Is it “Miner” Hard or Minorly Hard?

Kenny Chapman contrasts real hardships faced by miners who risked death daily with modern complaints like a dead phone. He argues life is about perspective and asks whether your difficulties are truly hard or just minorly hard.

Is it minor hard? Kenny Chapman here, blue collar coach, Freedom Friday focus. I want to talk to you today coming from Jerome, Arizona, super known mining community from back in the day. Lovely. Christy and I just spent a couple nights at the Jerome Grand Hotel here, which there's a lot of talk, there's a lot of history, there's a lot of so on and so forth. Yeah, there's a book in there people fill out about all the different ghosts and things, whatever. This was an old hospital built by the mine way back in the day. And it was opened in 1927 as a 1926 Otis Elevator in here. What's my point? My point is, as you think about what went on back in the day, the mining that took place, the death that happened on record, it says there's about 15,000 people that lived around here. It was one of the largest communities in Arizona. Now I want you to think about today. When these gentlemen went to work, they did not know if they were going to get home. There was a certain level of guarantee they're going to be in danger every single day and they might actually lose their life. I want you to think about your life, your situation, because some of you feel like you're gonna die before you get through your shift, before you get to Friday. Oh, I'm gonna die. But not literally, like what took place here. And sometimes we go, oh, it's so hard. Really? Is it hard? Is it whining? One of our videos, we talk about winners and whiners. I want you to think about if you lived at this time, if you had to go through this hardship that was real. What about now? Your phone doesn't charge all night and it goes out and the, oh my gosh, the world's coming to an end. Think about your first world problems. Life is about perspective. Get out, think, find perspective and realize. Is it really hard? Is it minor hard? Or is it really minor, minorly hard? Until we talk. I'm Kenny Chapman. Make it a better than fantastic week. We'll see you real.
