Building BIG Shoulders - Kase's 30th Birthday

In this vlog, Justin documents a shoulder‑focused gym session that coincides with his friend Cassandra’s 30th birthday. He opens by describing a chaotic night of retrieving balloons from Party City, a water‑damaged phone that fogged his camera lens, and missing audio equipment, setting the stage for a DIY filming approach using a Sony a6300. He then details his pre‑workout supplement stack (Bum Savage pre‑workout, creatine, pump, EAAs from Raw Nutrition) before walking through his workout: warm‑up plates, progressive loading to three plates for overhead presses, multiple drop sets to muscular failure, lateral raises on a machine, rear‑delt cable work, an FST‑style chest finisher, and a triceps reverse cable curl. Throughout he emphasizes volume, tempo, and mental focus, interspersing motivational self‑talk. Interludes include a quick showcase of his Tesla’s frunk, swivel screen, and watch integration, with a promise of a future car‑mod video. The vlog concludes with a brief birthday celebration for Cassandra, including a sing‑along and birthday wishes, while noting the ongoing technical challenges of recording.

I have been to Party City 3 times in the past hour because I keep getting a balloon and it's pouring rain out here and the balloon is slowly just— as I'm driving. So third time they finally gave me a bag, which usually costs a dollar, but they were like, just take a bag. And we're gonna try again to get home. 2 in the morning right now. She's well asleep, so I'm going to go ahead and, uh, set up the birthday shop. What's up, YouTube? I'm going through some issues right now. I just now wanted to start this channel and I realized that my camera lens is foggy on the inside for some reason. Well, I know why. Yesterday when I was getting the balloons and it was storming, my phone fell into a puddle of water. And as I'm recording today, I realize that it's getting really foggy. Like, why is it foggy? It looks like I'm in the club. Looks like I smeared grease all over the lens. In the meantime, today's Cassandra's 30th birthday. I'm excited for her, but she's not excited because she says, "I'm getting older." But yet she looks like she's 25. Girl, you're good. She woke up to this this morning. It looks really good. I can't film it from the other side because my lens is blurry. So, pfft. Now I need to figure out what I'm gonna do with that. In the meantime, I do have a Sony a6300 here. But the mic, one of my buddies has my mic right now and I ordered some lapel mics that should be here on Sunday, which I'm excited for. But the quality as far as the audio quality is gonna be tragic. So can't use this right now. So right now we're just face front and camera. Until the meantime, today's shoulders and chest day. So we're gonna knock that out here. I'm gonna get my pre-workout going. I'm gonna go to the gym. Pre-workout concoction I make here, 2 scoops of Bum Savage pre-workout for some good explosive energy. Creatine here, just why not? You need your creatine. 2 scoops of some pump just for that added vascularity in the veins. And I hydrate myself with some EAAs here. All the products I use are from Raw Nutrition. If you guys interested, I'll leave a link down in the description. She's sitting nice right now. Got a project working on this one. Meantime, we're going to take the Tesla today here, try to save gas. Can't wait to get these on. Workmeisters, I'm getting the faces redone. In for a real treat when that comes out. One thing I love about this car here, got it tied in with my watch. Bottom left, I got the frunk, and then I got my car door on the bottom right here. If I can try to do this in one hand, I'll show you the car. Bam! Frunk. Also put it in this here swivel screen. Actually, I've done a lot to this car. I'll do a video on that one day, all the mods I've done to my cars. That'll be a separate video. When I first started, I did do one plate first just to get acclimated to the weight. Good easy reps, nice control, making sure I'm getting comfortable with the weight and focusing on my form, building a good connection. From there, I did add on another plate, which you see here, and ultimately my first working set with three plates. Nice controlled reps, control on the way down, all the way to the top, full range of motion, nice easy reps, staying focused, staying in that pocket there, keeping the mind focused on exactly what it is I'm working, and really pushing through. Started to build up the sweat, so it was time to take off the pump cover, really dial into the exercise here. So second working set here, we got in nice easy reps all the way to the top, really driving through one rep at a time, controlling the weight, staying focused, staying in that mindset of exactly what you're working out, and that's that front head of the delt. From here on, drop the weight and we're going to get some volume into there. Shoulders, for me personally, I like to do a lot of volume. I'll get some heavyweight in there, do some drop sets. This is the first real exercise, so I really wanted to dive deep into this here, really pushing myself all the way to failure. And I mean true failure, not cardiovascular failure, but muscular failure. Dropping more plates down to the last plate here. Weight feels light, but it's still heavy, so I want to make sure you take control over these weights here. Don't let it just fall. Really push through one rep at a time, just feeling in that burn here. I started feeling that lactic acid built up in the shoulders, and we just had to push through it. Take your mind off the pain, just push through while you're doing this. Just call yourself a little bitch. That's what I do. Some pump reps in there, half reps, just do whatever I can. Next, we moved over to lateral raises. Just some high reps. I like doing this machine here because it really helps focusing on the reps. They're not swinging any dumbbells. Sometimes I do cable. Today we did the machine side raises here. High reps, did 3 sets of 20, really holding at the top, squeezing. Good weight, lots of volume. Felt good, really pushing through. Biggest thing is tempo, exploding up. Coming down, exploding up, coming down. And as you start building that failure, just get some good reps at the end of it just to get that good burn. This was my last set after doing 3 of them, I believe. Next, I'm doing some rear delt cables here. I like doing these, I can really isolate the rear delt and focus on one at a time. Good stretch across the front of the body and thinking about pulling the weight with my pinky outwards as if I'm pulling apart something. Which really lets me target that rear delt and not using my triceps or any other muscles, especially your back when you're doing this here. 15 reps each arm, 4 sets. Again, I'm really focusing on volume. Today was predominantly a shoulder day, but I like to end with some chest. With these reps, I did more of an FST style here, and that's getting good blood flow pumped into the muscle, really fatiguing it. Since I'm ending with chest instead of starting with chest, I just want to get good blood flow in here. These were focused on the higher rep, shorter rest period. So I get about 12 to 15, pause for 30 seconds, catch my break, get right back into it. Total of 5 sets with some pumps at the end. And then finally I'm ending with some triceps. I love doing the reverse cable curl here with single arm, getting a nice deep stretch and squeezing that long head. It burns so bad but feels so good. Each arm I did 15 reps on each, total of 3 sets. I already did a lot of triceps through the push movements here, but this was just really focusing and dialing in. Biggest thing is just touching up some triceps since I don't really have a solo arm day. And that was about it. Again, little flex in there, see how you're looking in the mirror, and we're done.
Well, we're definitely going to be super late. I don't even know. Well, hopefully Steph gets there on time, cuz— and hopefully it's not a place where they're like, no parking.
It's going to be late. And I can't record on my camera, on my phone, because my lens has water in it.
Happy birthday, my queen! Yeah, there you go. It's your dirty 30, though.
Is that the one you lost? That's not the one you lost?
I lost a Gucci one.
Oh. Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, dear Cassandra. Happy birthday to you. Woo! Many more.
