In this instructional monologue, London Angel Winters of Metaphysical Fitness explains how temple snakes respond to a dancer’s subtle energy and vibration. She describes snakes as highly sensitive feedback mechanisms that can detect even slight shifts in a performer’s mental state. When a dancer is anxious, hurried, or distracted, the snakes sense the jarring energy and attempt to flee. Conversely, by "dropping into the cauldron"—filling one’s power center, quieting the mind, and staying fully present—the dancer’s vibration becomes calm and inviting, prompting the snakes to engage, play, and even aid in healing. Winters emphasizes that practicing presence and grounding not only improves the dancer’s experience but also serves as a clear indicator of how one’s internal state affects others. She concludes with practical advice: bring a disciplined, present mindset to snake dancing to allow the snakes to slither freely and support the practice.

Hi, this is London Angel Winters with Metaphysical Fitness, and here I have Snakleton, one of our 3 temple snakes. Wanted to talk to you about what it means if you're working with a snake and it's just constantly trying to run down your leg and run away. Or if you're laying on the floor and it's just making a run for it. It happens a lot with especially new dancers. So one of the things I love most about these beautiful beings— there's so many things I love— but these guys are masters of subtle energy. They are masters of vibration. Their gentle bellies can pick up even the slightest shift in vibration. So when they're on your body, they're feeling your vibration and your presence, your state of mind is heavily influencing your vibration. So if you're stuck in that worry, anxiety, go, go, go, or making to-do lists, anything other than being in the moment, they're going to feel that jarring energy from you and they're probably going to start making a run for it. It's not fun for them. If you, on the other hand, really drop into the cauldron, you know, your power center, fill your cauldron, make yourself full, discipline the mind to be quiet and in the moment, you'll notice that they immediately feel that and they begin to play with you in that space. It's like you've met them where they're at and now they want to explore you, heal you, go to the spots where there's He's already interacting with me as I drop in with him. So these snakes are just amazing feedback mechanisms of how your practice is, of how you are on that given day. It's my favorite way to understand how I'm affecting others, is to just spend some time with my snakes and see if they're really going to work with me or if they're going to run. So that's a little tidbit on how to have a better dance the next time you come to snake dancing. Bring your best practice, drop into that cauldron, live fully in that body, and you'll notice the snakes are just ready to go right there with you and just slither all over you. Hope that helps. Looking forward to seeing you soon, and Signing off.
