The 5 Real Reasons Most Coaches Struggle to Hit $10K

In this solo YouTube presentation, Huy Phui—who claims to have built a $5 million coaching business and to be Tony Robbins' top affiliate—lays out five concrete lessons that he wishes he had known before reaching his first $10 K month. He begins by describing the common coach’s grind: endless content, multiple offers, and scattered marketing tactics that still don’t produce high‑ticket revenue. He then walks through each lesson: (1) the "Power of One" – focus on a single avatar, problem, offer, platform, and conversion method; (2) launch an imperfect $2 K offer quickly and co‑create with the first clients rather than waiting for a perfect product; (3) reframe sales as a service‑oriented, one‑on‑one discovery call instead of stage‑selling; (4) accept that imposter syndrome and fear are permanent but can be weakened by building "courage muscles" through action; and (5) secure the first paying client as proof and confidence builder before scaling. Throughout, he uses personal anecdotes, concrete numbers (e.g., 5 clients in 6 months = $10 K), and frequent calls to action (comment, subscribe, watch next video on 2026 niches). The overall message is that a simple, focused, client‑first approach beats complex funnels and perfectionism.

If you're a coach who's been grinding, showing up online, posting content, and doing all the things, but that $10K month still feels like a million miles away from you, I've got something to share with you. Hey, I'm Huy Phui, and over the last 4 years, I've built a $5 million coaching business, helping over 500 clients in over 30 countries, and becoming Tony Robbins' top number 2 affiliate around the world. But here's what nobody is telling you. The path to your first $10K month is actually simpler than what you think. And in this video, I'm going to share with you the 5 things that I desperately wish someone had told me before I started my coaching business. These would literally have saved me years of struggle. Let's dive in. The first thing I wish I knew is to stop collecting strategies. When I first started, I was everywhere, trying every marketing tactic, trying to attend every single course, every funnel, and every platform. In fact, in my very first month before I started my coaching business, I had over 7 different offers and 7 different marketing funnels, and all of them flocked. I thought more was better, and I was doing so many testing just to see what was working, grinding 12 hours a day for over 30 days. And so here's what actually moved the needle when I realized what I had to do: focusing on one thing until it worked. I call this the power of one. One specific person that you help, one specific problem that you solve, making one offer one way to reach them and one conversion method. So what I did was I helped new coaches to create the high-ticket offers and to create the high-ticket course using Facebook. And I was doing chats, DMs, and the way that I helped them is by running a 5-day challenge. That's it, very simple. One platform, Facebook. One avatar, new coaches, one specific problem that I solve, helping them create their high-ticket course, and using one conversion method, which is a 5-day challenge. I see so many coaches with half-finished funnels and zero clients trying to build website after website or trying to create a CRM when you do not need all of this when you first begin. The ones who are hitting $10K months they're doing one thing really, really well. Remember, you got to give yourself permission to be good at one thing and focus instead of trying all 10 things and in the end being mediocre at them. Quick thing, if this video is already hitting differently for you, do me a favor and hit the subscribe button. When you do that, you're helping other coaches who need to hear this find this video. And drop a comment right now. What is one strategy that you're committed to until you hit your first 10K month? I read every single comment and I would love to be be able to help you on this. The second thing you need to know, and this one might hurt to learn, your first offer does not need to be perfect. It needs to exist. So I often tell my clients, no offer, no business. If you don't have an offer, you basically do not have a business. I see many coaches spend weeks or even months trying to create that perfect program before they even get a client. And you know what they got? Zero clients, and a lot of self-doubt. So here's the simple math that will change everything for you. Create an imperfect $2K offer, $2,000. If 1 in 4 say yes, and go direct to them and help them first, find out exactly where they're stuck and help them first. And when you do, 1 in 4 will say yes to your offer, and they will if you follow a good process. You just need 5 clients over 6 months to be able to hit your first $10K in your business. 