What to do with Dead Leads

Kimberly Crowe explains how to reconnect with inactive leads. Skip the apology for going silent. Instead, reach out with something specific about them, like "I ran across your name and wanted to find out what you're up to." It restarts the conversation without the awkwardness.

Hey, folks, it's Kimberly Crow. I'm here in Puerto Vallarta today. It's beautiful out and I am here with the Guinness record largest Katrina ever built. Very exciting. In honor of the Day of the Dead, she is here. So I thought I would do a little recording of what to do with dead leads in honor of the Day of the Dead. So oftentimes we have a list of leads and nothing has happened with them for a very long time. Maybe you didn't follow up with them. Maybe you got a stack of business cards when you went to a networking event and didn't do anything to follow up with those dead leads. Well, it's not that they are dead. Those people are still. Most of them are still alive and kicking. They just haven't heard from you in a while. So how do you revive them? Here's a tip. Do not send them a note saying, hey, I haven't followed up or I screwed up or I wanted to reach out because I found your business card or whatever it is. Please don't do that. It just points out the fact that you have not followed up, that you have not followed through. And we don't want to start a new relationship with somebody reviving a relationship, telling them that you are failure at follow up. So don't do that. Definitely want to make it about them rather than about you, though. So what you want to do is just reach out to them, ideally individually send them a note and say, hey, I ran across your name and I wanted to reach out because I haven't connected with you in a while and I just wanted to find out what you're up to. Shoot me a note and let me know and start the conversation with them again. That way. That way you make it about them to share something about what they're up to and not, hey, I ran across your leads and I realized that I didn't follow up or you haven't heard from me in a while. But here's a really cool thing that you should buy from me. Just make sure that you make it about them, not about you, and you will revive those dead leads. All right, folks, if you haven't yet subscribed to this channel, we would love for you to do that. Smash that subscribe button. I'll see you next time. I'm Kimberly Crow. Cheers.
