In this reflective dialogue, Speaker A shares a personal story of enduring physical abuse from his oldest brother, yet discovering that his love for his brother remained unconditional—a first experience of boundless love. Speaker B expands on this insight, emphasizing that the ultimate human desire is to know presence, and that when distractions are stripped away, people recognize the sacredness of life and relationships. Both speakers discuss how true intimacy arises when individuals allow divine presence to flow through them without trying to change themselves or their circumstances. They stress that this sacred connection is always available in the present moment, requiring no external resources, and that practicing love from this place can transform personal experience and, by extension, the world. The conversation concludes with the notion that giving and receiving love may need practice, but the underlying superpower of presence is ever‑present.

It was my relationship with my oldest brother that I felt taught me the most about spiritual life, or what that means. Where day after day he would physically abuse me, physically beat me to tears every day. I recall every one of those moments, and not a single moment In the midst of all of that, did I ever stop loving him as that was happening? I think it was the first time I experienced really how love could be unconditional, like no matter what.
I do what I do because I don't think there's a better experience than presence, to truly know presence. Once I felt that for me, there was nothing else to do during this lifetime.
The people who really look, they all come to the same conclusion. They'll say, yes, life is sacred. Yes, relationship is sacred.
When you cut away all the distractions that a human being can get involved in, In the end, this is what they want. And when they touch it, they realize this is the only thing they really want. It's pretty simple in the end. Simple but profound. And when you live from that place, make love from that place, Suddenly everything else is a little less serious. But that's not why you do it.
And it's incredible what we can learn looking into our lover's eye.
You don't have to change anything about yourself, improve anything, or change your circumstance whatsoever to find that solution. It's available in every single moment. It's right here. Waiting for you.
I think we sometimes become fascinated in the extraordinary. We think that's it, and we stop looking right in front of us. This is extraordinary. This is unreal.
And the same goes for a relationship. Nothing needs to change for the divine to run through your bodies, two bodies as one.
Our work is to allow that process to happen naturally, to see it for what it is. And we don't need to bring that to the world. We don't all need to be saints. If we could just bring it to one, that'd be enough to change everything. And we all have that superpower right here. It doesn't require any more money. It doesn't require any other resources.
It's in the right now moment. One moment to the next, to the next, to the next, to the next. Never forget.
And can you continue to be loved, to give love through that experience? And of course you can, but it might take a little practice.
