One of my life mottos is never be the one to say no to yourself. If you're never being the one to say no to yourself, you're always in your own corner. So other people can come and they can tell you no, and they can say, maybe not now. Maybe that's not right for you. It's not a magic permission slip to do anything you want in this world, but it means that you always have your own back. You are always your own biggest cheerleader, and that is such a powerful message to give yourself.
My version of that is don't cheat yourself. Don't bench yourself before the game starts. Like, those are two things that it's always like, am I the one.
Blocking myself? Blocking myself? I also love don't cheat yourself because it could apply even to something like, if you stop your workout a few minutes early, like, are you cheating anybody else? Are you cheating yourself? I was working out.
I was 15 minutes in, and I'm like, I have so much to do. And I'm like, don't do that to yourself. Finish this workout, even if it's slow. Release some more dopamine, and then let's go.
