Afraid to wake up from the dream? { Freedom Friday Focus}

A short motivational video by Kenny Chapman (Freedom Friday Focus) that uses a recent vivid dream as a metaphor to ask viewers whether they would rather return to their nightly dreams or 'wake up' from their current waking-life reality. Through personal anecdotes and reflective questions, Chapman encourages listeners to inventory their careers, relationships, and life choices, urging conscious decision-making to manifest a chosen, fulfilled life. He briefly references childhood play, time in the military, and an upcoming book chapter on 'dream based reality.'

Hey, my friend Kenny here. I just want to touch base with another episode of Freedom Friday focus. And today we're going to talk about dreaming and. No, just because I'm kept from California, we're not talking about California dream. And what we're going to talk today about is really your perception of dream and really kind of how dreams enter your life now. No, I'm not going to go super high level, and I'll kind of overly crazy or overly dramatic or anything like that, but I do want you to kind of think about what a dream means to you. And now this just completely came out of nowhere from a dream that I had a couple of nights ago, and I had one of these experiences. Let me ask you this first. Sorry. Do you ever have that. That experience in the night where you. You wake up, it's like you're. You're sleeping good or whatever, and for whatever reason, you wake up and all of a sudden your heart's pounding and it's beating, and you're like, gosh, what's. You know, what's taking place? What's going on? And you go, I am super grateful that I woke up and that what I was just dreaming about is not my current reality. Anybody. Anybody had that experience. I know I have many, many times in my life, right? But what happened to me the other night was the other side of the coin, and that doesn't happen very often. And it went a little something like this. It was like, okay, I'm having this dream, and all of a sudden I wake up and I realized that I needed to use the restroom is probably why I woke up. But I went like. I was in the middle of such an interesting, fascinating dream that I literally, before I got out of bed, I was like, man, I wonder if I could wait a little bit to use the facilities, because I really want to get back to sleep and finish this dream now. No, it wasn't that kind of dream that you might be thinking about. It was actually an interesting dream. It was, you know, Christie making jewelry was involved. I had friends and family, and I was, like, in a place of influence in my life now. I've been doing a lot of meditation. I've been doing a lot of personal growth and really focused on expanding my own capacity, stepping into my greatness at a whole new level. And in this life, in this form, in this shape and all these different things, and I was like, man, I really want to finish that off. And that generally doesn't happen now. Here's what I want you to think about today, as you're kind of heading into your weekend, and that is, where is this showing up in your own life? And more importantly, what if I was to wake you up from your own current reality of a dream? Which would you want to get back to sleep so you can keep on playing? Now, again, I'm not going super high level, but this was really interesting because most of the time, I wake up and my heart's pounding and, you know, I'm like, holy cow. You know, I'm being chased by something. I'm falling. There's. Who knows, whatever. Some dream expert could definitely have a heyday with my own personal situation and my dreams and whatever happens like that. But what's fascinating is I like, normally I'm like, whoo, thank God. Anybody relate to me with this. It's like, thank goodness I'm out of that situation. Okay? Now I can get back to my normal life, and I don't have that going on. Now, what about if any of you have had this experience like I had this week, where you go, man, that was amazing. I really am fascinated. I'm really interested in seeing how this plays out. I want to go back to sleep and check it out and see where this ends up playing, where this ends up happening, how this ends up shaping and forming in my life. And I went, wait a minute. Isn't that kind of how our lives work anyway? Isn't that a little bit just the way our own realities work? Isn't that sometimes just how life is happening? So again, let me ask you this question. Let's say that I woke you up from your current reality. You have a business, you have a life, you have your career, you've got whatever you have going on. Your own personal relationships. Perhaps you're in an intimate relationship. Maybe you're dating, maybe you're married, Whatever it is. What if you were to wake up, if you will, from that current reality? Would you want to go back and. And continue on? Would you? If I said, hey, wake up, wake up. And you went, wait a minute, here's my current reality. I founded the Blue Collar Success Group. I'm a lifetime entrepreneur. Lifetime since I was 23. I'm engaged with my team that I absolutely love. I sold my service business to people that I love to. I care about, and different things going on. And like, man, let me get back to sleep. That's where I go. No, I want to continue this journey. I want to continue this life that I'm creating on a daily basis, consciously choosing who I play the game. With where I play the game, how I play the game as a conscious choice, because that's how I want to see how this dream plays out. However, I know many clients, many friends, many peers, many people would go, wake me up. And I go, hey, wake up, wake up. And you go, okay, wait a minute. What's my life, man? I'm in this business that I don't really love. I'm in this