 7 figures. The link is below. Come and join us. The world does not need another expert who is playing small. It needs you as the micro authority, it needs you as the leader to step into your space. I'm championing your dreams as always. Let's go.
