In this episode, Kris Plachy shares her habit of generating ideas while walking or showering, describing how listening to the Daily Stoic podcast sparked a "don't wait, try it" mindset that she applied to a client’s decision‑making. She explains her process of voice‑memoing thoughts and using AI co‑writing to develop concepts, leading her to focus on the language of "greatness" and how women can pursue it. In conversation with Speaker B, they explore what greatness means for women, emphasizing curiosity, ambition, and the need to define it personally. They discuss the double‑edged nature of the pursuit—its empowering potential versus the risk of becoming a toxic, hyper‑focused drive. Kris then announces the launch of her Hot Seat Summer coaching program and the upcoming Sage private coaching cohort for 2026‑27, detailing limited spots, enrollment dates, and a referral incentive that offers a VIP strategy day. The episode concludes with a reflective journaling prompt encouraging listeners to identify where greatness is calling in their lives.

Amazing, Sages. How are you? Hey, I'm, um, just finishing a walk, and so it's a little noisy probably for the first few minutes of this, but I've been, um, I have this really odd habit. Maybe other people will relate to that. As soon as I go like on a walk or turn on the shower— anybody else? Water, turn on the shower— I get all these ideas. Um, and so this morning I, uh, decided— I was like, what do I want to listen to? And so I decided to listen to the Daily Stoic podcast. Shout out to Daily Stoic if you listen to him. Love his podcast, love his simplicity. I think I am an aspiring Stoic. Um, but I was thinking— I was listening, and then what ends up happening to me, and it was actually kind of a— I wouldn't say silly, but it was sort of a silly episode talking about, um, uh, it was a quiz. Some— somebody was quizzing the Stoic guy on quotes, like, is this quote from a Stoic or from a cartoon character? And it was entertaining, but it was— I was like, oh, this isn't really what I was looking for. But that's fine, I listened to it. And then a former client of mine sent me a Voxer And so we were just chatting and she was telling me that— I actually had sent her a Voxer this morning because I thought about her and I had a message I felt like I needed to share with her, so I did. And she responded and said, yeah, I'm trying to make a decision if I want to do this thing or not. And my answer to her was, for sure you should. Just remember, test it. Don't wait. Make a decision and test it and see what happens. I think we tend to think we need to know before we go, but we can't know unless we go. So go! And, um, so I told her that. And then the craziest thing was the podcast I was listening to ended and then his next one started. And no joke, that podcast was basically— the title I think was like, Don't Wait, Try It. And I said that to her too. I'm like, okay, well, the Stoics want us to believe me too. So how about we just stop waiting and we just do stuff? And so then that kicked off for me a bunch of writing. I just started, and when I say writing and I'm walking, that means voice memoing and capturing the thoughts that are in my mind. And then I take those and I put them into my co-writing support in AI and say, hey, I want to develop this concept in it will help me do that. So through that process this morning, all of this to say, back to the topic, is the word that I actually don't use very often, um, of becoming great, how to be great, how to achieve greatness, um, started being a lot more kind of in my language. And as I was writing, I was sort of expanding on the fact that I really do work with women who have an innate curiosity in the potentiality of their greatness, right? Like, how to be great, how to be greater, how to achieve another level of greatness, that it's okay to want more, to want to be greater. And yet I think a lot of us maybe don't believe that, or we don't think of ourselves as being people who are pursuing greatness. We just think of ourselves as women who are trying to achieve goals or make something happen or— right, whatever. And I wonder what happens. So, so as I'm writing all this for myself, and you, I'm thinking, what do I think about my greatness?
And I believe I, I believe I am in the pursuit of greatness, but I also believe there is great still within me. Like, I have not yet curated, achieved, invested in, allowed believed in the possibility, the potentiality of my own greatness, that I know there is more for me.
And I think that's cool, right? Like, so I think, dude, that's really cool.
Like, I'm really happy with what I have done in my life, and also there are things yet I want to achieve, I want to pursue, I want to realize because I'm in the pursuit of it. Yeah, I'm in the pursuit of greatness, and greatness is not, um, a singularly defined attribute or destination. I think greatness is contingent on the user. I think that is for us to define. What does it mean to achieve greatness? I would say probably in some parts of my life, I feel as though I have really knocked it out of the park. Like, I'm really proud of how much I invested in what I've achieved. And then I know there are other parts of my life that I know there is more to pursue, to experience, to allow, to believe in. To forgive, to stop avoiding. I know that. I think for the curious woman who is in the pursuit of greatness in her life, I think every single one of you who is listening to this would agree with that. I think you would agree. Oh no, no, no, there's still something else I can work on. There is still more to pursue here. And that while there might be discomfort through that process, it's also invigorating. To consider it, that you could be greater than you are? Oh, could you be greater than you are? And if so, why? What, what would that be now from where you are to where you would go? What would it be? Would it be an expansiveness in how you relate to others and how you communicate? Would it be in how well you care for yourself?