5 clients in 6 months, and that's it. So stop waiting until your course is ready. Stop waiting until you feel that your offer is refined, because your offer will only get refined when you work with real people. I call this co-creation. Your first clients will help you to build up that transformation. And honestly, that is a gift for both of you as you grow through this process together. Number 3, and I need you to really, really hear this. For the longest time, I thought that sales was pushy, it's icky, it's manipulative, and I pictured car salesmen and door-to-door people bothering strangers. But here's the reframe that changed everything for me: sales is service. When you get on a sales call, your job is not to close someone. Your job is to understand their problem deeply. I call this the GPS. Understanding what their goals, their struggles, and what they've already tried but didn't work for them. Because you're not there to coach them, you're not there to show off either. You are there to show them that you can genuinely help. And when you know that you can truly transform their lives, not offering your program and your coaching is actually doing them a disservice. So detach from the outcome. Focus on the serving and the sales will follow. And while we're talking about sales, one of the key things that truly helped me when I first started is understanding that I do not want to sell from stage first. The easiest way for a beginner coach to start is to do a sales call, is to get on a one-on-one call with your prospect and to be able to understand what their problems are, From there, you listen deeply and craft your offer so that you can help them get to the solution that they want and need. And this is the best way for you to get started rather than trying to follow the gurus and sell from stage, which is a really advanced skill set. Point number 4, and I wish someone had told me about this much earlier. You're going to feel the imposter syndrome. You're going to have fears and self-doubts, and this never go away. The voice that says, "Who are you to charge so much?" It doesn't magically disappear when you hit $10K or $30K or even $100K. That voice remains with you. It just becomes softer over time. And I'm shooting this in my hotel room in Las Vegas right now, and you can see that this is a huge room. We are basically staying in one of the biggest rooms in Las Vegas. And here's my message for you: your relationship with fear will transform over time. I used to hide in bathrooms when customers came into my retail store. I literally would run away even though they wanted to buy from me. And because of that, I had panic attacks that were so bad that I couldn't function for years. And now I've spoken on stages with Tony Robbins, Dean Graziosi, Russell Brunson— big names inside this industry— and the fear did not go away. My courage muscles just became stronger than my fears. So imposter syndrome isn't the evidence that you are not ready. Start even if you don't feel ready yet, because you're going to get more confidence and more certainty when you take even more action. And I've got another video in my channel here that talks about the imposter syndrome and the tax that is costing you if you give in to your fears. Go check it out inside my channel. And if you're still with me, you are serious about growing your business to the first $10K So out of what we've covered so far, focusing on one thing, starting with an imperfect offer, reframing sales as service, or building your courage muscles, and doing one-on-one sales calls instead of selling from stage, what is the one that is hitting you the hardest right now? Drop it in the comments. And if you want me to go deeper on any of this, just let me know. I would love to create more of such videos for you. And the fifth thing, and this is— could be the most important one in this video. You don't need 100 clients to believe in yourself. You just need the first one. Someone who pays you, someone who gets a result, someone who says, "You changed my life." That one client becomes your proof, your confidence builder, and your permission slip to do it again. I work with 33 one-on-one clients before I launch my group program. Each one taught me something. Each client built my belief. So stop trying to build the empire before you have built the foundation. Obsessed about helping them get that result, and then go get the next client. This is a simple, doable path to $10K. Not complicated funnels, not writing a book, not a perfect branding. Just one person at a time, one conversation at a time, doing one conversion event at a time. Serve them well before you make the offer to them. And remember, sales is service. They need your offer. They need the transformation that only you can offer. Go help them. So let me ask you, which of these 5 points do you need to hear most today? Drop it in the comments. I'm genuinely curious and I reply to everyone. So if this helped you to see that $10K months is actually possible, hit that like button and subscribe. I drop videos like this every week. To help coaches like you build your business that actually can change lives. And watch this next video. I go deeper into the top 5 best niches in 2026 that are exploding right now. And one of them could possibly be the one that would lock in your positioning for 2026. Remember, your desire must be greater than your fears. You absolutely can do this. As always, I'm championing your dreams. Let's go.
