Relationship Advice | Take Your Practice From Healing to Hot

Two hosts show how to move from detached emotional statements to embodied communication using breath, movement, and sound. Instead of saying "I feel angry because I'm losing trust" flatly, they demonstrate adding pelvic rocking and full-body presence, which a partner notes creates openness and arousal rather than just information.

How do we take our practice from that very healing space into HOT? It has to do with the way that you're doing the "I feel." So one way to do the "I feel" is like a weather report. It's a little safer, it's a little distant, and it has to do with kind of reporting on your feelings. It's a little less vulnerable, so I'm going to just show you what that would look like if I did that with Justin as a weather report. I feel angry because I'm losing trust. So I'm, I'm letting him know I feel angry. It's a feeling statement. But now let me contrast it with this, which would be the immersive embodiment that is more alive, and it's going to use the yoga, the yoga of the sensitivity. Is full feeling breath, pelvic rock, moving with the feeling, and if you're really courageous, sounding with the feeling. Pretty much the opposite of a weather report, but I'll show you what that might experience might be like. I feel Angry because I'm losing trust. Same words, but I've included the yoga. I'm immersed into it. I'm showing it. I'm embodied in it. Now that's something that's difficult, right? That's something that is on the, you know, this end of the pendulum of feelings. But it can happen with happy too. So let's do weather report with happy. I'm gonna stop breathing, stop moving, and stop embodying. This is how you do weather report. You just get right here and tell them what's going on. I feel happy to be here with you. Now that's nice, there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not going to create a lot of hot. So now I'm going to do the yoga. So I'm going to breathe full feeling breath, let my belly out, pelvic rock, sound and move with the feeling. Feel it. I feel happy, happy, because I love doing this with you. So raise your hand if you could feel that there is something different between weather report and the yoga of I feel. I would like to say something, to just ask Justin, like, from your point of view as the seer, anything you noticed, or the difference between the two.
When you're just speaking it, I can hear it and understand it, but I don't feel an opening or a connection to really step into you. The desire to touch or combine isn't there. When you start embodying it, particularly the unpleasant one, like 'Wakes me up and I feel something in my body as you do it.' And even though it's an unpleasant feeling, your heart's open, you still feel completely available, and it feels like you're sharing your emotion more as an invitation than as a statement or a declaration. And that just feels workable for me. And in the pleasant one, 'It was nice to hear the nice words, but to feel your body come alive and watch that experience in you, it's already an intimate experience. It's already creating a little bit more turn-on and inviting me in closer.
All right, so that's our teaching. How do we do this? When it's time for you to be the feeler, immerse your attention on self, full feeling breath down the front, speak on the exhale. Did you notice how I would, "I feel..." Collect it. Stir it, know it, live it, speak it. You know, then you're speaking from that embodied place. And if you have the courage, sound. Just because you're saying 'I feel,' you don't have to get stuck in words. You can be sounding through the words, with the words, outside of the words. You can take one 'I feel,' take a breath with sounds, and then another You know, so really give yourself permission to get into the body as the feeler. Speak from the body.
