Foreign.
Hello, welcome. I am Chris Plackey, the host of Leadership is Feminine. And if you are listening to this, it's because you just found this podcast. And I'm first of all thrilled that you're here. I think that's so cool. I do believe that you're here for a reason, and I am super hopeful that what you're looking for you will find here. I decided to do this introductory episode and post it here at the top of the podcast because I've been doing this podcast for a very long time, and I think sometimes when you start with the most recent episode, it may not make a lot of sense. If you were to do that, you might find that you're in the middle of a series that I just had just started, and you're picking up somewhere kind of in an awkward spot. And so what I thought I would do is just give you an introduction and tell you, really how to navigate this podcast. So if you have just found me and you are listening to this on either Apple or Spotify, or maybe you found it on my homepage on the Visionary CEO website, I want you to understand that out of the 348 episodes that you're going to find here, you're going to find sort of different buckets of support. The first bucket is really focused on leading people, how to lead them, how to manage them, how to sit in the seat of, you know, the role of a female founder, which is what this podcast is generally designed for. Although if you are a woman leading within a business, I think you're going to find that with the exception of some of the very finite entrepreneurial topics I cover, you will find this all applies to you because women lead differently. That's why this is called Leadership Is Feminine. And so I don't want you to feel like this isn't for you if you're the vice president of sales somewhere or you run, you're the executive director of a nonprofit, or even if you're just getting started in leading, I think and know that my hope is that you find mentorship here in all of those areas. But the first big topic is really how to be a better leader of a team and of a business. And so you'll find topics in here related to performance, accountability, hiring, firing, team management, gossip, basic things that happen within a business, creating practices and policies and all of those things. The second thing you're going to find in here is interviews. I have gone through several series of different interviews with different leaders, from my own clients to women who have sold their businesses to other guest sort of experts in industry. Different. Different female founders who do different kinds of work. There's quite a few interviews that you'll find in here, and I think you'll find them all to be still quite relevant, even if they were recorded two years ago, three years ago. And then I think you'll find the other big bucket is, I guess, what I would like to call sort of what speaks to your soul. It's mindset, it's your heart, it's your emotions, it's who you are as a woman and how to navigate the role that you're in, the responsibility that you have, the decisions that you have to make, the fear that you might fear, the challenges that you unexpectedly face, the triggers that you deal with that you didn't even know you had. That's what I call the coaching bucket. Right? This is your soul. This is who you are. You were drawn to be in a leadership role for a reason. And for my business owners, my female founders, I know a lot of you did not care about being a leader. You just wanted to get your thing in the world. Your insurance company, your professional organizing business, your interior design business, your real estate business, your law firm. You just wanted to get it into the world. You. You. You built a thing of your own, and then all of a sudden, it became a $5 million business, a $2 million business, and now you have all these people. But it doesn't change the fact that you also are a woman who has her own emotional history, her own lens from which she sees the world. And there can be parts of that lens that occlude your vision, that make it hard for you to find your way. And so this podcast is my gi. My gift, my love letter, my. My support, my heart to you, so that you know you're not alone. That you know that. That if I'm telling you what I'm telling you here, you're not alone, because at least one other person, me. But there's lots more. Have felt it, have experienced it, have. Have navigated the pain that you're in, the confusion, the overwhelm, the resentment of your own business, the anger of. Of having people in your company who don't deliver. The frustration, the sheer burnout, and then also the joys, the pride, right? This, this. This knowing that, like, there's a high of, like, holy smokes, look what I did.
There's so much emotion when we run a business, when we start a business, and when we step into a leadership role where we are asking more of ourselves than we ever have before. So there's a lot of topics in here and I just invite you as you get started. My recommendation is before you just go to the latest episode, scroll through, pick a title that resonates right. There's so many about people pleasing, embracing challenges, how to sell your business, how to have a performance conversation. Why is it so hard to hire good people? Visionary doubt. How to create your vision so that people will follow all. There's so many topics in here for you. Scrolling through myself, there's so much in here. So that's my invitation. I'm thrilled that you're here. I really do believe you're going to find a topic that will excite you. Start with that one. I've had more women tell me that once they find this podcast they just binge it.
And the only other thing I would say is because a lot of these were recorded years ago, sometimes they have invitations to things and there's weird outros to go to some website that may not exist anymore. That's okay. The website that we have now, that's at the end of the podcast now. The visionary CEO. That's all still there. That's how we get connected. And just like has been the case for me since I started. If you are running a multimillion dollar operation and you need help, I will meet with you. I would love to get to know you so I we have the opportunity to do that. But regardless, thrilled that you're here to now let's get started.