career that I don't really love. I'm in these relationships that struggle. I have a financial situation that. That doesn't serve me or take care of my situation, my wants, needs, and desires. I'm playing a treadmill game. I'm waiting until I retire. I'm like, wow, thanks, Kenny. Thanks for waking me up. I don't want to go back to sleep to that if that's what the dream is that I'm playing out on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. So now you go, okay, Kenny, well, what's the point? Where are you going with this? The point is, what if the dream is your life? The question becomes, what are you doing right now that maybe you need to wake up from? When you set that alarm and you hit the snooze button, are you hitting snooze because you want to get back to that reality of the dream that you had, or are you hitting snooze because you don't want to wake up to your current reality of the dream that you're creating on a daily basis? Many of you watching this right now or listening to this, whatever form you're digesting me here today, you're going to go, wow, wait a minute, I've created some of this. And that's where I want you to really think today. It's where I really want you to explore getting back to. What about when you were a kid and you would play dress up, or you would build the fort in the backyard or. I know my sister and I used to go camping in the living room, and we'd get sheets off of, you know, from the. From the laundry closet or whatever, and we draped, you know, tents out and this and that. And I couldn't wait to go camping in reality and build a tent and all those types of things. And then I once. I spent some years in the military and all that. I swore I'd never sleep in a tent again. So that's why I did some luxury motorhome travel for many years. I'm not down for tents, and now I'm hiking so much and I'm out in the wilderness so much. I told the lovely Christy the other day, I'm like watching we're going to end up sleeping in tents again in this lifetime because I just love being out in the middle of nowhere and taking in the incredible wilderness and environment and different things. And so once again, my friend, never say never, right? But the reality is like those were things I dreamed about as a kid and now what did you dream about as a child that you are either manifesting or not manifesting in your life. What did you want to be when you grew up, if you will, when you're asleep at night, when you're having these random dreams, Random or not, who knows? But as things are running through your mind at a different level of consciousness, while your eyes are closed and you're in some form of a sleep meditative state, some things are going on and you're free to be who you want to be. You're free to explore in your subconscious, deal with some anxieties. Probably why I wake up in a cold sweat sometimes. Wake up going, holy cow, why am I getting chased by a three headed wolf down the streets of London? Whatever, right? Werewolf of London, Maybe that was my subconscious thought, right? But when you think about these things, my friend, when you think about your own reality, when you think about your own situation today, how can you wake up? Maybe it's time, if you're in business for yourself and it's time to wake up. Why? Because you also are creating a dream for other people to execute their dream based reality. I've got a new book coming out on change relatively shortly that my editor's working through some process and some different things. And in chapter two I write about dream based reality. And after what happened this week, maybe that's one of the reasons I had this dream where I woke up and I went, wait a minute, I want to get back to sleep, I want to finish this out. And. And I said, well, wait, isn't that what we're doing on a daily basis in our lives? Don't I want to get up tomorrow so I can re engage in this dream that I'm creating and see where it goes and see how it plays out and see how I can benefit my team and see how my team can benefit my clients and see how I can learn from different situations and challenges in the world and different things that happen in current culture and whatever that is. Don't I want to get back to it and really live full out and play full out and learn what I can and see where this shakes out? No different than when I woke up from my dream and wanted to continue to play. So here's where I'll leave you today. I want you to just take a moment and really look at your life and do a little bit of inventory. I believe in happy, healthy, wealthy, wise. I don't believe in this. Oh, you know you're going to go to hell if you make a lot of money. And I don't believe that you're a great person if you make a lot of money. And I don't believe that there's a badge of honor that comes with being poor. And I don't believe that being rich makes you instantly happy. I don't believe in a lot of different things. But what I do believe is that you have a conscious brain that you can make choices with. And I believe that's one of the greatest gifts that God ever gave us is the ability to choose to your dream in this life. What if you went to sleep at night and you had a. What do you call it? I'm bad at testing, as you can tell, a multiple choice quiz on which dream you wanted to have that night. What if you got to go A, B, C, D, E or F? Which one of these do I want to spend my time tonight slumbering through my night dreaming about engaged in that? Guess what? Wake up my friend, you've got a multiple choice test right now, today. Or what do you want to choose? Get out of the dream that you're sleeping through your life and wake up to your greatest life until we talk. Make it a better than fantastic day, weekend, month, year and dream of your life. Cheers.
