A short Freedom Friday video by Kenny Chapman (the 'blue collar coach') distinguishing 'energy-adding' versus 'energy-sucking' tasks and people. Chapman uses a personal anecdote about visiting western Colorado to illustrate choosing activities that energize, then prompts viewers to identify what to remove from their routines and what to increase (e.g., hikes, short walks, 10 minutes of thinking time).

There are two types of tasks. Energy adding tasks, energy sucking tasks. Kenny Chapman here, the blue collar coach. Freedom Friday. Focus. I want you to just think about those two tasks. Every day we're working through, we're doing specific things. There are tasks, there are people. There are specific things in your life that completely suck the life out of you. You know what I'm talking about. You can think of some of those different types right now. There's also some things that just energize you, feed you, give you energy, make you have passion, want to show up and out. I used to live in western Colorado. The lovely Christy and I are back visiting. There are a lot of things in this market that kind of sucked the life out of me and there's a lot of things that completely added energy. Now that I don't live here, I come back and I specifically do the energy adding tasks. What about your life? What about your daily routine? Think about what can you get rid of that doesn't serve you and what can you get more of that does? Maybe it's taking a beautiful hike. Maybe it's a walk around the block. Maybe it's just 10 minutes of thinking time for you. Whatever it is, go find it until we talk. Make it a better than fantastic day and we'll see you real soon.