Yourself?
That for me is one. Would it be in your leadership and how you allow the business to grow beyond you? You drop the fear, you drop the lack of trust, you allow a new version of your business to be born that is not super glued to your back. Could it be your financial prowess, your your ability to earn, your ability to save, your ability to share? Could it be your personal presence that you become greater in how you are present and with and help others? I mean, there's so much more, but I know, you know, the women I work with in Sage, these— this is that client. She is in pursuit. And it doesn't take hiatus. It doesn't, for as much as she probably wishes it would. It doesn't turn off. There isn't an off button. And that's part of why I know so many of the women I've worked with for many years return to work with me. It's because we If we aren't well directed with our desire for greatness, it has an underbelly. It has a, you know, just as I've said in so many ways, so many times, our superpower can become our poison. We can poison our own well. We can become toxic to ourselves in the absence of a directed pursuit. We can hyperfocus on something and try to perfect and control rather than be in pursuit and expansive and discomfort, disquieted, unknowing. But that is also like a path, right?
So the—
so we— I've watched that both sides of that coin within myself and within my clients. So both are possible. But what does that mean to pursue greatness? Are you a woman who is in the pursuit of her own greatness? And are you willing to acknowledge that that is a hunger that you have and that it's totally good and okay, that it isn't selfish, it isn't self-indulgent, it isn't— it is okay to be ambitious. It is okay to believe in the potentiality of what's— what could come for you, of what you could be.
It's a—
it's It's admirable. It's inspiring. Are you willing to believe that? Because I know my clients do believe that, although I think we all still struggle a little sometimes with like, when is it too much? When should I stop? When should I— like sometimes the pursuit of greatness feels heavy. I just think that means we're either at the beginning of something that will be significant, or we have been in pursuit of something that is not real. And aligned for us. But are you a woman who wants to pursue another level of greatness? I sure am. And I, I'm in— I'm intrigued and sort of invigorated by the idea of what else is possible for me, because I know there's so much. And it's so fun to work with other people who share that, who have that same innate curiosity in what could be if they We're willing to even like say the thing out loud. Yeah. So we just wrapped up registering Hot Seat Summer. So I start that tomorrow. I'm so excited about that. It's just out now coaching, mama, nothing but coaching. And then for the next, let's say probably the next 6 weeks or until it's full, I will be accepting new registrants for Sage for '26-'27. We start at the end of September. And we go through July. This is a private coaching program with me, and there's other women that we do gatherings with, and it's limited to 20 people. And as I record this right now, I have 9 spots left. So I'm actually putting this on the podcast for a reason. A couple of things. If you're a current client, so if you're a Sage client that has renewed and you're starting with me again, I know you know other amazing women. And so I would like to offer you a personal VIP day with me. That's a little cheesy sounding, but do you know what I mean? We're going to spend a day doing strategy, focusing on you, focusing on your business, focusing on what you want to achieve, your greatness. What's next for you? If you refer 2 women to join Sage by September and they stay for 90 days, meaning they don't, you know, drop, I'm going to offer you a strategy day with me. And if you are not a current client and you refer 3 women who join Sage and meet those same parameters, I will also offer you a strategy day with me. My goal is to really continue to curate a room of women and this— the practice I have with women, um, through just a very organic and authentic methodology. And I know this podcast attracts— like, I love that you love that we're just having a chat. And if you know other women who would benefit from this, please, please introduce them to me. I'm more than happy to talk with anyone. So you don't have to be the guard gate. You can let me do that work. If you're a current client, you can connect me with them through Voxer. You can give them my personal number. I know most of you have that and just text us and make the connection. And if you aren't a current client and you'd like us to connect, just send an email to me and to your colleague or friend, uh, Kris@krisplachy.com.
All right, love.
In the meantime, I would just invite you to sit for a minute, maybe with your journal tomorrow morning or in the evening, whenever you do, and just ask yourself, where else, what else, where else is greatness calling to me? What do, where do I want to tune into that in myself, in my life, in my work? Just, just ask yourself that. And this isn't to not acknowledge every— everything in which way that you are, but I also think it's important to every now and then sharpen the spear and take a better look at where we want to point our arrow next.
Yeah?
All right, thanks for tuning in.
