In this excerpt from Jake Setterlun’s YouTube video “Prove It First, Then Teach It 🎯,” Speaker A and Speaker B discuss the mechanics of a paid business‑operations coaching service. Speaker B explains that the program costs $3,600 for an eight‑week engagement where he sets up white‑label funnels for clients using HighLevel and Stripe, then hands off AI‑driven advertising. The service is positioned as an affiliate‑business model that has not yet been validated with other coaches. Speaker B describes a catch‑22: cutting the affiliate stream would eliminate income, but expanding it requires proving value to a new audience while juggling existing coaching commitments that leave him with limited time. The dialogue also touches on the importance of closing skills as a differentiator beyond lead flow. The conversation illustrates the tension between scaling a service, maintaining cash flow, and validating a new offering.
I am the biggest proponent of if you're teaching something, showing something, like do it for yourself and then show it. Okay. 100%. I love it. I love it. All right, sweet. I do have a question for you on that current business. What's the ticket price? Like how are you getting people in the door? Are they booking calls with you? Are they just signing up themselves?
Yeah, they're booking calls with me. It's $3,600. I work with them for 8 weeks and it's biz ops. So I set up their funnels for them. It's a template, so it's not a lot of work for me. It's mostly, you know, go HighLevel, switch out their names and Stripe accounts and stuff so they get to white label my products. And then they run like AI advertising and stuff like that. And that's it. It's super simple business.
And, and is that the, the affiliate business or is that the new—
The affiliate business. I don't have the affiliate, I've not, uh, validated this to a coach yet. All because of this.
Gotcha. Gotcha.
Gotcha. This kind of like this valley that I'm in where it's like, damned if I do, damned if I don't. If I cut this off, I make no income. If I start doing this, it's a grind, and like, I have to prove myself to this entirely new audience. So yeah, it's been tough. And then on top of that, to make ends meet, I've been working with other coaches in the biz op space, and they're sending me clients to coach them. So I have like very little time throughout the day. Kind of a bad idea. I shouldn't have done that.
But that happens. At the same time, you know, bills got to get paid. It's whatever. Yep. Do you Do you feel like a big selling point of why you're able to have the success that you have besides lead flow is that you're closing?
Yes, 100%. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. 100%. I did have another closer at one point when I did scale that much. It took a lot of training because he had no biz op. Yeah. He had no— biz op is a different animal. It's terrible. Yep, yep, yep. So he came from the B2B world. It's like, why are they like this? It's biz op, man. But, uh, once I trained him up enough, I was able to remove myself from the calls completely, and it was okay. Like, he was able to close at like a nice 40% clip because everybody was coming from YouTube and banging down the door and whatnot. Cool.
