Jake Setterlun, a former systems engineer turned salesman, shares how he closes deals without pitch decks or pressure. He embeds pricing and slides after prospects book calls, lets them consume content at their own pace, and treats conversations as collaboration instead of pitches. The result: lower pressure and higher conversion rates.

How to sell without being pushy. I get this a lot where like, I'm not a good salesperson, I don't know sales. And to be honest, I am not a salesperson either. I am more of a backend individual. My experience comes from learning the backend systems, automations, things like that. But I have transitioned more into doing sales specifically for myself and for new businesses. Now, the biggest thing I can say on how to close more deals without being overly pushy is gonna be 3 things. Number one is you need to have a sales process that somebody can basically go through without you actually having to pitch somebody. I think one of the biggest things that is holding a lot of people back is you feel like you have to go through this big sales presentation, pitch deck, whatever you want to call it, to be able to make sales. And I really think that that is just an old-school way of selling, because at the end of the day, if somebody books an appointment with you, have them go through something, have them watch something. You could even just embed your pitch deck after they book and have them click through and go through some of the slides. You could even have them go through the price so that if they're hopping on, it's less of a sale and more of a conversation. That has been one of the biggest things that has helped me specifically not feel like I have to pitch.
