What if your simple commitment as an exploration is that every time you see your partner or you see your children, you imagine this will be the last time you get to interact with them? How would you love them? How would you treat them? That tomorrow isn't promised. And it doesn't have to get into the specifics of what that looks like, because in the moment that can look a number of ways. But just the attitude, the awareness of the radical, profound impermanence of life. By keeping this constantly with us, always keeping death close— by doing this, what also starts to happen is we'll have an interaction with our partner and then we'll be reminded of that. Is that really the way I want to end this? Is that really the last thing that I want to say? And it just keeps us aware without any particular doing or effort involved. It's just a constant awareness.
